For anyone wondering why the door starts closing after only pressing one button, I believe this is to make it quicker to close your door on the way out, let the door fully close and it should now work with the entire code when you go to open it, as long as you did everything correctly
Thank you, Danny! My husband and I had been messing around for hours trying to figure out what garage door opener TYPE we have (the manual didn't tell us). Then we found your video, used the chart to find what we needed, and programmed our clicker in minutes.
This is the best video out there for this because he displays the different garage door opener I'd codes. I couldn't find those anywhere. Thank you very much!
It worked for me just fine. Thank you. I have a overhead garage door opener. Specifically model 2026. I had trouble trying to find the right ID for it. It's number 6 for those that have trouble finding it.
Thank you very much! Somehow mine had become deprogrammed. The garage door unit still remembered it as a remote, but somehow the pin did not work until I re-programmed as you instructed. Thank you again.
Thank you so much for this video, after reading manuals and watching different UA-cam videos, yours was the onky one that actually helped me. All the ither videos were saying the same thing over and over.
Great guide and I followed it to a T however when I set my code (ex: 1234) then when I go to type it in the garage opens after i just hit the 1. I've reset it about a hundred times now and can't figure why this is happening. Any idea how I can fix this? I have a Genie Pro Screw Drive garage
I just did mine. After following the directions I went to key in the code to test it and it closed after hitting the first number. I then entered the code like normal and it worked. Don't know why.
@@mrknumbskullafter resetting, do you need to hit # or anything after your new password to open/close? I just test mine, got it to close (it also closed after the first number), but now I can’t get it back up with my new password…?
Thank you for taking the time to post this, I super appreciate it. Those cheap-ass Clicker keypads couldn't be less intuitive to program. FWIW, I had to wait for the lights to go out before proceeding into the final stage of opening & closing the door with the keypad. Anyways, thank you again!
Ohhhh my god! THANK YOU!!!! Bought a house with this crappy keypad and no manual. Everything I found kept saying to hit the Enter button. THERE IS NO ENTER BUTTON!!! Thank you for saving me from taking a hammer to this stupid thing!😂 🔨💪🏼
Great videol but I have a question......I installed the same keypad controller you show and it works great. But, now my portable garage door clicker that I keep in my car does not work. Do you have a fix so that both will work?
Great video, but I could not get it to work with my green button Craftsman (ID 4). Don't know what I am doing wrong - could it be because my keypad is a plain "Clicker", and not a "2U"? Mine sure looks like the one in the video...
I did all your steps and it worked as you said until the end. When I push 1 button the door opens/closes. I dont even get to enter my full code. Any suggestions?
Okay I was having this problem and this is where I went wrong - the 0 you hit at the end of you code will now be a part of your code so if you chose 1234 your code is actually 12340 and for about 20 or so seconds after programming it any number on the keypad will open/close the door. Some openers also require you to hit 0 twice. So following the instructions and after hitting the learn button - put in your code - hit 0 then hit 0 again. That may help. It helped me
@@UltraEgo09 I'm having the same issue. Tried both of these and it didn't help. When I put the first # of my code it opens the garage door. I have a Genie Pro Screwdriver
@@liftacar give us like 20 minutes after you do it. Like I said some openers will open the door when you hit any number after setting it for like 15 -20 minutes. If that doesn’t work I’m not sure. This is just what worked for me
@@UltraEgo09 First of all, you're amazing for replying so fast and i love you. Secondly, 20 minutes? lol, I thought you said 20 seconds in your previous post which I gave it 20 seconds and it still happened.
I can see that you get this comment a lot on this video. You saved me a boat load of frustration and I appreciate you creating this video you were the top result when I googled it! Extra credit for showing the manual page with which garage door opener ID code to use!!!
Oh man, I'm glad its getting to the people that need it! I too was extremely frustrated with the terrible explanation videos that don't show the keys. Thanks for the comment :)
0 is the "enter" key. Gee why didn't I just instinctively know that? No "program" button, no dedicated "enter" button. Who designed this thing? Thank you!

This video right here is amazing. Everything I needed. Way better than a manual. Thanks Danny!
Thanks for the comment jack! I too was sick of bad videos and manuals explaining this.
Yes, my thoughts exactly. Thanks Danny. The Clicker is working again.
Thank you for sharing this. The only clear explanation I could find anywhere! Has it working in a couple of minutes
Thanks for adding the code sheet. Very helpful.
Thanks ❤
You're a life saver!!! The model list was exactly what i needed! Thank you!
Everything you need to know, crucial part was to find the type of garage door and its ID - Manual link helped. Thanks Danny!

Worked where other instructions online and videos did not!!! Thank You Danny :))
This is the most helpful video on this. Your the only one who posted the codes and manual for the garage door opener.
Wow thank you!!! Also if anyone was confused at the end by the 0, just know that the 0 will always be your enter. At least for linear brands.

I’ve been trying to find this information for months. Thanks so much! Not sure why it’s so complicated and under lock and key. Thank you so much
Excellent and very simple instructions! Worked right away. Thank you!
Thank You @Danny Pop! Straight to the point this is exactly what I needed.
Fantastic video, you kept it short and sweet. More helpful than the manual.
Finally, a tutorial by a guy from this era.
Lol thats how I felt looking for videos on this too originally

Thank you Danny especially for putting in the garage door type.
Wow thank you for actually providing the code numbers, nobody else did that in their video
Thank you . . . Simple and exact. Done programming 2 openers and one keypad in 5 minutes.
How did you program 2 doors with one keypad? I’m at a loss!
Thank you very much! Worked perfectly.
I've got the same setup older opener also red botton, good that you have an i.d chart for the rest that have a different opener, thank you !!
This was a HUGE help. Thanks so much, Danny!!
Works perfectly, identifying the garage ID is most crucial. Thank you!
I programmed my overhead door keypad in real time watching this video. Excellent!
Thanks Danny! My KLIK2U is back working again thanks to you,
Thanks a bunch 🎉🎉 I couldn't remember the zero as I was having trouble getting into my front door.
Thanks for creating this video

Great idea to show the garage opener ID number in your video. Exactly what I was missing. Thank you.
whats the id good for?
Thank you. You are the only one that helped me with garage opener code.
You are welcome! All the videos I saw were confusing so I made this one.
Thank you very much I was getting frustrated, Now it works!
Your chart was the key, we have a new house with a yellow button, so type 8 for the win. Thanks
Thanks!! Works as explained! Saves me money on buying a clicker in Car for now lol

Thank you. Glad I found your tutorial - it saved my sanity.
Thank you Danny! This video is on point. Super easy to program my garage door now. Thanks again.
Thanks so much! We didn’t know our brand- kinda. So after a process of elimination on 4 tries- yeah we got it!😅
This is not working at all

I wouldn't put it past them to have a completely disparate system for a slight model difference. Sorry you couldn't get it working.
I took the keypad off the wall and there is a sticker on the back saying that it is a model KLIK2U-P2.
I looked at serval videos you had complete and basic instructions. Thank you.!
Great video! I never would have figured that dumb thing out without this video! Thanks, Danny!

Awesome information so kind of you to take the time to educate us on this confusing item

Thanks for this. The provided instructions are woefully inadequate.
We have a Genie. It takes pressing '0' three times, not once, not twice but Three times when you enter your code at the end with the zero. Good luck.

Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you thank you thank you! Great video especially that my lift master was code 2, no searching for it. Well don’t!
