Good stuff Jelie!! You held the Reason fort down for a good minute. Change is always a great thing. Anything not growing is DEAD!! If it doesn't excite you anymore don't force yourself to do it for anyone!!! Reason is a great daw but it's only been a handful of us content creators that made it make sense for quite a few people. It's definitely not the most popular Daw to quickly grow an audience with on youtube. I'm still missing a CHECK from the good folks at propellerheads.🤫 Free software doesn't work for my business model and brand any longer. I'm in a lane that understands the assignment lol. And if it doesn't help you grow. Just say NO. Shoutout to you and Sef Nitty for holding the fort down!! You can definitely build on top of what you've already established. Keep cooking!!! 🎹 💪🏾✌🏿 💯
Thanks for the words of encouragement! I always wondered why Reason headquarters overlooked all of you. The crazy part is that, they have no interest in making it right, otherwise we would have all been in a meeting. There business model isn't about loyalty, its crazy what expectations we as creators are expected to uphold by the people, and we don't even charge the audience. We’re the “middle men” who get accused of banking on the success of the software, when in reality we just have big hearts and excitement for the craft. Sef Nitty is another gold mind of Reason knowledge that many of the people teaching on the Reason channel, writing their blogs, and working in their offices don't even have. They missed out, not us. I will say that I have had more opportunities to work with them as a brand than many other Reason creators and I am grateful, however the general scope of things don't add up as authentic. There’s a small community of people that are on a recent version of Reason. There’s a guy religioisly watching my videos and he never moved past Reason 4! Thanks, again!
I’ve been saying this for years. The best content Creators for Reason, their channels would be 5 to 10 times bigger if they were talking about FL or other daws. Reason could fix this easy by starting to listen to the community. They have a very creative team but they have spent years creating a culture of not listening to users. I love Reason… absolutely love it but I predict others will head this way if Reason doesn’t embrace some change.
@graykeyzmusic You are I had a conversation about this some time ago on your live... Reason keeps sucking me back in when I know its not advancing anything... Hell, Mixbus Pro has advanced farther than Reason has. Which is crazy to me. It's a lesser known DAW in the public. But they listened to their customers.
Juli Theres No hate Theres only evil people You got enough fat Beats Shown in your Videos The best was to Produce music ist to use daws and their benefits together Haters also create Hypes Some people dont understand that they are followers repeating nonsense of Others People WHO need to hate Somebody for showing His own way to create are Not able to create themselves Info und many of the best functions of reason in your Videos Good people search for this Reason is a great and one of the best Programs They only Lack on the library Sounds and Instruments and some things that is Sound based , thsts what i meantioned so far But whatever youre moving Forward to , These haters will stay tuned to hate Thsts their Task 😂😂😂 The more they hate the more you know that your in a High Level of music production And IT doesnt Matter If your become the biggest Star because i listen to music of friends and Here is Platinum music but never Sold and Nobody was able to listen IT but me And thats sad for Others but industry is a tactical system with people trying to get Money from what you build up Fans and a Lot of good people want to Support you and the Special Things you create If you realise this IT only Matters what your music becomes and everythjng Else around IT Happens by itself the more you Level up , and the more you yourself is becoming own music industry I wished i could Produce and understand things Like you already do I feel No jelousy Its good to See someone having the Same passion In a room full of Platinum Hits , i dont feel small beside the Hit producer , because IT says nothing about the Person itself , IT IS only showing a specific result of his Intension or passion If its Intension He dont even need to Love music To me only people have a true passion and Love for music Matters Thsts why i dont listen so much music , because the Most of them Feed their Egos Not their Souls
I saw Professional Producers talking about daws too He named three daws Pro tools Pro Logic Ableton I Font know about FL Studio but ableton in combination with the Push plus akai apc IS a Monster combination You can Work almost without a Mouse and the Most Things is displayed on the Screen Just third party Plugins IS Not completely able to map to the controllers But as you are Professional about music production and surely with daws you already know
@@KickbackCouture Many beat makers would be better suited as DJs, but even that field has become oversaturated as technology has diluted the essence of music. The core issue is that many of you aren't true musicians. I find it strange you want to be the leading tech musician without creating the tech behind it Y’all don’t wanna be musicians, but you wanna make music that’s strange ! There’s a clear distinction between a producer who can craft beats for artists like Future and someone who can compose for a real vocalist like Anita Baker-someone with genuine talent. Frankly, I’d love to see technology take a step back, forcing people to rely on actual musical ability again. The prevalence of DAWs and beat machines has contributed to the decline of Black music, allowing individuals with little to no talent to become the driving force behind it. That’s why black music is garbage now y’all rely too much on this tech. And y’all follow whatever trend is popular instead of setting your own. Real musicians use Reason. Those accustomed to Fruity Loops would struggle with Reason because it doesn’t do the work for you. It’s not your fault-you did a good job- I like your content ! I never really used some of your strategies to make music because with reason there’s more than one way to skin a cat !but your generation isn’t focused on making music for the sake of artistry. Instead, it’s often about social status or monetary gain.
This is a honest video, I’ll tell you a secret. I have a reason tattoo, the old logo. I used reason from 1.0 , at around Reason 10 i left the daw and never retuned. I still upgrade every version but not to use it, but only because it was an important part of my path in production. I’ll forever love Reason Studios/Propellerhead but a lot of us are moving on or already have.
So true! I am also Reason user from ver.1 to ver 11 Suite. It has been a big part of my life. But i have moved to other daws. I hade Reason subscription, but that just extinguished the desire to continue using it. And the content for other DAWs is just much better and wider. I felt like an relic of special reason membership.
Many people support Reason for nostalgia even though they've moved on. It's still cool to see the impact Reason has on musicians, regardless of how it is now.
Former Reason user here. (I switched after they tried charging for a resolution upgrade) I switched over to Bitwig a little over a year ago and it completely changed my workflow. While Reason's Rack is undeniably powerful, Bitwig takes modularity to the next level with its feature called "The Grid." It's a sound design environment that lets you build custom instruments and effects from scratch. Additionally, Bitwig's advanced modulation system allows you to modulate virtually any parameter effortlessly, opening up creative possibilities that felt cumbersome in Reason. The workflow in Bitwig is also more streamlined and intuitive, enabling me to work faster. They push out consistent updates with worth while features. The recent 5.2 update added a lot of features for just a "point" update. I'd seriously consider Bitwig. I think you can get a free trial.
I've been listening to my freinds production after he switched to Bitwig he produces DnB and I watch him do things I can only dream of in Reason 13, he has a Bitwig shortcut keyboard he bought from Editorkeys, I'm hoping they update there Reason 1 so it's compatible with 13
Same here. I switched to Bitwig a couple years ago and never looked back. I use the reason rack to still have my favorite reason plugins. It's crazy when you combine that with Bitwigs modulation. I know you know ;)
I was a Reason user for 10+ years. I finally gave Ableton a try a couple months ago. After a week of using Ableton I was ready to make the full switch. Starting fresh in a new DAW has been so inspiring for me, and I wish the same for you. Your Reason tutorials have helped me in the past, and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future
To say I empathize with this video is a complete understatement. You are the first person I have ever found that echoed my thoughts on Reason. It has been and still is a love-hate relationship. I began the relationship at the reason 4. Reason could have ruled the world. Reason rack was the answer to my prayers. I have so much to say on this subject. I just don’t know where to begin.
I had first started with FL back in the day then went Reason for a few years. I made the switch to Ableton a few years back and will never look back! Reason is awesome.. dont forget you can still use Reason as a VST!
I rotate DAWs constantly. I understand where you’re coming from because I have noticed the lack of content for Reason. Even some of the producers that I like who use it, don’t really advertise it. My suggestion is look into the MPC world. If not the sampler world will still allow you to use Reason. If not Ableton and FL are great. What’s crazy is I get the most music done in Reason. So I will use it, but not make it the focal point.
I Love Reason because that’s where I started cutting my teeth in production because I couldn’t afford an MPC however, thank you for so much, impactful insightful, powerful content you created for reason consider this a part of your legacy and leaving a positive track record that will follow you throughout the rest of your career and life. Can’t wait to see what this new journey takes you and I will definitely be alone for the ride. Thank you my Reason Studio Daughter.😊
Congrats J you have been a great asset to the reason community. You have been taken for granted by the Daw, and you moving on is the right play for you. Please drop into the AI world. Your mind in that realm will be just right.. Best wishes on your journey..
I may not comment on every video but I do circle back to check your content or binge watch to catch up and I'm glad I saw this video now. You were one of the main people that helped me become acclimated with Reason 12 after years of not upgrading from Reason 5 because I had already dabbled in other programs like Cubase and Cakewalk because of Reason's reluctance with VST support for so long. Reason is close to being my all-in-one suite but I'm keeping my options open. The knowledge you share goes beyond Reason anyway and into actual audio engineering so where ever you take your talents or take your channel, I'm down! 😎
Look out for yourself, ma! The Reason crew appreciates you and will miss you. Im an avid Reason user after rockin with FL Studio and will stick with it. DAWS are like cars, and Dom Torretto said it best: "It doesn't matter what's under the hood. The only thing that matters is who's behind the wheel." But it's all love! You're trying to get more followers and get that bag! You gotta do you, and that's understandable! Best wishes to you, ma!!!
Been getting back into Reason again after a bit of a hiatus. Your videos have always been a favorite of mine. Whatever you end up doing, I wish you the very best and will still keep your content on the radar (especially if I choose to use other DAWs).
This is great for you... I will miss your Reason tutorials although I know you will still be doing some Reasons Videos but I'm looking forward to your next chapter... Good Luck Kickback Couture
For me, as an avid sound designer, there is no other DAW that can compete with reason in routing and connection possibilities and how it opens limitless possibilities for sound design. With the combinator, I can build my own synthesizer using individual modules of oscillators, filters, amps, lfos, envelopes, etc. and add a sampler, and send the combined sounds of both synth and samples through an instrument like thor or complex 1, perform cross modulation or Amp modulation by routing the sound into complex 1's oscillators, then send that sound out through individual effects, then split the sound in two, have one portion of the sound going to a mixer, and then route the other portion of the sound back into complex 1 or thor. Man, the routing possibilities are limitless. Reason is a sound designer's paradise. I can't see myself using any other DAW. As far as what I would like for Reason to improve or add - make individual modules of every section of their current synth instruments or make different synth modules such as oscillators, amps, and more filters, envelopes, and lfos. Currently, there are only a few 3rd party developers that make individual synth modules, but I would love for Reason to make its own.
Let me first say thanks for the loads of video content you provided throughout the years. Thank you 🙏🏾 When first discovering your channel about some years back I actually stopped using Reason and focused on iOS music production full time. Music production in iOS is my most favorite platform to use to create beats, melodies, loops etc while I was riding the RTD to work. 🚌 Reason is definitely cool for me when I want to import my WAV and MIDI files from my iDevices into the DAW for further production, but other then that, Reason for me hasn’t done anything really spectacular. Heck, I would still possibly use Reason if they made an iOS version of the DAW. Keep doing your thing 🎹 🥁 🎶 👊🏾
I'm still going to use Reason as that's what I'm used to. I have Ableton but every time I start making music, I just find it's easier to throw something together with Reason. If you have time, please share how you adapt to a new platform if you can.
It's the right move. I saw the decline coming since R8 and when R11 dropped I switched to FL. Best move ever and not looking back. Exactly, why pushing a platform if they can't push it themselves? That's exactly the problem with reason the last 10 years.
I left reason at around Reason 6 you made me come back(partially) when they made it a plugin. I have been using Logic Pro but I am also thinking about going to Ableton or back to FL Studio. At the end of the day, no DAW has everything but Reason is limiting in ways more than most other DAWS. I still feel it is a great tool but in standalone, I would never produce in it again. Blessings on your future endeavors!
I've been a fan of your Reason videos for years now. I'm sad to hear you're moving on since I'm a Reason user for life but I also use other DAW's too so I get it. You have to go where the people are. Best of luck and I know you'll do great wherever you go
I use to use Reason all the time, now I just use their Reason instruments and effects as a VST in Presonus Studio One. It so much better for me that way
I started making these videos because all I saw were FL Studio tutorials, and I thought I could fill a gap in the content world. I believe many Reason creators have filled it, but not many are looking for us. It shouldn't matter what software we use-it's about music!
I used a lot of your videos to learn what I needed to in order to get the job done I greatly appreciate you your the Reason genius you don't know how much you helped your the best.
I’ve been seeing this trend across a wide spectrum of the production community. Creators get heavily invested in a particular platform and eventually hit a wall or come to a crossroads. Every platform will eventually plateau or stall or frustrate the community in one way or another. That’s just the nature of the beast. It’s like anything else, we must adapt and diversify our portfolio. Reason was never my main squeeze. I use several DAWs, which I think is becoming a more widely adopted paradigm these days. I loved tagging along on your journey and I can’t wait to see what comes next! Godspeed!
Honestly, if you're " not feeling" something anymore, move on. There is no shame with moving on, that is what we humans do, no matter what it is about. But yeah, you have done more for Reason than many, and ive watched many many videos of yours , just to peek into the hip hop style music production. I like learning new things, it keeps me going. There is plenty of other software there in the binary ocean, hah. You know Jelie, you could even start different topics like music production, your favourite albums, songs, music genres, live acts, tell us about favourite mixes and what makes that specific mix good to your ears etc, etc. Whatever feels exciting and current to you, go for it 👍 You could even show your already finished songs, highlight what possible innovations you've got going on in your songs etc. Im just dropping seeds here, that is what i be doing. It's your life, your channel, your time...just go wherever your muse takes you. I'll be lurkin' around, lol. Stay inspired! 👍 Rules? F*** em.💪
We hear you…….and we support your decision! Wishing you all the best and all the success on your new journey!!! It’s true there’s just something about reason that’s not resonating with the masses!!!!!! 🤷🏾♂️ no matter how hard we try!!!!
I recently discovered your videos and have been learning a lot, even though I don't use Reason. Will keep watching, no matter what platform you are moving on to.
I feel your pain. I started using reason on version 3. I stepped away a few times out of frustration and just wanted/expecting more from the updates. I’ve come back to reason recently because the Ui is just more inspiring to me. Honestly, version 13 is one of my favorite updates because of the new tag based browser & the clip editor. But to be real, those additions were years behind other daws. Reason still needs a huge collection of features that make it an up to date daw. But, imma try to ride it out for a while…or until maschine adds a traditional linear sequencer 😏 At the end of the day, your last sentence in this video hit the nail on the head. One more thing: they should study presonus studio one. They’ve created a pretty sound system and culture of listening to the community and quickly adding requests.
Jelie, I Undertand you 200% Cause I was the number one hater of other DAW's and praising Reason, but once I had A little bit of notions on Ableton and FL studio, gurl, it was night in day on how much pro's and con's are again using Reason compared to the DAW's already mentionned, I started feeling that everything is easier and can be quickly done with no issue's ! it's not the gear, but what you get as a result with and I can tell you, you will creatively feel the change !!!
Hey Sis, good luck to you in whatever you plan next - You've done some good work for Prop heads over the years. I could hear this coming before 13 came out so I'm not surprised at your announcement . I drew MY line in the sand at Reason 12 though I've been on board since Reason 2.5 so I know what you are saying. Yes I will always use the Reason plug-in but I'm paying more attention these days to Ableton Live (and Bitwig hint, hint). Long live Kickback! Onwards and ting
I moved on from Reason three years ago, for similar reasons. But I've kept watch you and learning from your ideas. All the very best with your new adventure. I will certainly be looking forward to what you do next.
You are so right! I started in reason 9.5 and spent thousands on reason rack extensions and got disappointed with every update. Last year I made a discission to try a new DAW and moved over to Studio 1 and now that's my go to DAW along with FL Studio. Reason has failed to do a update that I would purchase. I did update to reason 12 just to use Mimic Sampler and Combinator 2.0 but reason 13 sucks! I now only use reason for a plugin but I will never go back to reason as a DAW. Please continue with you journey sister because you a great teacher and mentor. I followed you from day 1 and where ever you go I will follow! ps I love your rap videos they are ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
You are a great influencer and teacher. I feel you! I went from ASR-10 to Reason and it was a game changer for me. A year and a half ago I moved over to Serato and never looked back. It's all about finding what brings the creative out of you and keeps it fun. Appreciate you sharing this!
Thanks for being here, Jelie! Been a fan for a long time. There are FAR too many limitations in Reason these days. A lot of us moved and got attacked for it. lol! People can't see what's not in front of them, ya know? Reason as a plugin is still pretty dope. Better even! Come to Ableton!
Yeah, the attack is crazy. Music is music, and we can choose how we create it. I love Ableton! I've used it for about 5 years. I don't think it needs more content specifically, so I’ll keep a broad outlook overall.
yo. I completely understand. You and I had a conversation about this a couple of years ago. I want to move on myself, but my ecosystem is so built around Reason. I didnt invest into vst's like most people did. I tried to stay in and support the Reason ecosystem. But honestly, I dont even use the channel strip they provide anymore. I'm all in on the SSL ecosystem for that.
you're one of my favorites to do music production tutorials. no shame around this at all, especially since it's a very smart business move. I started with reason in 2001 and switched to live the next year. I only say "switched" because live became my main daw. I think brand loyalty to a specific piece of tech is childish and we should be using whatever is the right tool for the job on a case by case basis. this has also happened in the animation / VFX industry. people use a ton of different software that all kinda does the same stuff but parts of them do things better than others
Makes sense Jelie. Appreciate your hard work and valuable info over the years. I too hope that Reason can step their game up asap or else me along with many other LOYAL users will move on. There is nothing keeping me tied to Reason anymore. Peace and love, best wishes!
You seem loyal, but there comes a time when you have to think about yourself too. I'm especially happy you're not quitting altogether. I use Ableton and I still watch you. An honest video, well explained and respected. Good luck in your future journey, we are here!. Oh, and don't mind the haters, they like everywhere. I saw hateful comments on a video of a baby. I kid you not! Well once again, respect! The Netherlands.
I remember meeting you in 2019 at Bright Future when BVGGZ was mixing for me. Been a sub ever since. I actually attribute you to making me really consider switching off of FL Studio at the time (I had been using for 10 years). I started researching what DAWs might work best for me and my workflow. As someone who does a lot of hardware synth and guitar stuff, I found that Studio One was right for me and I been on it for 5 years now! Thank you dude it really helped me evolve as a musician
Damn... honestly this hurts. But i totally understand. You gotta do what you gotta do, we who support you are always gonna be ride or die for the love of growth. do ya thang!
I digg sis..you have given the community of Reason user such as myself plenty of content to always go back to for reference. I do appreciate your involvement and support. I remember you doing a Zoom call with me to help me fix an issue with Reason, and I'm forever grateful because you could not have done it. So, thank you for taking us on this journey with you. I look forward to more content, Jellie!!! Salute!
I hear you, you are not alone! I've been watching your videos since before you showed your face. I remember wondering "is this a kid or a woman?" Heh. Whatever you choose to do, I'm sure you'll keep it rad and make it interesting. I'm here for it. 🤘
Thank you so much for your support over the years. I've grown because of people like you! I was definitely a kid at first so you weren't wrong about either. 😂
I’m in the same boat as you. Reason is definitely not progressing with the times. I been going back and forth with it. I also have FL Studio and been wanting to jump into that. Saying that I really hope you choose FL. I love your teaching style and I know I would learn so much in FL from you. Good luck on your next chapter and keep doing your thing.
Long time viewer of your channel, I support your growth music is changing along with how it’s being done DO YOU! Continued success can’t wait to see the next KICK BACK CHAPTER AND CHALLENGES!
I appreciate this video. I think Ableton is the broadest audience. I feel like I’m on the other end using Renoise and I added Reason to try some new things. I love the unorthodox workflow of the outsider DAWs but I’m excited to see what new stuff you come across in your adventures!
I love your Reason tutorials. Be true to yourself and do what you need to do to grow as an artist. I hope you will occasionally come back and do Reason videos even after you expand to other programs.
Girl, I’ve been following you since your beginning and please, do not feel guilty moving on to another daw, this is evolution. Your content is great! I’m now 45 and my beat making glory was from 1997 to 2005, starting with a Roland S-10 with 8 seconds of sampling time, to an mpc 2000 then to Reason 1.0 in the early 2000’s. As an artist you need to evolve and grow and nowadays tools available are insane. I’m still making beats but on a very limited time allocated to it because…life …lol. But even if I’m not making beats daily, I keep up with technology and buying VSTs, libraries, software to keep up, and to be honest with you, I’m on Reason 12 and won’t upgrade to the newest version since Reason 7…Live and FL are offering so much more that I will keep Reason as a rack plugin. 2 things I love about Reason is the mixer, I can achieve crazy mixes compared to any other daw, and the sound design aspect of it, drum machines, samplers, synths…Reason is basically an instrument and that’s why it replaced my Akai mpc 2000 back then. That was the only software that could get my drums to knock, the availability to be able to produce everything in the computer back in the early 2000’s was insane instead of having to transfer in multi tracks from hardware to cpu. Times have changed, jeez, if I could had have stems separation back then I would be famous! FL with the sequencer, stem separation, workflow, sound and fucking free updates for life !!! Ableton always evolving and becoming the daw the industry relies on, quite pricey tho but they make it so easy for producers to thrive in a matter of months. Reason will always be Reason and I look at it as a drum machine with instruments, players and fx, not really as a daw even if I use it that way since 2001, when you couldn’t record or have any VSTs. I think it’s all about workflow, creativity, what works the best for you, what you’re looking for so that you can move on to your next chapter, get the tools you need and that works for you, don’t give a fuck what people might say about putting Reason on the shelf or as a second daw, go get it girl, you rock!!!!
I can't really say much more to the vibe from everyone else that's commented on here. The bottom line is you've contributed so much good, both in terms of knowledge and content, that has provided endless amounts of help to other reason and music makers alike. You obviously set the bar for yourself to a very high standard, but you really must never ever feel that you have to explain yourself to people you literally don't know. Subscribed or not. Its your life. I'm just glad to see that you are so self aware that you know you've hit a limit and need to move onto something else. That's just natural human growth through experience and curiosity. I think what you've proven is how proficient you are technically and how much you care about what you do. I'm pretty sure we're all quite excited to see what you'll be doing next. So the best of luck with it all, and keep paying it forwards! The world needs more great people like you.
Not a Reason user , but, grow as much as you can,. Diversity is always welcomed, I always watched your content,. So thanks for all your hard earned work!KC!
Thanks for the honest heart felt video. I hope you choose to move forward with your next chapter using Ableton Live. Reason is and will probably always be my first love with using DAWs since 2006, but Ableton Live has always been right there next in line. I feel Ableton Live is the most creative space of the DAW's I've used, which includes ProTools, (I have had to know how to use ProTools at a professional level to work as a Recording Engineer in recording studios around the North Hollywood area of L.A. County.) Reason and Ableton Live work well together. It's my favorite combination for producing. It allows me to use the best of both DAWs together. Regardless of the direction you decide to take, I look forward to seeing your future videos. I like the style of your teaching and the effort you put in to what you do for yourself, and all of us Subs.
I just saw this video. never knew you did reason content. I been doing Music Production for 30 years and I own 14 DAWs. I use them all to become proficient at all of them, Every DAW has pros and cons. Its nothing wrong with exploring other DAWs. You can benefit from all of them. The more DAWs you learn the more versatile you will become.
Can i say a huge thank you for all your effort and work you have put in.m. I use Nuendo but really enjoy watching your video as i love you teaching style and passion,,, you will be successful in all that you do.. can i suggest an idea,,, maybe try all other DAWs using free trails ,,, i can also access some if you would like to borrow them and have some NFR contacts too,,, this will cross reference you in the algorithm,,, maybe a short mini series,,, I for one really would value your opinion of certain other DAWs ,, peace and love
Shiiiiiit I'm alll into this shit. I looove your tutorials. They are very Informative. Keep it up. It really matters to those who cares. I care. I love reason. Been with it since reason 2.0 or sooner and you are very valuable to this game and biz. I now have reason13 and never changing. I'm always gonna be a follower of yours so keep upthegoodworkat whatever you decide to do. Peace.
I just wanna thank you little sis. I started with reason 2.5 and I’m all the way up to 12 and you have inspired me and I have learned a great deal from you in the few months I’ve been following you. I had put REASON on the back burner for many months because I felt stagnated until I saw some of your fresh approaches on how to use this DAW. Keep doing what you do, but mainly concentrate on building and creating your art. Peace and blessings. JMD ✌🏽🙏🏽
Never stop learning! You can still use Reason as a VST inside whatever you choose to use! I use Bitwig, Reason (VST), Ableton, Logic for iPad, FL and Studio One. ALL on a regular basis. Learn to juggle, you will be so much more comprehensive. Big love and good luck with all that you do x
I think it's a great decision. I moved from Reason when that new CEO came and started the whole subscription concept while at the same time they ignored developing the DAW capabilities and instead gave us the Reason Rack Plugin for other DAWs. That's when I noticed Reason couldn't or didn't want to keep up with other DAWs but instead give us a plugin so we could use other DAWs features and turn reason into a collection of new synths and racks. I decided to go back to Ableton Live and since then I haven't missed Reason a single day and even more, I didn't really used the Reason Rack Plugin anymore since I could use my own VSTs and Ableton Live own tools and these can do all the work I need
I love Ableton Live! The Reason rack plugin was honestly the perfect exit opportunity for many people. It's a great plugin, and I think it's cheaper than Kontakt. 🤔
Dam! It's been a ride girl Jelie. Change is inevitable as long as we are alive. You have to do what's right for you and to be fair, I just started Ableton last month as a second DAW to be able to collaborate more. Your videos have helped me greatly and will continue to support. I hope you choose Ableton 🤩and good luck as you seek to expand your horizon.
Good for you i think your channel will really grow by showing off some newer software from developers that really care about their products and the community that uses them. i tell you with serato sample and remidi i dont need much else so ill proly never leave reason completely but i dont see upgrading either. Thank you for all your tutorials look to seein what direction you go.
I started off with Reason 3.0, so I completely understand your frustration with it. I’ve had (and still have) a love-hate relationship with Reason because, like you said, the tools aren’t always there for hip-hop producers they’re either hidden or require you to know how to route devices like you’re working in a professional studio. To get the sound I wanted, I invested in an MPC and analog gear. Now, I use Reason as a module, and the MPC really brings the sounds to life. Once I’m done, I track everything back into Reason for editing, mixing, and automation. I’ve been following you since the beginning of your journey, and I just want to say you’ve helped me in so many ways. Thank you, and best of luck in your next chapter!
Beautiful move. You have been a large influence to the community. Thank you for the ever growing videos you put up and developing of the Propellerhead family. Great job. Explore more and stay dope.
I've been over Reason since it turned subscription model. I have couple partially finished songs that I'll have to renew a subscription to bounce - which is annoying in itself and why I'm over it. Your videos def inspired my second attempt at Reason! Can't wait to see what happens with your career.
Thank you for your quality content, and the hard work you put in your videos. All the best for your future! I've been using Reason since version 3 , bought the licence and made 4x upgrades until version 12. This software is the one who made me fall in love with production and sound tweaking. Now, i must recognize i've opened so many doors by using Reason as a Vst inside Ableton. This combo seems to have no limit, i can still recall and use my old Reason presets and combinators (except for those with 3rd-part Rack extensions), and i'm also able to jam and collaborate more easily with all the Ableton users (which is more developed in the electronic music scene than the FL one, might be different with Hip-Hop and Rap). This change will bring new horizons !
Jelie, you're awesome. Regardless of which avenues to decide to explore, there's no doubt that you'll make waves (no pun intended). Good luck - we'll all be waiting and watching! Thanks for your content thus far.
Haha! Thanks! I've been using Live for about 5-6 years now. I have controllers for it and everything. In general, there's not much of an audience for DAW-specific content. Not unless I make those cringy type beat tutorials all the time. I'll find a lane. 🙏🏾 thanks for the support!
Congrats to you Sis ! Growth is very important and to recognize that means that you have already started your journey. I agree with you, I think you can continue to do Reason vid as well as maybe Ableton, FL Studio, MPC, etc. Whatever you desire and as many platforms that you desire. The community will only benefit if you are happy and enjoying what you do. Although I don’t create content I use multiple platforms to create music. I primarily use MPC and Ableton but I found use cases for many and for most I just love the change of scenery. If you never limit yourself and stay focused success will find you. 🙏🏾👊🏾👑
I've already dabbled in all of these on this channel, and that's where I've seen the most interest over the years. I'll definitely continue to be versatile in my approach so that I can dig myself out of this Reason hole. I love FL Studio, Live, and MPC. I'll figure out a new content style.
I love Reason for the intuitive workflow and I’ve had a hard time adapting to other DAWs because of that. But the inability to use midi out from Scaler has put a stop to my growth. I’ve gotten Bitwig because I like what I hear but I’ve done zero work in it because of the steep learning curve. There’s nobody in the Bitwig community making smooth, easy to understand videos like yours were about Reason. Rock, meet hard place.
The fail of Reason 13 is leaving a very sour taste in the users mouth which has drawn the last straw for many as it is far more apparent they don't care about their customers and what they want.
Kickback - SO PROUD OF YOU!!! I have SO MUCH respect for you!! -- Use ANY audio platform that inspires you (and that advice goes to all here as well). But my message for Kickback --> I can't wait to see what is next for you! It's been so fun to watch your journey. You are VERY VERY talented!
Well said. I think it's possible to enjoy a software while still wishing some of the decisions etc behind it would change.
Apple must a conundrum to them - also doesn't listen to users but somehow makes all this money!

Theres No hate
Theres only evil people
You got enough fat Beats Shown in your Videos
The best was to Produce music ist to use daws and their benefits together
Haters also create Hypes
Some people dont understand that they are followers repeating nonsense of Others
People WHO need to hate Somebody for showing His own way to create are Not able to create themselves
Info und many of the best functions of reason in your Videos
Good people search for this
Reason is a great and one of the best Programs
They only Lack on the library Sounds and Instruments and some things that is Sound based , thsts what i meantioned so far
But whatever youre moving Forward to , These haters will stay tuned to hate
Thsts their Task 😂😂😂
The more they hate the more you know that your in a High Level of music production
And IT doesnt Matter If your become the biggest Star because i listen to music of friends and Here is Platinum music but never Sold and Nobody was able to listen IT but me
And thats sad for Others but industry is a tactical system with people trying to get Money from what you build up
Fans and a Lot of good people want to Support you and the Special Things you create
If you realise this IT only Matters what your music becomes and everythjng Else around IT Happens by itself the more you Level up , and the more you yourself is becoming own music industry
I wished i could Produce and understand things Like you already do
I feel No jelousy
Its good to See someone having the Same passion
In a room full of Platinum Hits , i dont feel small beside the Hit producer , because IT says nothing about the Person itself , IT IS only showing a specific result of his Intension or passion
If its Intension He dont even need to Love music
To me only people have a true passion and Love for music Matters
Thsts why i dont listen so much music , because the Most of them Feed their Egos Not their Souls
I saw Professional Producers talking about daws too
He named three daws
Pro tools
Pro Logic
Ableton
I Font know about FL Studio but ableton in combination with the Push plus akai apc IS a Monster combination
You can Work almost without a Mouse and the Most Things is displayed on the Screen
Just third party Plugins IS Not completely able to map to the controllers
But as you are Professional about music production and surely with daws you already know
Keep your stuff on youtube it is a valuable reference source.
@@markgivens2557 forgot to say the same in my posted comment, but definitely agree 👍🏾
Of course! I considered taking down some old videos, but I think my growth might inspire the next person.
@@KickbackCouture most definitely you are so.smart and good at presenting.
@@KickbackCouture Thank you
This is a honest video, I’ll tell you a secret.
@Nothingspeshalwaysfresh What DAW are you using now?
@@DJURBANBGBitwig and Renoise
I've been listening to my freinds production after he switched to Bitwig he produces DnB and I watch him do things I can only dream of in Reason 13, he has a Bitwig shortcut keyboard he bought from Editorkeys, I'm hoping they update there Reason 1 so it's compatible with 13
oooooh i hope this isnt weird but you gave me a boner. (and yea, there's a trial and she's downloadin' as we... ope, it's ready, peace)
Same here. I switched to Bitwig a couple years ago and never looked back. I use the reason rack to still have my favorite reason plugins. It's crazy when you combine that with Bitwigs modulation. I know you know ;)
MASSIVE BLOW TO REASON STUDIOS.....and im happy for you as ive watched your dedication and growth.
Move on...youre not alone.....
Thank you! They'll be okay. You know they're unphased by us, at least publicly.
More people need to know about the MPC DAWs.
Bbygirl don't trip, we love you. Head up, chest out. Keep moving forward. Let's get it!!!
I think we all know who this video is actually for. God Bless Ryan.
I'm always going to use Reason but that doesn't stop me using other DAWs they are all tools
this is a factual statement.
This is great for you... I will miss your Reason tutorials although I know you will still be doing some Reasons Videos but I'm looking forward to your next chapter... Good Luck Kickback Couture
That's the plan! Thank you!
People are so mean, good for you fam. Still gonna support regardless.
Big facts! Thank you!
The reasons community needs you Kickback your a legend for real
YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!!!! THANK YOU so so much!!! 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡
Let me first say thanks for the loads of video content you provided throughout the years. Thank you 🙏🏾
When first discovering your channel about some years back I actually stopped using Reason and focused on iOS music production full time.
I'm a long time Reason user currently trying to learn FL Studio, so I look forward to your new content if FL is the way you decide to go.
You absolutely cannot please everyone! Thank You for ALL you have offered and given because of the person you are!! Much Respect. Be yourself!!! 🎼😀
Thanks for the support over the years!
It so much better for me that way
I appreciate that!
I started making these videos because all I saw were FL Studio tutorials, and I thought I could fill a gap in the content world. I believe many Reason creators have filled it, but not many are looking for us. It shouldn't matter what software we use-it's about music!
Raleigh Simmons, You ARE A BLESSING FOR YEARS.
Helluva run! Looking forward to the next chapter KC :)
I used a lot of your videos to learn what I needed to in order to get the job done I greatly appreciate you your the Reason genius you don't know how much you helped your the best.
Great to hear! I'm glad I could help you. Thanks for tuning in! 🙏🏾
Whatever feels exciting and current to you, go for it 👍
You could even show your already finished songs, highlight what possible innovations you've got going on in your songs etc. Im just dropping seeds here, that is what i be doing.
It's your life, your channel, your time...just go wherever your muse takes you. I'll be lurkin' around, lol. Stay inspired! 👍
Rules?
Reeeespekkk! I stopped using Reason years ago, but continued to watch your videos over the years. You a real one!
I appreciate that!
But, imma try to ride it out for a while…or until maschine adds a traditional linear sequencer 😏
At the end of the day, your last sentence in this video hit the nail on the head.
I followed you from day 1 and where ever you go I will follow! ps I love your rap videos they are ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Studio one here also . Reason vst works fine in it . Missed dr rex
You are a great influencer and teacher. I feel you! I went from ASR-10 to Reason and it was a game changer for me. A year and a half ago I moved over to Serato and never looked back. It's all about finding what brings the creative out of you and keeps it fun. Appreciate you sharing this!
Level up time! Let's gooooo!!!! 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
You are 1 of 1. Thank you for all you’ve done and will continue to do.
Best of luck. You've been a wonderful asset to the Reason community.
Keep growing. Your stuff is amazing 🎉🙌
Thank you! Will do!
Whatever daw you choose next im here for the content juju 😊
Thanks!
There was never a tie. We are loyal and they aren't. Thank you for your support over the years!
I just can say thank you for all the work you put in this. I grew up on your videos. Have fun with the next step!
Very proud of you! I always new you would grow and be great. Keep moving on!
Take the red pill Babe! They don't try to be the best and it shows! Thanks for letting us know.
I am glad you continue to make content!! Keep pushing through!!
@@KickbackCouture Hah! I'm here for whatever is next!
Thanks for the support over the years!
That's the plan!
Much appreciated on the videos. Really professional and informative. Definitely do what will drive you forward and grow going forward. 🤘
I wish you much success in whatever platform you operate in stay true to your goal.
I appreciate you! 🙏🏾
County.)
Reason and Ableton Live work well together. It's my favorite combination for producing. It allows me to use the best of both DAWs together.
Regardless of the direction you decide to take, I look forward to seeing your future videos. I like the style of your teaching and the effort you put in to what you do for yourself, and all of us Subs.
love the content. will follow your journey no matter what DAW you use
I use Nuendo but really enjoy watching your video as i love you teaching style and passion,,, you will be successful in all that you do.. can i suggest an idea,,, maybe try all other DAWs using free trails ,,, i can also access some if you would like to borrow them and have some NFR contacts too,,, this will cross reference you in the algorithm,,, maybe a short mini series,,, I for one really would value your opinion of certain other DAWs ,, peace and love
going to miss you. Always great content!!
JMD ✌🏽🙏🏽
Reason software is great and amazing music is made with it every day. Thank you for the support over the years. 🙏🏾
Sounds like me! I'm learning to write with my non-dominant hand. 🙏🏾 thanks for the support! I'll continue to use everything but I'll show it more.
Good for you. Take care.
You and Sef Nitty got me back in reason. I was heavy on the maschine.... Been thinking about going back. its much more fun to these days
I want to thank you for all your info I don't use reason but you help me your tools on my mpg so I look forward to seeing what's next for you
Thank you for everything!! ;)
I wish you an exciting journey!! ;)
Thank you! You too!
Thank you!!! And best wishes for your future endeavors!
Thank you! You too!
it's wild you held on this long! Big respect, you single handedly keeping them relevant to be honest, and I'm a Reason user myself
I appreciate that! Thanks for the support over the years!
Proud of you... have been for a longtime👏👏👏🏆
much love, thanks for all you have done thank you. you Rock!
Awesome under-rated channel. Thanks for everything you do! I'd love to see some more Ableton Live stuff. Hooray!!
Been watching you for a long time. Your videos are great. Thanks for everything
Jelie, you're awesome. Regardless of which avenues to decide to explore, there's no doubt that you'll make waves (no pun intended). Good luck - we'll all be waiting and watching! Thanks for your content thus far.
btw - I vote for Ableton Live!
Haha!
Wishing you all the best and prosperity.
Thanks for all of your videos about Reason I was non stop Reason up until I got my MPC and I’ve been using that solely
The fail of Reason 13 is leaving a very sour taste in the users mouth which has drawn the last straw for many as it is far more apparent they don't care about their customers and what they want.
Reason 13 may be the worst version of a daw that has released, I cant actually think of any worse fumbles in the history of Daws
Thank you! Will do!
