I feel privileged to have been able to watch this inside look at the process. We saw Hans Zimmer in 2024 in Amsterdam and it was by far the greatest concert I've ever experienced! We're planning on another trip to Europe in fall, 2025 and really, really hope he's touring then. And I also hope that Czarina is performing with him; her beautiful voice brings tears to my eyes.
This video should be shown to anyone who thinks ticket prices are too high. Consider that these are all union musicians, so at least $300 per musician per day of rehearsal, at least $200 each per performance, plus cost of all that gear, the techs, the riggers who set it all up, the insurance etc....
This is what makes UA-cam my favorite source of media, when it goes right. This kinda of content would never be popular enough to be on TV or Netflix, but seeing the reality of the process is so beneficial for inspiration. Thank you to everyone involved in making this available for free.
The interstellar soundtracks, that's a masterpiece! They are a part of my life now! There isn't one day I don't listen to them! I'm emotionally attached to it! Thankyou Hans Zimmer for this amazing amazing masterpiece!
He has quite often said that he loves to do films because of the HC sound system the stuff gets played thru and what possibilities it gives. So I guess it fits he does not own crappy versions of he's stuff.
Helena Marie I think its very very hard to remember everything you compose especially when youre used to find new variations of the melody all the time ...
@Kelly Clarkson hes overrated at best and hardly a genius. His music is pure kitsch and simple. He doesn't even orchestrate his own music, and often the orchestration is the only thing that's good about it. A true genius, like Mahler for example, knows his music in and out. Mahler conducted his symphonies and he heard every note that wasn't played perfectly.
There's a beautiful chaos playing out on the rehearsals. Everyone is focused on their own thing, Hans is constantly jumping from one musician to another, there's the tuning problems, others are still deciding what variation of their instrument are going to play... Yet, when the backing track starts, everyone jumps in and works perfectly. Like unorganized ants which suddenly form a line and don't break formation. I love it Also the camera's mic is absolute trash. Sorry. Couldn't contain myself.
Honestly this is one of the most inspiring videos to watch as a musician. It shows how some descent work and good collaboration can achieve an amazing result from almost nothing. I've obviously first seen the concert in Prague and it looks like almost impossible production to put together. But then you see their first rehearsals in the studio and realize it's not much different from what you are used to: a lot of question, people trying out parts, the weird rehearsal studio sound. They all play regular instruments that everyone can buy in any music store and still in the end, after two weeks of rehearsing it all comes together and sounds just fantastic. Thank you the one who put this video here. It's something I really needed to watch. Stay inspired people and keep making good music!
I love how you can see how nervous Hans Zimmer looks when he walks to the stage, but as soon as he hears that little drum-part from Driving Miss Daisy, a switch is flipped inside him and he is as focused as can be.
Even though he's done it dozens of times at this point, he still gets really nervous right before he goes on. It was a cool little moment to capture, to just see it from his POV :)
It helps when the chemistry and energy radiate between everyone working! Thank YOU for taking the time to check it out and of course thanks to Hans and the band for being so open!
@@FilmMusicMedia Thank you. It's unfortunate though that you got access to only one camera in the practice studios. The panning of the camera sometimes is a bit troubling. But thanks, experience of a lifetime!
He is so good and relaxed. he got all this ideas and he listens to these very professional artists and gives them to play and adds their way of thinking to the real composure.. so open minded the real master of our time
It amazes me just how much Hans is involved in some of the seemingly minor details like guitar tunings and other such things that a composer of his stature normally wouldn't be bothered with. He enjoys his work and his fellow musicians and it shows. This is the kind of person I'd like to work with some day, but I just don't know that I'm good enough.
Well, we need more people like him, always, more people to come together to make music. So even if we don’t get to work with him, we can still join in spirit, join the mission ! 😎✌️🤘❤️
He improvised his own music. Always riffing. Always creating and utilizing ideas from other band members while magically integrating it into his music without hatcheting their input but keeping their purity to make intrinsic with his original root creation and gently exploding into a melodious 10 minute epic. Sorry if this jibber sounds like a poem, but the music made me SAY SOMETHING. So there.....
Listening to a music for 5 or 10 minutes and getting critical of being good or bad... when we don't realise how much world of efforts this musician put their heart n soul to bring them alive... Hats off👍
This shows you played was life-changing events . Every day I wish I can travel back in time just for that moment to be here. Keep the orchestra at work, come and play more and more shows like this.
the last MASTER DIRECTOR/PLAYER/WRITER/.....all in1 one person!!!... BE glad that every single person in that room will be grateful in the future to share a time with #hanszimmer
I've admired Han's work from hi is film scores and seeing him live in Nashville. But seeing him, his band and crew [and the real; genuine interaction with them] makes my appreciation for Han all that much deeper!
@@augierivera3290 Never got to see this one live, but saw "Live in Prague" in a cinema in Dolby Atmos, it was incredible. However I was a bit disappointed by "The World of Hans Zimmer" in concert recently, partly because of the songs choice but maybe also because I had huge expectations from this one...
Man, to me as an amateur musician this is so inspiring. Seeing all these highly skilled musicians collaborate and communicate with music so impressive. Instead of spending billions of dollars for the military, can't we put a huge chunk of that money into music? What a nice world this could be.
FearOfTheFuture this was pre the 2017 tour. There was also a 2016 tour so while some band members in 2017 were new there was a code that were there for 2016. And I'm pretty sure in 2015 there were some shows too...
After listening to this magnificent Prague concert you can now realise just how much time and hard work from a collection of great musicians is required to put on a show like that. Just incredible.
Hans knows his talents, i mean in this All Access video you see Nile Marr and Molly Rogers who now are part of the band in 2023 and doing a great job at it :D
I really enjoy watching the process of putting together this beautiful music. 'Behind the scenes' videos fascinate me! HANS ZIMMER is a genius! Another musical genius is CHRISTOPHER VON DEYLEN, of SCHILLER. I would love to see footage of him putting together his musical creations, preparing for shows, interviews, etc. This UA-cam channel has some amazing, informative content! 💘
What a fabulous thing to watch. Absolutely stunning to see it all develop and progress into what must have been a stunning show. I must find more like this if there is any. Thank you.🍷🍷
Boggles the mind how one composer can get so many parts and instruments to sync up for each piece. Something about this process just strikes me as beyond practical
Thank you, Danke and Merci for looking behind the scene! Brings back the BEST!!! feelings (April 16, 2016 and June 9, 2017 Hans Zimmer live) and looking joyful forward to James Newton Howard live(Nov. 23, 2017 and Dez. 1, 2017). Filmmusic live capture the world...justified! Please more! Love Aurora!
I stumbled across this with one eye open at about 5 a.m. and what a way to wake up in the morning it feels like I just stepped inside a Rolex watch and saw the creation of a masterpiece. This truly makes me proud to be a musician and part of the musical family of musicians. I feel spiritually invigorated after watching this I will now close my eyes again and fall into a slumber of bliss.

To true!
+ the time they did learning and enhancing their skill
Is that the UK musicians union?
His approach is soooo collaborative. He wants everyone's input.
Because he feels like a fraud at the moment. such an honest man
Teamwork is the key! ;)

Watching this makes me miss being in band. The best thing I’ve ever been part off.

Up to recently, I sat down and played it every night before I went to bed. My husband calls it 'The Hymn'.
29:53 Hans pirates himself, amazing 😂
"...so I go to UA-cam" that killed me lmao
He has quite often said that he loves to do films because of the HC sound system the stuff gets played thru and what possibilities it gives. So I guess it fits he does not own crappy versions of he's stuff.
Incredible how much work goes into putting on shows like this
especially with composers who don't know their own music and have to ask others for the chords.... 😂

the thing about Hans Zimmer as he creates ideas and story with his music, he fabricated emotions with a simplicity that is why I like him!
28:20 "Help an old German out, even tho we lost the War, just play the first four chords of Inception."
XD
I've actually seen the whole documentary at least five times, this is the sixth. I don't know, it's so fascinating
As a musician, I would love to work with Hans Zimmer in the future...
That'll be a dream come true!
He is the best ever. I would drop out off nursing school to travel as a band performer for him.

Thanks for all musicians hard working and bring us such wonderful concert! A love from China and hope to hold a concert in China
Also, prayers for the monitor mix engineer XD

This was fun to watch, I wish there were more. Masters at work for sure.

Seen the live show and some of these awesome people performed. Beautiful performances! Zimmer's such a humble guy.
Oh....What a hard work for the perfect performance
this is so awesome to watch how everyting comes together, it really is
I think “pirates” is super cheesy but “interstellar” is one of the greatest soundtracks of all time.
Still genius though right? Agreed about interstellar is just stirs up the emotions!
