Yeah this kind of culture may fly at Tesla and SpaceX, where the employees are working on innovative technologies and are hired knowing the climate, but can’t imagine the same is true at Twitter.

The white guy's question about Twitter as a viable source is really annoying. You're a journalist, you can use any point as a source if you do enough proper research.
The problem is main stream media shy away from anything that isn't also a mainstream source. It's why they're always so slow to report on happenings in Ukraine. It's why a lot of their claims are kind of ridiculous if you actually follow military happenings.
Nothing posted on Twitter (or Facebook) is considered a first hand/primary source. That's probably what he meant.

Honest question - how would he make a small fortune? As a tax write-off? Or an investment loss? Or bankruptcy (although he wouldn’t be going bankrupt, just the company, and as we’ve seen from a previous President you can make several businesses go bankrupt and personally be fine).
It's well known banks tend to have a low appetite for risky ventures. If Elon keeps this up no one will lend him money anymore, similar to Trump, banks don't want to do business with him.

The 75% of Twitter employees who opted to accept Elon Musks' gracious offer to take severance pay over egotistical abuse, might actually get that pay, and more, just at a later date. Remember, these are intellectuals, and, educated workers. I'm more than positive that they have probably disseminated enough information to prepare for a class action lawsuit once Elon defaults on his agreement. The idiot put that in an agreement that 75% of them opted into on a document as their exit arrangement. They will definitely get something. Musk'a misfortune, in this instance, is his actual fortune. If they don't get the compensation from Twitter, at least the lawsuit will dent his fortune. Ask Alex Jones and Amber Heard. Even Trump University had to shell out some compensation. I'm very glad to see this new Proletariat movement happening today. These megalomaniac Billionaires are getting way too out of control with their belief in entitled exploitation.
Unless you know something I don't, I don't see Elon personally exposed to pay severance. Meaning I don't see his personal assets at risk, only whatever value remains within Twitter. I would be shocked if Elon's personal assets, Tesla, or SpazX were on the hook.
@@BigKandRtv it's happened before. CEOs can be personally sued when they take reckless actions that destabilize or cause loss to the company. I haven't heard of it being from employees though, it's usually from their board.

Though it's also probably not a worry. In California, employees are required to receive their final pay the same day they leave. I've always walked out the door with my final pay check Or my final pay stub showing that funds went into my direct deposit that day. I believe there's similar employment clauses re: severance pay. They're going to get paid immediately.

The layoffs from Meta etc are LOWER than the hiring at the end of the pandemic - there's been a massive net benefit.
All of these skilled staff Musk has just lost won't have any trouble finding work in Silicon Valley, there are HUNDREDS of companies you've never heard of making massive amounts of money supplying specialist services and contract workers, which Musk himself is now going to have to start paying for when he realizes what he's let go.
Many of these people Musk has just dumped will be back at Twitter in a week or a month, working for the companies he now has to pay three times more to get the same skilled service he's petulantly kicked out.
