Fayaz khan is a stunning rare example and idol for a devotional bhajan singer, having in-depth knowledge of the lyrics, bhava and importantly the main ingredient, the devotion, which is the core of bhajans. That too having this combination coming from different religion is the play of almighty. Equipped with a rich soul stirring voice, when you listen to him observe his body language and deep involvement, it looks as though the soul of the dasa has entered his being and singing for the Lord. God bless all of us...
This happens only in India. No other place in this world can match this unity in diversity. Ustad's voice & his deep union with song and ragas absolutely fascinating.
Phenomenal I am blessed to have been a contemporary of Faiz time. What a mind-blowing singing... Steers towards meditation. No words, wish I get to witness his live singing once in my life.
Excellent rendition with narrative @Krishna janmastami ,enjoyed a lot with talirangadi song. God bless fayaz khan and the organisers. We remember life long ,so grateful to Ramakrishna mission 🙏
I could not stop listening to this great singer even at 3 am.Only with Great passion, phenomenal talent and limitless devotion can someone sing like this.We are blessed to hear this man.
Excellent rendition of some of the most deeply profound philosophical compositions of Haridasaru. In the beginning of the concert sri Khanji said that he will not touch the compositions sung by great singers, himself being one of those great singers - showing his humbleness. Would like to hear more of this great artist.
There are two unique things about this video. The impeccable Kannada used during introduction of artists. This is extremely valuable. Quite often at public functions, use of casual Kannada as well as unprepared speeches have become common. This introduction serves as a model for maintaining dignity of the stage "SABHA MARYADE", something we were taught at school to practice and maintain. The second part is of course the beautiful rendering by Fayaz Khan who too speaks chaste Kannada. The richness of DasaVaNi - its poetic form representing some of the great saints of western India are sung with clarity and bhakthi both of which are essential. Yes, the DasaVaNi in Kannada are sung both in Hindustani and Carnatic music styles by various artists. But as Fayaz Khan himself points out, he does not sing songs already rendered by other artists. He respectfully leaves it to those artists. He has sung many new krithis here. Therefore, this becomes a new vocal source for Krithis of Purandaradasa, Kanakadasa. I am sure Fayaz Khan will do similar justice to the great saints of Maharashtra - Sant Tukaram, Namdev and others. Singers such as these add to our rich heritage. Thanks to Ramakrishna mission for recognizing and encouraging such talents.
The mc is Ramprasad Bhat, lecturer in Kannada at Alva's PU college. He is a versatile man. Good at English, Sanskrit so on. Has a first hand knowledge of Hindustani classical and a good vocalist himself. Your words are an honour to him. Thank you Sir. Fayaz Khan's singing brings heaven on earth.
Unique rendition to express Bhakthi. Pronunciation clarity so good, that meaning of some songs, I understood after hearing Fayazji although I had heard the song before.
Hats off to ustaad khanni he is the true son of Karnataka what an impeccable beautiful Kannada like the smell of kasturi and flow of honey employed by ustad sab in hindustani kirana gharana style even great pundit of kirana gharana ignored Kannada Purandar Sahity but leaned towards Marathi Abhaga and Hindi Sahity Music You ustad fayaz khan is the True Son Of Karnataka And Real Vaishnav Saint All Mutts Of Vaishnava Should Treat As Reavaishnav And Honour You Man

Amazing talent, mesmerizing voice and selection of uncommon compositions makes this rendition a treat to listen. It must be some kind of Divine intervention that I should hit upon this episode on this auspicious day of Sri Krishna Janmasthami. May Lord Sri Krishna bless him to sing more and more in his praise and we get to listen Divine music.
