No one ever talks about it, but the dirty socks bit at 3:15 is one of my favorite Simpsons jokes. Dan Castellaneta's delivery going from cocky to woozy to "uggggh" is just perfect, and I love the animation of the bag deflating. Plus there's the joke itself that Homer's dirty socks are enough to overpower something, period, bonus points for it being something that probably doesn't even need to breathe
Well it's also a pretty obvious homage to Talky Tina, of Twilight Zone infamy. Episode's just called "Living Doll". Yeah, title's uncreative as FUCK, but it's a great story that a lot of media still harkens back to, kind of like with Duel for trucks.
He's not a horrible father, at least in the first 10 seasons. There is an episode where it shows he wanted another job but sacrificed that dream to care for his children by taking the boring nuclear plant job where they don't treat him well.
I laughed so hard when Marge said grandpa called all the gifts evil. Oh yeah and when Homer pulls the cord and dang near passed out from Laughing I remember when this first came out.
