I was talking to my mom (who’s a nurse and also someone who gives great calming advice) about how weird and scary it was to see everything close/cancel/shutdown bc it never happens, and an important thing she said was - yes, we never have (at least in the US) shut down everything like this for any other pandemic or viral disease outbreak, but in those times so many more people were infected/died and the outbreak was much less controlled. it’s weird and scary seeing the world come to a halt but this is the safest and best thing we could be doing, and hopefully it’s something that will feel less weird/scary and seem like more of a natural reaction in the event of any other future pandemic or outbreak. hope this helps anyone who’s had horrible anxiety during this time like me:)

I think it is a scary time. Have you even heard what's going on in Italy? People are dying. The world economy is in absolute chaos. People's businesses will go bankrupt. Nurses and doctors are working so hard every single day.

it honestly feels so disorienting, like all of a sudden I'm basically on house arrest and I'm nervous to go anywhere, and EVERYTHING IS shut down, when like 2 days ago I was out and about and not scarred at all. Since graduating college I kind of have felt like I have been stuck/on pause a bit, but at the same time the world kept moving and while I was unsure of my future I kind of had the reliability that the world was kind of somewhat predictable and moving on like it always had in similar patterns that were the normal, now everything is kind of just....stopped. Feels so weird and unreal.

The kits look like so much fun!! Colleen, idk if you’ll see this, but another project that you might like is making homemade borax crystals! They look kinda like geodes. I’ve been doing this to pass the time while at home and be creative and they make great gifts, decorations, jewelry etc. basically you shape pipe cleaners into literally any size or shape you want(I highly recommend not leaving gaps), put them in a container with *hot* *hot* water with *butt tons* of Borax dissolved into it and food coloring of your choice, let it soak for 8+ hours with it suspended in the glass so that it doesn’t touch the inside of the container on either side, repeat once or twice for extra crystal coverage, coat in a clear coating of your choice and voila!!! Beautiful homemade crystals. There’s tutorials all over UA-cam. It’s easy and fun and so satisfying to make something so pretty. Sorry if this suggestion/explanation was all over the place! 💜 I’m both social distancing and on my period so I’m going kinda nuts but hope you can try this and enjoy yourself! Love you #1 Momma 🥰
