- hello & Welcome, it might be hard to get cosy with all the sand but if you can get over the fact that it's coarse and rough and gets everywhere then you might just enjoy your time with me in the deserts of egypt.
Original stories by H.P Lovecraft, read by me. :D

I think Lovecraft living in the time that he did it was inevitable that he would be enamored with ancient Egypt - after all, King Tut's tomb was discovered in the1920's when Lovecraft's writing career was really starting to get going, so he would have known all about it. In a similar way he was very interested in Antartica because of the Race to the South Pole and polar exploration in general in the early 1900's. It captured his imagination and inspired "At the Mountains of Madness".
I get the feeling this channel is going to spike in growth relatively soon.

Ahhh yes! The Spooky Lady is back! I've always loved Lovecraft's exploration of Egyptian and Middle Eastern mythology, faux-Lovecraft fans always seem to hold the view that his output was purely "fish-people"-centric lmao. My favourite mispronunciation I've heard from other Lovecraft readers is of the word "hithherto" (funnily enough), the amount of times I've heard them pronounce it "hit-hurt-o" is unreal and it always cracks me up.

Ive hunted over 75 stories down, maybe 80. Took years. And all the pastiches and stories with and from the inner circle. I might have it all. Books from the 70s was the secret, hippies loved him, they would find obscure stories from him you never heard of and put them in weird fiction anthologies for tripping out on.
i’ve already given this video so many views, i have yet to get thru the first story without falling asleep!!

As a teen I was totally obsessed with Egypt, and although I'm not familiar with Lovecraft, this was fun to listen to (and I actually fell asleep)...

Could I get some hp Lovecraft recommendations for someone who has never personally read anything from his work? I haven’t a clue what his writing is like
Well I think alot of people's go to is usually Call of Cthulu. All of his writing can be a bit heavy, with alot of old fashioned jargon (some offensive too)
But I could recommend " the colour out of space", if you like hauntings and such :)
