    Great little video, very informative. Like one of the other viewers I wasn't sure how to connect the plasma to the CNC, I've been looking in the wrong place! There are a few relays lined up on mine so it shouldn't take long to find the right one.
    Thanks for taking time to make the video.

    3 phase is all 3 colours if i was wiring it to 2 phases , i would have used Black and Red because that is the 2 colours for North Amrican 240 volt single or 2 phase the white is normally used for Neutral which is linked in the breaker panel to Ground. Probably the reason they used red black white is because the wire was handy to use but 3 phase wire is Black, Red, Blue

      Thank you.
      I was thinking.
      White= neutral
      Green= safety earth.

      I’m currently out on the road but I’m gonna say off the top of my head I used a 30 but that was the same circuit that I had for my power Max 65 also I didn’t run both of them at the same time of course. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

      That helps a lot actually we were thinking we needed and 80 amp breaker from everything we saw in the manual. Thank you for your help @@TRCa51

    with the 65 can you order the powermax 45s power cord instead of getting the 65s wired up by an electrician?

    • @TRCa51
      @TRCa51  8 років тому

      +cliff Crosby You will need to talk to Hupertherm about that. Not hard to wire on your own though!

    Hey tim I have a powermax 65 and a torchmate table.
    My question is my hypertherm doesn't not have a CNC port. Where can I get one?
    How do I put it in, or is there a different powermax 65 model?

    • @TRCa51
      @TRCa51  9 років тому

      I ordered mine with the port! I do believe Hypertherm sells a kit to convert and Non CNC port unit to a CNC port unit! Give Hypertherm tech support a ring and I'm sure they can help you out!

    • @TRCa51
      @TRCa51  Рік тому

      The powermax 65 will pierce half inch steel to start the cut! Edge start for 5/8”. I hope this answered your question?

      @@TRCa51 I ordered a powermax 65 and didn’t think I would get it, so I ordered a powermax 85 and now I have both. On the forum I am on a guy quoted that the 65 is edge start. I was unsure what he meant.
      I get it now, above a certain thickness then yes it’d be edge start. I really don’t think I’ll cut anything above 3/8”. I was asking him do I keep the 85 for my cnc table or should I sell it and run the 65. I will be mostly cutting 14g signs and 3/8” brackets.

      @@trialnterror I have cut quite a bit of 3/8 inch with mine! Once you really get it set up great, it makes for such a nice cut!

    Using the remote cable from Hypertherm, how is it connected to your controller for torch on/off? I have a Gecko G540, and would be grateful if you could assist.

    • @TRCa51
      @TRCa51  7 років тому +1

      Once you have your Hypertherm unit you should get an schematic of with pins that fire the torch. If you get the remote cable it is already wired for torch fire with a momentary switch. Cut the wire and there will be two wires that hook up to your controller for torch fire. It doesn't matter witch ones go where. On the torch mate its a two wire hookup. If you don't know witch outputs on your Gecko 540 google it of consult with Gecko witch controller output is for torch fire and then hook up the two wires and you should be in business! Hope this helps!

      Yes it was in my box. Its just a air paper filter that you can get on line for around 5 us dollars. The same type you would use at the end of your air line before a paint spray gun.

      +CoCmndr I just bought the package deal set up for CNC through a vender. The rocker was included it the kit not the cable. So I made use of what I had in the kit and made it work! I can't think of a time the I would need to use the rocker switch in set up, prototyping and production. Yes I am an Engineer, Machinist, welder and fabricator! Thank you for the comment!

    • @TRCa51
      @TRCa51  8 років тому

      Both the black wire and the white wire are hot. No positive negative here. That is the setup for 220v operations.
