Good video, and kudos to Carly for doing this publicly. Useful information.
I did find one part strange. Speaking as an entrepreneur myself. She has studied entrepreneurship for many years, in mostly academic settings. She clearly likes the idea of entrepreneurship and the idea of working with entrepreneurs.
But with all that focus, it sounds like she has never once actually started a company herself. Not even attempted it in a small way.
So it seems like being a competitive bicyclist, and hiring a bicycling coach who has read hundreds of books about bicycling. But never once sat on a bike themselves.
If I were getting venture capital investment, I would be concerned about working with such an investor. How would they be able to advise when the hard challenges come up? What if their lack of experience makes them argue for actions I know are wrong, so I have to fight them while I am also fighting hard in the marketplace.
Maybe this is typical of VC investors?
I have never taken venture funding. So maybe it does not matter, and she makes a great VC investor after all.

VC investors are entrepreneurial - they are buying companies lol.

Likability is also a privilege. I really believe this needs to be less regarded. if you are white, going into a predominantly white VC firm you are more likeable than the brown/ black candidate. it's a form of discirmination

@@kawabunga1029 By finding more things about yourself that you can't change and then using those as an excuse for not getting a job instead of your poor performance.

Anyone else noticed how she started each answer with a fake "yeaaaah"?
I found the questions insightful but the answers very scripted
