Can we just admire that newly acquired camera skills tho. B-ROLL! This was by far the best and most suspenseful reveal for an endorsement, I was getting so frustrated at the beginning. Congratulations Gabe!!
can’t even picture you using the old kit anymore, feels like a super natural change and you seem super comfortable! super happy for you bro, thanks for inspiring us
Congrats, Gabe!! That kit sounds amazing already! I'd name it oyster, cuz its a Pearl and you know that pearls come from oysters.... I'll show myself out.
Kit sounds amazing Gabe! Its been so cool to watch your progress over the years, such a big inspiration to me. And I’m glad that you have some stellar companies backing you now 🤘🏼
I started out on an Export kit as a 16 year old in 1986 and have loved that brand ever since. I play Gretsch now, but still have that snare from those days. Congratulations to you, Sir and may you rock the stage with 🔥 on your future shows.
I cried a little when I saw you went with Pearl!!!!!! All of my favorites use Pearl, and a few of my friends who tour use them, and now I do as well 🤙🏽 congratulations on your endorsement with such a great company man 👊🏽
Lol you put “Dangit”cuz you hit a rim once in that sick solo😂 I love that you acknowledge your flaws and are honest about growing from what you once thought about your drums. Congrats on the endorsement man👍
Good choice! I play Pearl drums, from the basic Compact Traveller, then Midtown, Export, and a Decade Maple snare drum. From affordable to more expensive, they are all highly useable pieces of equipment. Good balance of punch, low end and cut.
I knew it was PEARL yesss Congrats.... I'm gonna be sooo happy to see this kit in future vids because i love the reference series I have a kit of my own... Congrats again on the signing and the set.... Praying and hoping that this will take you a level you never imagined. Keep up the great work!!! Stay safe and healthy!!!
Congrats on the new Pearl kit Gabe! They look and sound awesome! Looking forward to many years of great vids with them! I've owned 4 Pearl kits throughout the years. I still have 2 of them. Enjoy!
Damn dude those floor toms are insane! Definitely my favourite part of your kit. Congrats on the endorsement, I also have no idea who makes the best drums but pearl are definitely up there!
Great choice, Gabe! I have a Pearl myself for already 12 years (I'm 22 now) It's a high-end vintage drumkit from the early 60's and it sound freakin' incredible. It actually is a jazz kit but it sounds just amazing in every genre and tuning range. Your video made me think about how amazing Pearl's craftmanship actually is. Keep up the great drumming, man!
How do you feel playing a 2 up, 2 down kit after 1 up, 1 down had been played for 11 years? Amazing drums, congratulation! You absolutely deserve this support from an amazing brand Pearl is!
It feels like I'm on a playground haha! Having a lot of fun with it. I think live I'd go 1 up 2 down because I do so much "crash-riding", but having 2 rack toms in-studio is a blast!
I'm 68 , after a 50 year hiatus from playing drums, i recommenced last year. Im playing solely for fun bc I WON'T BE GINGER BAKER OR STEWART COPELAND and with some arthritis in the hands, knees and elsewhere, limits are real. I have been watching lots of vids about drums and drumming over the past year. Also signed up for Drumeo program to learn drumming. Way back when , in the days of late 60s and 70s, there were for the most part, a few drum makers. Ludwig, Pearl, Slingaland, Gretch, maybe a few more that I can't recall now. Not sure when Tama came on the scene and Yamaha came latervtoo. Now the vast array of drums out there is simply overwhelming and at the same time fantastic. I have a cheap kit tgat my wife gifted to me at xmas 2018 as a surprise. If i wanted upgrade as i improve, i dont know where to start. I know that i won't be playing with Chicago, or Blood Sweat & Tears, or Santana , or Ten Years After (RIP Alvin Lee), Blind Faith (RIP Ginger Baker), but i could play for CCR, Meloncamp, even maybe Petty(RIP Tom Petty). Happy Drumming to all. Advise about upgrade kits are appreciated. Unfortunately with COVID limitations , i can't go to various Music stores (Sam Ash, etc) , to try out new and used kits. Hopefully that changes sooner rather than later. Stay Safe !!
Name her Sylvia! Beautiful kit, I play a Mapex birch kit but my ears perked up for Pearl when I saw periphery live and Matt was rocking his new reference kit!
I associate Pearl players with some kind of KISS tribute band. I think of them, perhaps wrongly, as foreign garbage that does many things passably but nothing truly well. Dennis Chambers though... So what do I know?
It's a beautiful drum set Gabe, awesome color! I'm a beginner and I'm learning on an Alesis electronic drum set. I love watching your instructional videos and I try to play along. But I have a loong way to go! Enjoy your new kit! 😁🥁
I almost got an SJC heirloom then I almost got a Pearl Masters...Loved Pearl growing up cause of Neil Peart. Had a Tama Rockstar in the 90s. But I finally bought a DW Performance! Over the weekend....its on the way!!! Lol Crazy I just purchased a TD27. Now I got both an electronic and acoustic to practice with! No excuse with night and day!!! Congrats Gabe!!!
I just bought a pearl reference 6-piece too, same sizes, but not the pure. I am in love it. The Pure has got a bit more low end, looking forward to seeing more videos of yours with it!
Pearl has always produced great drums in my opinion. My very first kit was a pearl elx and graduated into the masters series as my drum career progressed. I have played tons of other brands but always found myself resorting back to the Pearl's
Holy shit that mix sounds amazing! Pearl will be glad to have Gabe as an artist because of his transparency and honesty that is very much lacking in the industry. He has certainly made me more interested.
Thinking of getting into pearl drums myself. The kit sounds awesome! Love the 18x16 floor tom, and really everything about the kit! The ability to customize the drums looks really helpful and fun!
I know you pointed out at the end that you really haven’t really played around much with the tuning, but that said, the Ayotte’s sounded absolutely beautiful. They had such a rich tone.
Sounds amazing dude! Just found out the aus tour has been postponed till next year. Not too unexpected but still a bummer. So keen to see you guys live in Brisbane!!
Great choice! It sounds awesome too. I have been impressed with the quality of Pearl's hardware; my boom cymbal stand is so easy to set up. I play Tamas, but who knows what's next. Thanks for the tour!
Congrats man. This is epic. Pearl is phenomenal. It suits you and the profile of your band...... Those wood combos make a difference. Wow. That snare is amazing. You must do a video showcasing it's tuning range with a bunch of different heads too. If you can..... Keep it up. Keep on rocking. You deserve this.
As a former Pearl player. I love this new kit. I currently play a Crush Chameleon 8 piece. And would love to sign with Pearl. Pearl Drums. The best reason to play drums.
I am a Ludwig guy myself but the kit does sound quite good. Never been a huge pearl fan tho but however you have it tuned and that particular rig sounds good.
Hey Gabe! I’ve been a pear fan for over 20 years and I’ve tried every head imaginable and I would recommend Evans. I don’t know why but they just work with what Pearl does. And it’s not just me most of my favorite guys use pearl and almost all of them run Evans. Get an Emad for the kick and hold onto your throne !!
Great looking drums, Gabe! Just bought myself a Roland e kit and I’m going to learn to play myself! Glad to see how well you are doing. Was also blown away when I found out you were the drummer for I Prevail! You rock man!
Congrats on the endorsement. I personally loved the sound of your Ayottes. Im from Vancouver, and have played and heard a fair share of Ayotte drums. And absolutely drool for them. Cheers Gabe ! And hope to see more linear fill lessons in the near future.
I have to say it looks amazing love the setup changing from 4pc to 6pc I find it’s the best more fills and decent sound of playing Gabe hope you’re enjoying them.

One up two down would be awesome
Drum Beats Online yeaaaa I have one up 3 down. A 2nd snare lol
