- On 6th June 2012 a massive swell hit Sydney, Australia.
The giant waves broke all the way into the harbour, making a perfect 2km wave at Bennelong Point, aka the famous Sydney Opera House. Marcie and Frimmy scored an epic sesh with no one else out. Made this little vid of the day.

My name is Claude D'Arcy, I am 92yo. I never thought I'd hear of this again in my life, this isn't the first time that Bennelong point has been surfed. In early March of 1934 not long after I turned 14 and following a tropical cyclone up north some swell arrived down the coast here in Sydney. It coincided with a late summer storm and king tides, and the right conditions that meant waves refracted in towards the point. This brings back fond memories of me and my mates that surfed there that day

Mate its a sick wave! Sucks up out the back over the harbour tunnel, and then its real speedy through Concerts, and then bowls on the inside right around into Botanics! It’s filfth!!!

I surfed a small wave off Wrest Point Casino in Hobart back in ‘93 with a mate from a monsterous southern swell. Water felt like about 5 degrees.
i saw afew of these boys getting some sick little ones yesterday, nicest wave. Yeah for sure it hasn't broken in like 30 years, so stoked
I lived in Sydney from 1981 to 1988.
I lived in Vaucluse and surfed Nielsen's Park on many many occasions.
There was a reasonable right hander breaking off the right point.
Biggest I saw it was 4 foot.
There's this break I know which is compleetely landlocked yet I've surfed it at 8 ft. Even the swell onto the break is 180 degrees from the ground swell direction. Made this seem well believable. Great effort. The stir is funny as fark. Pitty it's not a right hander

My friend told me this is epic I told him it's fake, because there are rocks that aren't suppose to be there in Sydney Harbour so there it's fake!
I was down there during the storm with my wife and kids. There were a few guys out. Must have been the ones that made the video. Cheers fellas.

You know what`s fake- that Teahupoo stuff is fake. That mega swell that everyone was batting off over, that was just mirrors and computer effects and shit. At least this is real. Its just not that big thats all.

Uhhhhm, a few obvious issues with the video...being fake is one of them.
Check it out at 0:26 and someone is climbing out on the rocks that aren't meant to be there.

If you look closely you can see the clipping between the water (foreground) and the opera house/Sydney buildings (background). It's a composite video, not a bad job for an amateur..

Well it sucked in a bunch of my UK surfing buddies. Cheers for the vid. Very funny. Personally, if it were real I would have put my cameraman at the Opera House, not 300m away. quick on the uptake too considering the swell size yesteday WAS real. well done fellas.

Good entertainment, but It's FAKE. Pause at 1.24 see the Green colour on the surfers left shoulder, some poor green-screen work there guys...hehehe..also the edges around the surfers hair area doesnt look natural at all..

The rocks are not there (at OH) and why would you have 'a shorey' too? Look closely and you see the superimposed rocks shifting against OH wall.
Tourists will love it; I can see the Banzai crew in Nippon lathering over the photo op now! lol
You can see the reef bouncing up and down against the Sydney Opera House at 1:00

I was on the ferry that morning. Couldn`t believe that there was still swell down around Fort Denison and when I saw waves around the Opera House I freaked! They canned the Ferries straight after that I heard.
This has already been exposed as a joke.
Thats nothing i surfed it at 25 foot tow in off the ferry.
