I think the interlude or middle eighth in this song is one of the greatest things I've ever heard. The bit when H sings "A ragged man came shuffling through the corridors of this white place". Mark Kelly's little flashes of piano are just stunning in that bit. Such good songwriters and instrumentalists.
i remember this tour , i never saw fish, but loved marillion , i loved this album with hogarth. but fish will always be king. but bless them for reinventing ....and it worked.
One of my favorite bands of all time! one of favorite songs as well! this is BRILLIANT! i've seen them live many times and they sound F*cking amazing! thanks for posting!
I remember being 14 or 15 years old, I had heard of Marillion so thought i would put it on (we only had 4 channels then dont forget), that one instance started my love affair with Marillion, they blew my mind watching this and they have continued to grow better over the years
I'm a Leicester native and old time Marillion fan so I was in this crowd that night. Would love to see that whole gig again. Just watching this one song brought the memories flooding back. I was sure I remembered the entire stage being masked by a huge white sheet : you could hear the intro start up, the band hidden by the sheet, then the sheet suddenly dropped as it kicked in. You dont see that here but... but... I also seem to remember they played a few numbers *before* the TV cameras went live so maybe I am remembering correctly? Anyone else who was there that night who can confirm all of this or otherwise then please do let me know 😃
My favorite tune of "Season's End", and also my favorite Hogart-era album along with "Afraid Of Sunlight". I am more like a Fish-era Marillion fanboy, but i really love the first couple of lps thath mister H did with the band... im not so found on their later material, but i still enjoy some songs.
just saw them live once with Fish as lead vocal and front man but Steve has done a superb job in replacing him. Great band, great quality, great voice, great profissionalism. Long live Marillion. (my nbest bands are camel and Jethro Tull, but Marillion are in the top 5)
This is in my top 5 favorite songs ever, and I remember so vividly seeing them perform this on that tour. But they've got such a habit of playing so fast live - they sure know how to crank out an 8 minute song in just over 6 (yeah, I know you skipped the intro).
Agreed... and kinda ironic really. I mean, the Fish era was Marillion's best, don't think anyone would argue that, but also I reckon H's first 4 studio albums with the band added something special to that. Sadly the rest paled into insignificance for me, but I still haven't heard "Sounds That Can't be Made", so here's hoping for better things....
should Marillion have changed tits name when changed singer, andcould have become one of the best bands ever. Just because they didn't, perhaps Marillion are now one of the most under-rated prog rock, neo-prog-rock bands ever. love them. they are just great not withlyrics only, but also musically. greatingsfrom a 50 years old Marillion fan from Portugal.

This is one of the best Marillion songs.
Excellent concert and song! I love the Seasons End album.

Incredible performance. Hoggarth is spot-on, and such a natural singer. Spectacular - thanks, mate!
I love you, Marillion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excelente!Maravilha!
When I first saw this I didnt know what to think....more into Fish's direction but still good
Brilliant - Steve Hogarth is the best thing to have happened to Marillion
Maravilha!

Man, thanx a lot for letting this through light! Any chance to get this full video over the net?

Seriously, Hograth has more vocal talent than Fish and this number proves it beyond all doubt.
Agree. Whereas lyrically Fish wins it. Both eras are fantastic. And I use the present tense advisedly!
The full concert used to be here, what happened?
Curious what is Steve Hogarth referring to when he sings 'before the 27th came"? Is it just a simple lyric or does it refer to an event? Love to know.
tiananmen :,(
Não concordo com o que disseste! Musicalmente permaneceram os mesmos, mas gosto mais do ocal do Hogarth e ele tem maior beleza!!!
