A couple rules about tanks on your R.V:
Great tank.You never put anything down there, but Gray water.No food scraps no Grease
Black tank: You can never use enough enzyme tablets.I recommend one before trip one every week of the trip and one at the end of the truck period you never empty it until it's three quarters full or more . You can add water to it by pushing down the lever of your toilet .
Is fresh water tank;: There is a liquid and sanitizing compound that you can use.The recommended every two years that will keep these tanks and airlines in good condition.
Last but not least, if you get water heater rot, Where you smell a rotten egg smell in your hot water. Release the pressure of your tank, drain the tank put in A curve funnel and add as much white vinegar until it flows out. Then put in your plug and add water. Give it 24 hours, drain replug.And refill and it should be good

Ethan, dear, can we talk? You camp in the woods, mice are freaking EVERYWHERE! Cover up any holes under your camper, and put steel wool into all gaps. And add that they make auto ignighter switches, it might be time to replace that water heater. 🤣🥰
You can stuff steel wool then seal with silicone or similar caulk. More permanent and air tight.
@@zebrazilch7249 - Yes, that spray foam too. I just know that in my camping experiences they will eat through everything, EXCEPT steel wool. I’ve never tried glue or silicone to hold it in place, good idea! I’ve tried the spray insulation foam and that lasted a week. Steel wool works!
@@Erin-Thor There's a spray foam called Mouse Block or Rodent Block or something like that. It's got something in it that the critters won't chew.

@@someguy9778 - Yes, hence the need for an automatic ignition switch to automatically relight it. Most will have limiter of say 3-6 attempts before stopping. This is so the heater doesn’t try to light it after an abundance of gas has collected. 💥 😎 Also remember that if the door had been closed instead of him standing there, it might have allowed the flame to stay lit. 😊
Ethan, get some dryer sheets and put them in all cabinets and empty gaps. Not only will it make.camper smell nice , it will chase mice away. Change the sheets one time or so a month.
Supposedly mice hate the smell. Not sure if that is true, but it worked well for me and my camper. Never had mice in it in over 20 years

@@advlandvideo - Awesome! My old Paco would turn into a young pup 🐶 and chase squirrels 🐿️ like her life depended on it. LOL! My cats were wasp hunters. One would get into the house and I’d leave the room and lock the door because they would piss the things off like crazy. One night I wake up at about 4 am to my cats on top of me and see a HUGE WASP 🐝 about the size of my thumb (not an exaggeration), wounded, buzzing, and very mad. My eyes opened up wide and I slapped my chest where they had put it like it was a present for daddy, pretty much on instinct. The humorous part was my fluffy white cat was so mad at me! 🤣

Ethan., try buying different sizes of lock lid containers to store all dry food. Get rid of all your bags & boxes like cereal into a container. Keep mice out of cabinets by placing Irish spring soap chips...helps keeping them out plus makes your camper smelling fresh!!
Ethan, All rodents detest mint. I used Spearmint essential oil on a cotton ball to get rid of rodents. They hate it, so I love it.
My friends bought pump Mint oil bottles,and use them to keep squirrels etc ; out of the house. Some others stuff dryer sheets in any opening a mouse may try.Worked for their travel trailer.

The strong scent of peppermint is overwhelming to mice. Similarly, essential oils such as eucalyptus oil, bergamot oil, clove oil, and cinnamon oil. Lowes, Amazon, ane Wal-mart also have chemical to spray around your tires to deter mice.

Anyone else check Ethan's page every night to see if he's posted a new video, get sad when he hasn't posted, but then get super excited when he does? His videos are seriously one of the things I look forward to the most after work! He's just so cute and funny, and his editing has gotten a lot better too. Yep. I'm right with you. Hope it's not too creepy that this old man (close to 70) really loves watching this young man's videos. I'm as envious as hell of the life he leads and am so happy for him that he is genuinely living his best life. It also doesn't hurt that Ethan comes across as a 100% genuinely decent guy as well.

Ethan use moth ball in your wheel wells to keep mice and squirrels out. I also use a little bleach in my sink drains.

I use Bounce Dryer softeners in my camper to keep mice away. It also makes the camper smell fresh. I put one in every space and two in bigger areas. It works for the whole winter when I am not using the camper.
He’s not gonna eat your peanut butter if it’s stored properly but you do have to be worried about is cleaning up the poop. make sure you wet it and don’t raise any dust that you breathe in. There are pathogens occasionally in mouse droppings
So amazing that Ethan never lets all the little hassles of the camping life get him down. It always inspires me on so many levels. 🌅

❤ I'm glad peaches got to see the beach, the water may have freaked her out a little bit but usually dogs love to run and play on the beach. Perhaps some other time you can brung her to another beach to play.

That’s my breakfast place. I live in the next town, Carlsbad. If you’re still in town, there is a large farmers market with a lot of different foods today, Thursday, in Oceanside . A couple blocks up from the beach this afternoon around 4pm.

Your issues with the camper is so typical of RVs. New or old, they seem to have issues and there is usually a backup of appointments to take your camper/RV to get it fixed. Even with the new expensive Rvs/ campers they seem to be made with less quality. Thanks for being truthful . Have a good trip.

Ethan first...you should not put any food scraps down your sink. Use the strainers to keep scraps from going down it. Black water is supposed to be water from sink and shower period. No scraps. Then you have a clean out hook up as well that looks like a hose hook up on your black tank so you clean it out when you empty. That will also help with the smell . You can also get an additive to help with the smell as well.
When you flame gets blown out on hot water tank . It automatically shuts has off once the probe cools. So no worries

If you’re ever in Monterey California area you should try scuba diving there. I go there frequently. If you’re interested I can show you the dive area, got extra gear too.
Also just a bit south from there there is a good free parking spots where I see campers in front of the beach parked all the time.

Something which works - place several bars of "Irish Spring" (soap) around the truck and camper. The scent keeps rodents away, as there is something in the ingredients of Irish Spring these little critters work!

When I was a kid my family had a over-cab pickup camper and I don't remember having all these sorts of problems. Of course we mostly only took it out on weekends though. We did drive it from L.A. to Banff, Canada once. I think we were able to heat the air in the camper just by cooking things on the stove and we slept in sleeping bags and dressed warmly. I can't imagine living in one. BTW my grandfather insisted on my grandmother making biscuits and gravy every morning. They lived in Arkansas. He eventually was paralyzed on one side from a stroke---so if you are afraid of dying I would recommend a better diet. I eat too many frozen pizzas myself.

People are often very surprised by the conception of what they expect us to be like and the actual reality. The UK is a wonderful place to live, not perfect by any means, but I wouldn't swap it for anywhere else.
