thank you so much for these guides. I just discovered the Michael's Makerplace today and I have been so frustrated with trying to "build" something user friendly (me) that doesn't suck all my work time out of me. It was so nice to be walked thru the set up and though I don't know if this is the right place for my work I will probably go ahead and get set up just so I have a commerce site. This is all thanks to you and your very generous help.🙏
Thank you for the demonstration. I loved Etsy when it first started but not so much when it was sold and went public, and especially not after the last CEO took over. I know most of us would like to see an alternate place to sell, You also need to be really careful now when buying on Etsy now as in spite of having a US business address, and the a seller assuring you their items is handmade and comes from their state, you may still get a mass produced item labeled "Made in China". Your listings look very appealing and professional. Not sure why Michaels is doing this but they have a lot of competition from Amazon and now Temu so maybe there are looking for another way to generate income.
I agree with ALLLL of that. I sell digitals on Etsy, but have never wanted to mess with shipping. I read horror stories on FB groups about stores being closed down, glitches, and scammers. I am hoping this platform is better with that. However, I joined a few Makerplace FB groups, and it seems Michaels plans on holding funds for about 4 weeks!!!! Hopefully its because they are in Beta right now, and it will be fixed on the full launch.
I am making listings but I cannot find where I add the SKU. I have several items and I need to know the SKU and size when someone buys, like on Etsy...am I just not seeing it?
Thank you for the information. I am trying to set store at Maker place , I had never sold anything on a online store. Shipping is one of my big concern they give you 3 choices and I can not decide which one will be the best for me. Can you help, please. Or do you have a place I can go and ask some one. Thank you and have a blessed night.
There is Calculated shipping, Fixed price shipping and Free shipping. For the first 2 options you need to basically package your item, measure it and weight it. Then input all of that. The shipping rate for the customer will automatically generate for calculate. You set the Fixed price. And of course, for the Free option you would bundle the shipping cost into the price. I have joined Makerplace groups on FB and I have learned a lot.
Has anyone found out a way to connect to a third party shipping platform? I have an etsy store and a website and I use shipstation to ship but Maker's place is asking for API key. Has anyone used this before and where can I find mine?
I'm not familiar with Shipstation's platform - but a quick google search shows "Go to Account Settings. · Select Account from the left-hand sidebar, then choose API Settings. Settings Sidebar: Account dropdown." This was from Shipstation.
Thank you so much for making these videos! It really encouraged me to give it a go!
YEAH!!! I'm glad to hear that. I would really like this platform to do well. :)
Thank you. Nice of you to take thee time to explain this. I hope we all do well at MakersPlace.
You are very welcome. How are you doing on the platform so far?

They are always updating the platform, but last I saw it was on the individual product page.

I'm just starting my shop and can't find what size the listing photos need to be.
1200x1200 pixels
I just added a few items and realized my tags may have not saved. I cant seem to find out how to go back and check this or to edit. Please help!
Go back into your seller dashboard and go to edit listings. The 3 line down will have a space for adding Tags.
