    I'm sorry to bring up a shallow topic on a video of such importance; but, I must compliment you. Not only is your teaching style phenomenal, but I must say, that your new !ook makes you look like a completely different, much younger person. Shaving your head, and beard has made such a remarkable difference in your appearance.! It definitely suits you and makes you look both younger and happier. So much so in fact, that the lastvideo I watched of yours, you still had hair and a beard, and when this video popped up, I did not at first believe that it was by the same perso n! I thought I had made a mistake! You are !looking wonderful and very happy!
    Needless to say, your videos are outstanding. So much so, that you are motivating me to learn to write and say some of these things in Hebrew, which I am finding tremendously rewarding. It feels so different to pray in Hebrew, and I am loving it! Thank you for adding a whole new level of understanding to my Bible study.

My mother being a Scot when I introduced your book & your name I shared the line from a song of the Gordon Clan which goes like this, (not in full), "If yoor no a Gordon, yoor nay used ta me." written in the accent of the Scots of Scotland. Thought you might find this amusing. Thanx 4 the study it was enlightening. getting yr book soon. already got the "Shattering The Conspiracy Of Silence". For the Hebrew Matthew, I was hoping to see a comparison between the each of the Greek texts of Jesus vs. each of the Hebrew text of Yeshua, and how the Hebrew text accords with the Tanakh. Is that in your book on Hebrew Matthew?

    • @anafuggins1254

      Yes and later it was translated to greek. Matthew makes hundreds of references to the hebrew scriptures (old testament) and 40 are direct quotations where the divine name Jehovah is quoted but translators of the greek scriptures( new testament) substitute the divine name to lord. How would you feel if your personal name was removed. Well just think how God feel when his divine name is removed from tbe scriptures and had been done by so call religious leaders and some fanatic so call scholars.

    • @TheSmithDorian
      @TheSmithDorian 6 років тому +2

      No. The gospel of Matthew that we have today was composed in Koine Greek. At least that is the mainstream academic view.
      The text that Papias refers to is thought to be a different document that is lost to history.
      The Shem Tov gospel is a very interesting text though.

      Well I am Australian born and both speak and write in English. Mathew was a Jew who spoke either Hebrew or Aramaic so wouldn’t it be logical to think he would write his book in his first language he spoke? Can someone show me where Matthew spoke in Greek?

    • @TheSmithDorian
      @TheSmithDorian 6 років тому +1

      @Christine Osgood
      It's generally held that Mark's was the first gospel written and there has never been a suggestion that it was written in anything other than Koine Greek.
      Matthew copied a great deal of Mark and used it in his gospel. In fact almost 50% of Matthew's gospel comes from Mark. Much of this was actually a word for word copy. So to have written his gospel in Hebrew, Matthew would have had to have taken his material from Mark and translated into Hebrew.
      The early manuscripts of Matthew that we have would therefore have been 50% Koine Greek to Hebrew to Koine Greek again. It's very difficult to translate something from one language into a second language and back again into the original again and come back to an exact word for word copy. Yet in Matthew we have it.
      On top of that we have no records or accounts in the early church of anyone ever having read or seen a Hebrew Matthew.
      The idea that Matthew composed his gospel in Hebrew came from an early church father called Papias. However, the document that he described consisted of the "sayings of Jesus" - so it would have been something more like the gospel of Thomas than the canonical gospels. This document - if it ever existed - is now lost to us.

    Book of Exodus [ NKJ ]: "What is his name? What shall I say unto them? {3:14} And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you. {3:15} And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this [is] my name for ever, and this [is] my memorial unto all generations".
    Shemot 3:14 Orthodox Jewish Bible (OJB) "14 And Elohim said unto Moshe, Eh-heh-yeh ashair Ehheh- yeh (I Am Who I Am); and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the Bnei Yisroel, EHHEH-YEH (I Am) hath sent me unto you".

    A scholar's task is not simply to locate and present evidence. A scholar's task also includes explaining the meaning and significance of that evidence within a specific context, based upon one's expert knowledge. Ahem...imo. For example, the Hebrew word puns found in Matthew---it would be nice to hear from Mr. Gordon his educated opinion regarding the likelihood that Matthew was originally written in Hebrew, based upon the prevalence of the Hebrew word puns contained therein. In addition, with respect to the other gospels (and epistles) as well.

    Mr.Gordon, enjoyed your teaching...like Ruth of the OT, I have "gleaned" from the corners! Thank you. However, you said that when Messiah comes..We ought to know his " name" so we can greet him appropriately. Per Judaism, Messiah is a "mere man" annointed by Yehovah's high priest, and will have earthly parents, no virgin birth as prophesied. When your awaited Messiah comes..why would he then be greeted/ addressed as Yehovah/Yahweh. Wouldn't that be blaspheming to address this man as God? The Pharisees accused Yeshua of Nazareth of blasphemy when He proclaimed to be Yehovah, Son of David, Savior, Redeemer, Messiah, and Rightful King of Israel and he was crucified. I do understand from the Bible who He was/is by the "Spirit of Yehovah." Throughout older generations His prophets proclaimed Messiah!
    Zechariah 9:9 (KJV), Isaiah 9:6 (KJV), Isaiah 52:13-15, 53:2-12(KJV), even "In the beginning", Genesis1:1 "bara" out of Hebrew "B'reisheet" means (father, son, spirit), also in Isaiah 11:1-16 and Isaiah 7:14. I see who the Bible reveals by their proclamation. Moses even prophesied of another coming liken on to him..that they/we would hearken to. Yehovah, Creator, and Most High God, Our Father, gave us a "type of Yeshua" in the story of Joseph...who was made supreme ruler over all pharaoh had...all the known world at that time..only Pharoah was above him on the throne. His brethren did not recognize Him as their own because it was hidden from them. At the right time, Joseph, made himself known to them. He also saved His people too, a type of Savior. Yeshua is King and High priest in the order of Melchizedek forever..Our Father has exalted Him. He is coming again soon to take back the Kingdom from the imposter/false Messiah. Yeshua will restore the Davidic Kingdom at that time. By His atoning blood we are redeemed/ accepted as family of our Father, Yehovah. You are made right with the Father by faith in his Son. There is no other way to the Father. "Passover" is an example of this truth and mystery. The lambs blood on the doorpost is why judgement/death passed over those who applied it as Moses commanded. Yeshua's blood is that perfect lamb and His blood covers your eternal soul and atones for your sins so Yehovah's wrath/death/judgement passes over you. You're a Hebrew scholar and a Karaite. What a profound blessing to be both in my eyes.I pray you enter into this new covenant blood covenant Jeremiah 31:31 by faith in Yeshua soon and be saved. I'm just a humble servant..no scholar like you, so I mean no disrespect. I have to proclaim Truth as commanded by Yeshua as you feel compelled as a Karaite Jew to do also. Praise be our Father Yehovah and our reigning King Yeshua forever!

      Lion Tribe of Judah You truly still believe the Passover of the law of Moses given by God as a remembrance to forgive sins with the blood of a lamb painted on the front of your door, that law has been fur filled by the Lord Jesus, Isaiah has clearly stated from the words of God who said the word will become flesh and live among its people and cleanse them with his blood ,God will wash them from all of there sins, remember that God says the animals are not accountable to him ,we are the people that are made in his image, pray for God to open your heart and not your mind so you could see what God has done for humanity, Moses can’t help you , praise be the Lord God Jesus who came in the flesh.

      (vav carries the "u") and
      the "ch" is like in the Hebrew name "Nechemia" formed in the back of the mouth or throat.
      (and it has the "a", but it's spoken before that last consonant).
      Everything that you read in the NT is from the Jews and in Hebrew and

      I would say the law is a delight so long as its defined and interpreted by Jesus and not by the rabbis,,,the way Christians see it the law applies to the way we treat ALL of Gods creatures (not just the members of our immediate family) when you apply it to all it is a delight to the one keeping it and a delight to the one who is on the receiving end,,,"love your neighbor as you love yourself",,,who is your neighbor? Jesus used the Samaritans as an example. So even the one you see as an enemy ...the one you dislike is still your neighbor ...how many times shall I forgive my brother if he sins against me 7 times? I tell you 70x7=all the time...Love God with all of your heart soul mind and strength,,,u cant go wrong there,,,I love the law of God,,,its wonderful

      Erik Braganca The law of Moses IS the law of God. Book of Leviticus is named Vayiqra in Hebrew. Why, because the opening words are "Now the LORD SPOKE to Moses saying: "Speak to the children of Israel". Everything Moses spoke and wrote was first spoken to Moses by God.
      Secondly, the Scriptures speak expressly: "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome." 1 John 5:3. (in brotherly love)

    Note Philippians 3:6, 1 Cor 9:20-21. Paul says he is in the law blameless, but not under the law. To be under it is to be legally under (hypo, which can also mean to support what is above) a master who has power (eg of death) over you.

IN what we call the New Test. that pretty much what we call the Word of God is almost all Old Testament. take out all the personal messages the disciples/apostles wrote to each other and whats left is quotes from the Torah.

    Why did you photoshop the 18th-century copy of the 14th century Hebrew Matthew to change what it says? I have 2 scanned versions of this text and that is exactly what you did. You also continue to maintain that this is an original Matthew when everyone knows the 14th century original text was a translation by Rabbi Shem-Tob ben Isaac Ibn Shaprut. Rabbi Shem-Tob ben Isaac Ibn Shaprut wrote a controversial anti-Christian religious treatise called The Touchstone. The changes the text are his views not a reflection of any original text. This is just like how you claimed a Hebrew text was much older when it was 10th century AD to argue the nikkud in it showed a different original pronunciation of YWHA. You failed to mention that the same text has other differences in words found with the vowel points. This suggests that the masoretes were speculating on how words sounded.

    YESHUA did not start a new religion, HE came to save HIS ppl
    Isaiah 56 American Standard Version (ASV)
    1 Thus saith Jehovah, Keep ye justice, and do righteousness; for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
    2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that holdeth it fast; that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
    3 Neither let the foreigner, that hath joined himself to Jehovah, speak, saying, Jehovah will surely separate me from his people; neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
    4 For thus saith Jehovah of the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and hold fast my covenant:
    5 Unto them will I give in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name better than of sons and of daughters; I will give [c]them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
    6 Also the foreigners that join themselves to Jehovah, to minister unto him, and to love the name of Jehovah, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, and holdeth fast my covenant;
    7 even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.
    8 The Lord Jehovah, who gathereth the outcasts of Israel, saith, Yet will I gather others to him, besides his own that are gathered.

    How to be certain that in Matthew 23:2-3 "he" is the correct usage to refer to Moses, not "they" refering to pharisees, as almost all of the new testament bible was transliterated from the Greek Septuagint?

    Throughout the Scripture, old and new, we come across an expression, 'I AM with you,' which stems from the Hebrew words, 'EhYeh Immak.'
    Exodus 3:14 says: 'EhYeh Asher EhYeh,' that translates into English, 'I AM; that is who I AM.'
    It can be deduced Yehovah stems from EhYeh, that means 'I AM.'
    And also Yeshua can be derived from EhYeshua, that means ' I AM salvation.'

      +Luke Lee No. Yeshua's name in Hebrew is a compound name. It means Yehovah(Jehovah) is salvation. It was never called "I Am." It's actually "I am what I am." "I am" is the abridged version found in the KJV. xD

    When you stated embrace the word of God and reject the words of men when they disagree, I had a thought. Although knowing your scholarly sharpness, I will relay this. As you are probably aware of the Psalms 118. My numbers could be off, but the Old Testament has 594 verses and the New Testament has 594 verses. If you add the 594 to 594 you will have 1188. Psalms 118.8 the exact center of the bible says "Trust in the deeds of LORD not in the deeds of Man".

      I wouldn't necessarily place too much emphasis on methods associated with gematria or numerological interpretations, as these might lead to some seemingly sound ideas at the start but then to more esoteric and misleading notions thereafter (which is not to say we should not desire knowledge or wisdom, but rather be prudent to those ends)
      keep in mind chapter and verse formatting were significantly late additions to the Bible's composition, and they can vary between sources, Jewish and Christian, as with the type of Bible and whether certain verses are included or excluded
      I think there are a lot more verses than the numbers here (e.g. by the end of Genesis 4 there are already 106 verses), even so there is so much to learn from the Psalms about living towards God and good ways to live on the Earth
      He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
      (Micah 6:8)
