You are a genius. Here I am looking at $100 cabinets on Chewy lol I knew UA-cam was the place to go. Thank you 🙏
Chewies is expensive and the quality is not that great. You might want to look at Facebook marketplace too for furniture that you can customize into a hidden litterbox if you're wanting to go down this path. You can sometime find free grabs.
Absolutely no reason to spend money on a litter box cabinet from Chewie or anywhere else. There are DIY instructions all over the net for making a hideaway litter box from anything including box benches TV Cabinets
And I don’t recommend using “disposable litter boxes“. That means that the cat will poop and poop and poop and PNP and P until it gets thrown away. For the cat safety it’s better to reuse a plastic pan and scoop the crap at least twice a day. Everyone’s cat at least deserves that much cleanliness.
I do not have a cat but I clicked on this to tell you that's genius.
Klaus is adorable! Such a natural on camera star!
He's a natural!!!
I totally have this item, I have been debating on tossing it and have brrn trying diy litter box options with no luck. I will for sure be trying this out thank you for posting!!!
This is brilliant! I have a small gate to keep my dog from going into the basement where the litter box is, but my cat's arthritis has gotten too bad to jump over it. All of the "hidden" litter boxes that you can buy are either too easy access for the dog or hard access for the cat. But this...THIS is perfect. Thank you!
I also have had issues trying to find the right option to keep the dog away. Just bought the supplies online. Can't wait to try it!
For everyone doing this, you may want to add some tape along those cut plastic edges or melt it down with a heat gun. Just getting my arm scratched by the plastic edges hurt, so I can only imagine how a naked cat or even a cat with fur may feel if they're jumping in or crawling out.
I have told so many people that
Or use sanding block
We just did this yesterday! Genius! Thank you for posting!
Thank you for all the useful tips
Thank you! this was so helpful!!
From experience this has been great for me. Thanks for showing
I’m glad you found it helpful!

Wow, that’s a great idea and your step by step was really helpful.
Thank you! I hope people find it helpful it’s such a great litter box! Klaus loves it!
@@avenuealex2554 but what Do I do if I forgot the step?
@@jbear330 It should be ok!
@@avenuealex2554 he loves it! Thank you again lol
Purrrfection!! Just picked one up today after seeing a similar one on tic-tock 🤗😁 the one I found was navy at Walmart for $17 a tad larger but works great thanks for the tutorial!! My 3 are sniffing it over as I type cant wait to get going!!
I love this brilliant idea. Going to try it out soon. Thanks hun! ❤️
The duct tape can peel up and catch on the cats fur, and will get scratched up and worn down over time. Instead use a torch to melt the sharp edges. Melted plastic fumes are toxic though so do it outside and be safe with the torch.
We've been using this since this video was posted. I don't put a pan in the bottom, I just fill the drawer with litter. It's easy enough to remove the entire drawer to change out the litter. We're also not set up for the bottom and side cut for the access, so we simply removed the middle drawer and use the drawer under our couch to store stuff. We use World's Best Cat Litter and have *never* had an issue with odors. This is the best litter box hack ever. It also helped our senior kitty to keep her butt inside the box. As they get older they can't squat well. She was overhanging her original box and accidentally peeing over the edge. This hack has the frame going all around the drawer. Kitty felt that forcing her to move more into the box without her butt hanging over the side. It was a game changer.
How do you clean the drawer? Doesn’t it just suck up the pee over time and become disgusting? Did you put an insulating layer inbetween?
@@matchgripmatchgrip3712 The drawer is plastic, just like any kitty litter pan is made of. The drawers are easily removable. To clean it, simply pull the drawer open. Remove it to completely dump it and/or wash it out.
Great idea
Oh? How cool!
I love you for this ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you for sharing
Thats a cool idea. Surprised you didn't cut out the top draw too. My cats like to sit up and they are big. lol
Love this!! I definitely making this
Making this today! Wish me luck
I have storage drawers and the materials mentioned & will be attempting to make this cat covered litter box for my daughters cat! He's scattering litter and playing in his litter box. Help meeee. Hope this works. Thankkkk You!!
That cat is nekkid. 🤣🤣
great tutorial,done subs and like..
This is genius
You could probably just use the bottom drawer as the litter box itself rather than putting a box inside of it. Cleaning maybe harder tho
Hey yall I saw this and went for it ...except I used 4 drawer bit taller but whatever. Below I saw a few posts about cutting the hole being a problem. I know leave it to a man to bring power tools in but that said jig saw with wood blade BUTTER BABBBBBY use the outside to hole level after all your cutting out center. As you get close to end of circle hole center piece it's a flapper by now. So clean I don't even need duct tape.
Awesome feedback! Thank you!
Does this help reduce the litter being flung everyone?
Klaus at 1:57-“Can’t a guy get any privacy around here?” 😛
Funny, but cats are the opposite. They prefer to be out in the open where they can see everything so they can feel safe while in a vulnerable position. It's the same when they're eating. Tucking the box out of sight is for human convenience/comfort only. Don't confuse tolerance for preference. This is the first thing that'll have to go if your cat suddenly stops using the box all together. How do you like the smell of a portapotty? Same deal here. They're literally surrounded by their stink. Of course they're not going to love this. I really hate seeing cats come back to the shelter because they have "behavioural issues" that are almost always because of an uneducated owner :(
I love his name!!
hi-im thinking about doing this but i’m worried about the smell being worse with this than with a traditional litter box. how would you say the smell is? has it changed or stayed the same?
I would say it’s the same as a normal litter box. It’s definitely not worse than a normal litter box. but Sphynx cats are known for having extra stinky #2s
How cute I have a canadien Sphinx cat myself and she can fill up a litter box 🤢🤮but unfortunately this is a little to small but totally a great diy 🥳
I love this idea so I made one for my cat .My cat would not get into the side so then I made him a ramp so that he understood to go up it to go in it but he wanted nothing to do with it long story short I did a lot of hard work for nothing I guess my cat didn’t think it was as cool as I did
OMG
I've done this but I'm struggling to find a box that fits well inside the drawer. Help!
I'm going to thr store right now lol
How much was that box
If anyone from the UK knows where I can buy a similar set of drawers, that would be great!! I’ve been looking EVERYWHERE and cannot find anything that would work without forking out a lot of money.
It looks quiet expensive to ship these to the UK from Amazon. Do you have anything similar to a Target near you? If not you could look up ikea litter box hacks. Similar concept but it’s not plastic and you need a certain saw. But could be worth looking into for ideas.
I have two cats and need to disguise their litter boxes. any ideas for more than one
Possibly try two? I have seen some hidden litter box ideas with ikea furniture that might allow you to put 2 litter boxes inside. But unfortunately they require more heavy duty tools like an electric saw
Thanks for responding. I will have to look into options. I just found out that I'm putting too much liter in their boxes at once...
Do a cut on both sides and make them side by side ❤double entrance n middle connected also they got big draws like these in larger sizes
How do you get the plastic to cut?? It won't work for me
Use a sharp exacto knife. Put cardboard or something under it so you don't mess up the floor. You have to push hard to puncture the plastic. Be careful!
@blaze cales see my post above perfection 👌
Ide keren beb
All the pointing is abit weird..
It's very convenient and looks really Chic but I feel like you did not think about the animals comfort at all and more only about what you wanted it to look like the cat look like he was struggling to get in and out and I can just imagine how it has to bend in there to s*** but people are s***** to animals so I'm not really surprised
Anyone else thinks this litterbox is a little too small for her cat?
It’s not and he enjoys the privacy
@@avenuealex2554 that's good just looked a little small at first but those things can get pretty big.
…… I know you’re not storing your cats food directly above where they poop. 😑
They literally lick their own butts
T y... I noticed you have a baby food UA-cam ( human).
I fed my 🐈 chick. baby food as it was easier for her. Easier for her to heal as it was easier for her to digest her meals so her energy could be utilized for healing her little body.
pretty sloppy cutting but looks like it works
I do not want my cat food stored where he poops. Also, that thing looks a bit too cramped for the cat to do his business.Sorry, my cat is a princess even though he is a male.He needs room to fo his business. ❤❤😊😊I think he is the reincarnation of a real Princess.I think its Grace Kelly.
😂
You can definatly tell it was done by a woman ☕️
Putting all that heavy “storage stuff in a plastic drawer organizer is dangerous unless it’s secured to the floor or a wall
