I just saw Gene live last Thursday in Berlin for the last ever kiss concert in the Capital of Germany! Loved it. Just surreal.
I sat in the front of coach on a Regional Jet to Dallas and Gene was up in first. When you see him in person you realize there’s only one of him in the world appearance wise. But I was a member of the KISS Army and Still have my cool looking Necklace.
Seeing his emotional tribute to America at the Pentagon moved me. Gene is a great American

While I was never a KISS fan, I am a huge Gene fan. Aside from being one of the top5 best marketers of the 20th century, he speaks truth and doesn't BS anyone. I saw him a few years ago at an official DC speech where he detailed his mother's time in a concentration camp & their journey to the US. He was so emotional that he wept about how great the US is. I just met Gene in a restaurant inside LAX a few weeks ago. The waitress was telling him about her medical condition and he listened attentively to her. He spoke to me several minutes. He said his hobby is finding out if people have a nick name. On his way to France. Cool encounter.

Gene is a badass skier and so is his daughter. Gene and his family have a place at Whistler and I spend about half my time between Seattle and Whistler. I'm a bass player and sometimes play with my local Whistler friends at The Alpine Cafe. It's a super small place and he's been in there a few times and often accepts invitations to play. It's hard to go incognito if you're as tall as he is, so everybody gives him the courtesy of treating him like everybody else.

Gene may seem like an ass when it comes to KISS but he knows the value of hard work. He's always been sober, invested his money well. I've learned to like him more and more over the years....outside of KISS he's pretty cool.
As a Palestinian, I love both Roger Waters and Gene Simmons and wish for this conflict to finish; both sides are sick of it, but if the conflict has to come to an end, I belive lets do it Gene Simmons's way.

I will never forget the first time I went to the KISS concert in Las Vegas Nevada in the early 80s My buddy and I had front row tickets and he managed to throw his shirt on stage and it landed on Gene Simmons. Gene stopped for a second and pointed at himself like " What's this? A t-shirt on my head? And I think he kept playing My buddy and I laughed so hard, never forget it. I wish I could see that video, priceless moment.

20 years too late, the Farewell Tour in 2000 should have been the last one.
They should have reunited with the originals for a few tours, then gone back to their non-makeup band with Kulick and Singer. But that would have been too dignified.

I biologically bonded with KISS in my teens... no band is close to them in my mind (except Rammstein ;)... but it's not just imprinting... name another band where all 4 members trade singing lead... and REALLY well (Ace is so so). 95% of their songs are catchy, raunchy, and celebratory. They're one of the few bands who don't muddle their message with "meaningful" music. It's just sex, humor, and very catchy / tasteful virtuosity... each member playing the hell out of their instrument. Magic!

I saw Kiss a few times in the 70's. Kiss was scheduled to play at my college gymnasium and the ticket was $1.00. The fire Marshall would not allow Pyro in the gym, so Kiss packed up and left. Many years later, I contacted Gene's personal manager, and I sent the full concert ticket with a letter of the story to the curator of the Kiss museum.

Say what you want.. but Gene Simmons is nothing if not gracious in working tirelessly to break down barriers. He's a smart, thoughtful, yeah sometimes arrogant but ALWAYS honest guy. He's right. You cannot find solutions when both sides are unwilling to sit down at the table (meet in the middle), break bread and have an honest conversation. Going to see them in Nashville with my daughter - and I'll be there at MSG in NYC on their last night ever 12/2/23. Spending my last December birthday with my favorite band of all time!

I am a bassist today because of Mr Simmons. The last few years, I have felt my admiration was poorly placed as his personality became more apparent over the years. I was a star struck kid with a dream. This clip at least gave me a glimmer of hope for Gene. His thoughts on the Israeli/Arabic conflict is commendable to say the least, naïve but commendable. I would love to see his offering come to light, but with the tensions in the region, I dont think this is a possibility.
