Watching your videos is motivating me to just throw on some warm layers and get out there and do a few projects. They show an interest in helping in the gardens. I am thinking of making them a little garden section like you made Benjamin that they have total control over with supervision of course. Minnesota is also getting temps in the mid 40's to 50, and plants that should be staying dormant is awakening already with green growth. The air even smells like SPRING here! The trouble with perennials breaking dormancy far too early in zone 4 is that temps won't stay consistently mild until May and a cold snap will kill off the new growth. The average high for Minnesota right now is 25 F. Interesting days we garden in, that's for sure!

Agastache Apache Sunset is an amazing plant. The blooms are trumpet shape in sunset colors, naturally. It is always full of pollinators and humming birds. It has constant blooms until killing frost. The leaves are thin with a gray/blue/green color. When you brush against it, it smells like ROOTBEER! Good for tea. I've had several years of success in my yard. I'm growing more for the church flower garden with seeds I got from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds.

Anise Hyssop is a great plant in so many ways! I have had it in my front bed for close to 20 years from one purchased plant. It is so hardy here in 7a and reseeds readily, a bit too readily sometimes. It grows 4 to 5 feet tall in my front flower bed. I often cut it back to be able to see out the front porch! The marvelous part is the gold finches love it not to mention the bees and butterflies. It provides summer, fall and winter interest in the garden. I let them stand for the winter and the gold finches always visit and enjoy the treat. I am envious of your roses. Mine seem to lose most their leaves in the winter, I am not sure why. They leaf back out in the spring. I am excited to see your gardens mature and to experience all the inspiration you bring to each and every video. Simply marvelous.

So fun that you're starting to do more medicinal planting. A lot of people donxt know that most of the beautiful plants we grow in our borders are also medicinal. Ive been teaching myself herbalism for the last few years. I love snake oil 😂.

Yeah, most of it is snake oil. Plants that actually have medical properties are just called medicine.

Sometimes I can't believe how many years have passed. First ever video I watched from you was some Cacti/Succulent Halloween Arrangement 7-8 years ago. It was filmed in your town house. And I was thinking that this could be interesting. Since that day I am invested. I remember how you were bummed that your garden was small and how excited you were when you moved into the new house to have that much garden space. I remember all those plants on the floor outside, around brick patio etc. You guys have come a long long way. I remember the sad news of your kitty passing away, to exciting news of your pregnancy. And now I look at Benjamin and Samantha and I cannot believe how big they got😍 Great chanel that taught me everything I know. Now people are coming to me to learn and ask questions😂I was 23 yo when I started, just fresh of colledge trying to find some hobby. Now I am 31, married and loving my gardening life. 🎉

Instead of the venus fly trap, try drosera/sundew. That works great for me to help with the fungus gnats, since those are sticky😊

Was about to suggest this! They're AWESOME at trapping fungus gnats. Pinguiculas are also great. Bonus points for their pretty flowers!

I really enjoyed the slowed down part of the video. There is something to be said about real time instead of sped up vid. Thank you for that.
Thanks for your wonderful channel! I’ve learned a ton from watching you work your gardens. I wish I had the time to work in mine every day. And younger knees would help too!
    Have a great day GA!

Do y’all ever sharpen your hedgetrimmers? If so, would you consider making a video on how to do it like you did the Felcos? That would be super helpful to me and others as well, I’m sure!

I just did some flowerbed clean out after we got into the low 20’s in south Mississippi (which is wildly cold for us). It was so satisfying! That cold got my impatients. Happy they lasted so long into January though!
