Holy crap thank you making this video. I have been scouring the web since April when I installed mine...solar tracker parameters adjusted and life is even better. Thanks Solo Jim!
Hey Jim.....Jay here, we chatted a good long time ago now.......finally taking a few minutes to re-watch your video here and program my tracker properly. Wanted to thank you again for your video here and taking the time to make it for us all. Best wishes my friend
Great video, not like some others where they like to hear themselves talk... Gleaned more info from your video than the 3 or 4 previous videos watched...
Thanks for the information. Good video. Easy to understand. The Chinese directions are very hard to decipher but your video makes it clear and concise.
Jim, I guess that's your name. My name is Jim also. I have my Ecoworthy tracker set up, but I have lost one of the books and the instructions that I have do not tell me anything about the wiring. My brother Russ helped me put it in the ground and helped with some of the wiring and though I will never say anything bad about Russell, I think that he did muck up my wiring some. Is there any chance you could shed some BRIGHT LIGHT on how to wire it? I have the book that tells me how to program the unit, but I'm not even sure where the power hooks up I'm praying that you can help as I have called Ecoworthy and left a email a couple of days ago and haven't heard anything. Will you help a fellow out? Please.
Great video. I have a question, though. Since you times were already in the controller you did not have to actually set them. How do you do that? Do you use the other buttons to increase or decrease the amount?
I love the black paint and the tidy install of the wires. Very nice. Question though, do you think the noise when it moves would be distracting if it was in your backyard, say 15 meters from your house? I'm thinking of buying one but unsure because of the noise.
I never really notice the noise and when I do it makes me smile because it is doing it's job. It makes very small corrections throughout the day that are only 1 second or so. The only time it is longer is when it resets at low light. Yours will be about the same distance as ours from our cabin and I can say we definitely don't hear it in the cabin. Hope this helps.
I am not sure how to limit the travel. The sensor is going to follow the sun. Maybe you could play with where the sensor is mounted or put the tracker on a timer to turn off during that part of the day?
For the T10 setting..... If I don't want my unit to go to the farthest east point (the panel will hit something if it goes the last 5 degrees east), can I just shorten that time to where I want it to stop? I never want the unit moving the panels east past a certain point.
Yes, you can stop it at any point. You will just need to time it's movement to the point you want it to stop and enter that value into the settings. Thanks for watching!
Aiuto!!!!! E Grazie ancora!
Thank you. T5 is in the wind settings. I believe it should be at 0, so it sits flat in high wind. The Low Light Return settings are T8 for time ,T9, T10, T11 & T12 for direction. Skip to 5:47 in my video. Hope this helps.
I'm 72 and trying to read sideways, I'm off balance. They even redesigned the controller and had the opportunity to correct it and didn't! Mine will be horizontal. I'm starting the install today.@@solojimoutdoors
This is hard to believe but, when reading the User Manual (page 4) that came with my system it says "The main control box should be mounted near the base pile of platform, make sure it will not be under raining, sunlight and other environment affection. The wire outlet port should be downward to avoid rain water invasion." So they are saying it's not supposed to be out in the weather. I guess they don't know it gets mounted on the pole outside in the weather. Someone in the office should tell them! Then the diagram below the statement shows the controller to be mounted horizontally!@@solojimoutdoors
For sure :). I only get 4-5 hours of direct sun every day. The tracker really helps me make the most of it. Morning and late afternoon I only get partial sun and that is when I filmed. Thanks for watching!
This is the clearest video I've watched so far on programing the tracker. Better than the factory one. You explained so well even a caveman can do it.
That is very kind of you to say. Thank you for watching.

Thanks for all your figgurin and sharing this. I woulda never figgured it out by myself.

Glad it helped!
The East & West was backwards on mine as well....
Thanks for commenting. I hope it helps others. Mine has been working great and I am happy with the performance.
great video- thanks from UK
Thank you for the positive feedback!
Great video. I have a question, though. Since you times were already in the controller you did not have to actually set them. How do you do that? Do you use the other buttons to increase or decrease the amount?
You are correct. To adjust the setting, you will use the up arrow to increase time and the down arrow to decrease time. Thanks for watching.
🤔 do you have to reprogram for different seasons? I.e. summer vs winter?
Once it's programmed you should be good. You can reprogram the resting state if you wanted but as long as the sun's out it will find it.
The wind speed is set at 20 mph if you use .35v. It's V2 x 25 = m/s = mph. .35v x 25 = 8.75 m/s = 20 mph.
Thank you for the information. This will be helpful to others.
Exactly what I was looking for thanks ( just had actuator separate at full extension due to wind hitting the panels before it reset)

@@solojimoutdoors Thanks for the input! Do you think it could support a total four of those black panels that you have in a 2x2 pattern?
@@sampsalol 4 of those is probably too big. You have a 114" x 114" space to work with.
Any tips on how to limit travel to west or south while tracking sun? Want to avoid some shades on lower panels at afternoon
I am not sure how to limit the travel. The sensor is going to follow the sun. Maybe you could play with where the sensor is mounted or put the tracker on a timer to turn off during that part of the day?

Hi Jim ,my sun set return worked great for about 7 months , then quit going back to neutral position at night. Any suggestions why it is doing this?
Not sure. Check the settings and disconnect it from power and power it back up and see if that does the trick.
I check program , discount battery . Still having problems, Eco Worthy refuses to return phone calls , or e mail@@solojimoutdoors
Can I use this controller with dual axis slewing drive instead of actuator?
I am not sure what that is. That would be a question for Eco-Worthy.
Thanks

I can't believe they mount the controller sideways! Why not horizontal?
That is a great question. It mounts solidly, but you are right, why is it sideways? I never even thought about that.

4-5 hours of direct sun is all I get. Thanks for watching.
Thank you!
Just found out an hour ago , my east and west reversed.
I'm a newbie but, I dont get how this is useful if the unit is using Auto Tracking via the electronic eye.
I am not sure how the technology works, but it does. It follows the sun all day.
