965mm and sub250g with likely big control surfaces explains the insane climb rate in 15mph winds & snappy rolls! Fun times and another great video! I wish we had a slope nearby like yours! Only hi-start in my neck of the woods.
That's the most agile glider I have ever seen you fly! Your exhibition was mind-opening! That's a natural tactical dog-fighter!!
It's always great seeing one of your maiden flights.
Another great video, as always…kit arrived a few weeks ago!
Wow, I had to check my settings at one point just to make sure playback was not set too high . Fantastic little mover . 👍
A trimming journey! Looks like you got the C.G and differential dialled with subsequent flights! Planks are always hard work to get just so. Nice one :-)
Takes me back to the Combat Gremlin which we had a run of ..... that one came from a story in RCM I believe, in the days before the internet ..... foam wing cores, .25 engine and plastic drain pipe fuselage ..... cheap and quick to build ..... flew as if on rails ! Edit: I just looked into it and it came out in Dec '92 issue of the magazine, and during our holiday between Christmas and New Year, we had our first contest ..... I never thought it was almost 30 yrs ago .....
Pure magic. ♥️ @ 1:13.
Little do the surfers (below) @ 0:10 realize the real surfing is higher up. What great editing, BTW.
Wow! Rock-solid and dialled in from the first throw. Made the Videographer-in-Chief work for her supper! :o)
It wasn’t an easy one to film!
Superb as usual!
No sweptback,although very stable.Super!
Stunning flying John....!!!! Simply Breathtaking and Beautiful to Watch...!!!!! Def a Truly Next Level Model and So Efficient...!!!! And Def My Favourite video So far....!!!!! Simply Absolutely Amazing and As Said Before Simply Mind Opening & Incredibly Graceful Flying & So Beautiful and So so Well Done....!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Love the music
You could gave slowed the video down to half speed John ... I couldn't keep up 😁👍
Enjoying your videos I don’t know how u fly that close to the edge I get dizzy watching your vids.
Thank you. The camera is quite deceptive, from where I’m stood it’s a relatively shallow slope down to the costal footpath about 50 meters below. Only then does it get steep. Don’t worry, there is no way I can fall off.
Great music, camera angles and editing!!!! It seemed to be flying with the music! A few other names for the little beauty could be, Slash, Greased Lighting, Slick Willy, Flash in other words anything fast! Do you plan to fly her in heavier winds? If so, will you ballast or rely on her inherit speed? Thanks for sharing John!!!!!
Thank you. I think that was probably about the upper limit of wind it will fly in. There isn’t really any room to add ballast internally and my fingers aren’t quick enough to fly it any faster!
Agree on the editing, flying to the music takes work. Beautiful
Mine will fly right down to 3 knots (3.45mph) on a large slope, right up to 12 knots (14mph) unballasted. My flying wt is 199g
Some very impressive aerobatics John, how on earth do you keep up with the orientation?
It’s a lot easier keeping track of it when you are flying it as opposed to watching a video.
Ah yes, one for the beginners :-)
planks are less forgiving if not built and balanced carefully?
soooo much lift, nice place
Nice flight! John what equipment used for these shoots? Congratulations.
My wife uses a Sony Handycam. I can’t remember exactly which model.
John thanks for replying. If later it is possible to confirm the model, I will be even more grateful. Hug.
This is very close to what I'm building. I tried to use the CG calculator you sent me but I don't think I got it right! Lol! What is the CG on this model is it close to 25mm from the leading edge? This looks very fun you were ripping it nicely! Thanks!
The GC is on the front spar. It looks really far forward but the wing does have some forward sweep .
Do you have plans for this? I love its flight pattern and would work well here in San Francisco as we get on shore winds off of the Pacific ocean
I love your flying videos. Where do you fly? Unfortunately,, my site is 40 minutes away from my house with no way to verify conditions so I’ve tried a few times but haven’t been able to fly my Shaka yet.
Thank you. I’m in Perranporth Cornwall
👏👏👏
👍💪
Wow !!!
What is the airfoil on the speed demon ?
That looks really fun.
It’s a blast to fly. I’m not sure which airfoil it has. I looked on the manufacturer website but it doesn’t seem to say.
Will it thermal?
Is that a one piece design? I'm looking for something I can easily carry on my mountain bike?
I built it as one bit but it can be made to break down into two separate wings, and a fuselage with removable tail.
Hay John,
What is the name of the website where you download free vintage plans ?
Outerzone is the best one.
@@SlopeRCGliders thanks
Laminar flow
seems skittish !
