@@jameshancox1 Of course, for something the samplers were the sound of the 80s, they were what software today, they could do multitracks and have the sounds of a dx, oberheim, prophet, junos, vocal choirs, noises and processed percussions and have a complete song in an emax or eps, you are doing a great job, it is necessary to vindicate the old and not so old samplers
@@Zithorzh I have allot of the original library’s they were used to death in the 80s and early 90s. There is something about the emu samplers maybe the ad converters that makes them very musical. It also has a full synth engine with loads of filter types and 3 envelopes
As Jimi says, get SCSI2SD. It will require some set up, but once you have it going its great for old hardware samplers. I share one SCSI2SD between my ESI4000 and ESI32.
This thing sounds incredible.
Essentially with the correct sound library’s it can be all of the emu rompers and more
Really good work.
Thank you, I wanted to showcase just how good this sampler and library’s are
Amazing sounds!!
To think they were sampled in the 80s? A great time to do it in hindsight when the synths were relatively new

Nice screen/backlight on your ESI
Today I dusted my ESI 4000 off and started looking for USB - SCSI adapter. Maybe this time I'll use the Emu properly
Go for scsi2sd

Smooth...but how did you get the Formula 4000 cdrom material onto the esi 4000? That's my question! ❤
I think when I made this video they were on a zip disk I had, now I have transferred to SCSI2sd using translator
@@jameshancox1Do you think the 4000 series files could be put to use on another sampler? But somehow keep the mappings etc?
@@dpalaoro not sure, some samplers read different formats, ie the emu reads akai
@@jameshancox1 oh interesting, okay, i didn't know emu samplers read akai natively. So if I have a MPC1000 I wonder if it's reverse compatible.
@@dpalaoro unsure, you would need something on it which reads disk images. Or maybe use chicken systems translator
where did you get the libraries of samples? I' looking to buy an esi4000 locally for 100 euro...probably worth it right?
Good price, you will need full 128 memory and scsi2sd instead of floppys
confused is this a esi32 or esi4000
It is a esi4000 with an esi32 front plate
