  • In this episode I build up a new 2020 Banshee Paradox V3 hardtail frame that I got in for review. A bunch of you contacted me saying you were curious about this bike, so I figured I'd get one in for review. Thank you Banshee for sending us this sweet frame.
    Banshee claims "Aggressive geometry, combined with our bespoke hydroformed tubeset and internally ribbed stays, the Paradox V3 delivers a comfortable ride with vertical compliance and incredible power transfer due to best in class lateral stiffness." Let's put it to the test to see if this bike lives up to these claims.
    To learn more about the frame, head here: www.bansheebikes.com/paradox-v3
    Stay tuned for more videos with this bike, including a full review at the end.

    The most supple riding alloy ht i have had was the older yelli screamy frames. The round tubes on thre front triangle allowed it to flex at the head tube giving it a little cushion but they also cracked there

    I have a Wheels Manufacturing BSA BB with the angular bearings, this is a great BB! I completely agree that it’s not about weight . I have them mounted on 35 mm rims so they are a full 2.8. They are light, fast rolling, and have a pretty good amount of grip at this width.

But after your wheel size video i'm not so sure now, so will wait to get your impressions. Keep up the amazing work.

      I'm running 29" wheels at the moment, but I'll toss on my 27.5+ wheels too for the review. I like mullet setups if your trails are super steep, but if they're flat and pedally, I prefer non-mullet.

    I have a preference for steel hardtails myself, however, after riding a few aluminium ht I've noticed they don't all ride as harsh as I imagined. For instance my old 97 Specialized Rockhopper was a super harsh ride you felt every rock and root as a sharp ping. On the other hand an old GT Richochet I rode, for a while, seemed more muted in the same conditions. It will be interesting to hear how this Alu frame rides vs your Ti frame. I've wanted a Ti frame for, uh, ever! Steel is still cheaper, so my latest is a Cotic Soul. I'm still getting it put together.

    • @hardtailparty

      I used to ride a cotic soul. I liked that bike.

    • @patchesthejaybird8431
      @patchesthejaybird8431 4 роки тому

      @@hardtailparty The Soul, with its 835 steel main triangle, is very light weight compared to most 4130 Chromo frames, about a pound lighter. Mine is a 5th gen with a slacker, lower geo, I'm hoping I like the way it rides. I'm switching from a more traditional early 2000's frame geometry, my old Xero Flux, a rebadged KHS True Temper frame. I enjoy that bike, but would like something a bit more capable, and able to run wider, tubeless tires (at lower pressures), for better grip and a slightly more compliant ride. It would be nice to ride my tires with at least 10 lbs less pressure. By the way, I really enjoy your channel. Keep it up!

      @hardtailparty  4 роки тому +1

      If you were to purchase everything brand new at full retail, it would be extremely expensive. $950 for the fork, $2000 for the wheels, $430 for the dropper, and the rest of the components cost at least $900. Fortunately, there are cheaper ways to build this up and still have great performance. There's no need to go all-out like this. And building up a frame piece by piece is always more expensive than buying a complete bike.
