    I felt like the entire GA community, you and Aaron were flying high when we realized that yes, that is a blue spruce going in the same spot as the original. It’s like healing a hole we didn’t even know we had!

    I've always felt plants had life to a point but for me trees have souls. These trees do not know how lucky they are to have found their new home with you. The love you'll give and the joyous laughter of your children and family as they grow, together. To think one day your children might sit under them, with their children, recalling the stories that mum and dad told of the tree's arrival.
    I could tell you wanted to hug that tree Laura, and I concur. I can't tell you the times I've hugged trees in our woodland or gardens haha. And when I can look back and remember sitting under one with my dear mother, long gone now, and the laughter and tears both that the tree took up...They really are a thing of beauty and a part of the family.
    Welcome Trees!! To your new home, you'll get all the love of the family and all of we GA crew as well. SO happy for you and your garden. Thanks again for all you give to all of us Laura and GA.

      I have similar feelings about trees ( not a hugger). The spruce brought tears. Congratulations.

    • @DonnaDavisArt
      @DonnaDavisArt 2 роки тому +7

      @@YSLRD It's funny, for people, I'd say I'm not a hugger, but I do love to hug a tree now and again. We have a very old pine in our woodland that I dream of making a round bench around and I have fond memories of that tree with family, so if I'm down, I might give it a hug haha.

    • @stephaniebalducci6248

      I'm a tree 'hugger' with no shame but spruce can be pretty painful to hug. 😂 Seriously, there's something about trees and being with them that speaks deeply to my soul. 💚

    • @DonnaDavisArt
      @DonnaDavisArt 2 роки тому +3

      @@stephaniebalducci6248 So true, usually stroking the spruce's fronds is a bit nicer than hugging, so I agree :) It's as if tree's have the stories of the past to tell if we sit quiet and listen.

      @@DonnaDavisArt being a tree hugger doesn't mean literally hugging the tree. It means being avid about saving trees and not wanting to needlessly cut trees down for self gain.

    Love all the trees you have planted. Russell was just being a "tree hugger", so loving.
    I am a tree person also. The joy is wonderful. My father had a passion to plant trees. I would go with him. We had so many trees in our yard. I've planted in my current location many varieties. I did a tree project at the neighborhood elementary school at the end of my street. Well over 45 trees over a time of 30 years. Also took students to the local Arboretum for several trees there.
    Thanks.

    I live in the South and we have pine trees, (they are not something I would call aesthetically pleasing to look at) and I haven’t been able to really appreciate all the spruce and evergreens you were putting in your garden until last week. I was in Oregon and drove from Seaside to Cannon Beach through a National Forest and all the way to the East side of the State. Oh my!!! I have never seen such beautiful trees so perfectly shaped and they were everywhere. The Forest looked liked the planting of the trees was planned, lol. I told my friend that I totally understand why you love these trees so much now. Videos just do not do them justice. You live in a beautiful State and I got so excited to see your new trees. I get it now and I guess the old saying that “seeing is believing”, holds true. 😃

      I'm so sorry for your loss. I live in the Texas panhandle. Every tree here has been planted and cared for because, other than a few native trees from Palo Duro Canyon, this was nothing but prairie grass and later, after the cattle drives, mesquite showed up and a few cottonwoods and elms near the Canadian River and it's tributaries and offshoots.

    Your excitement is palpable, so happy for you! We had a 35-foot London plane that was installed the exact same way in Western WA. It is 50 miles west of Mt. Ranier, and we get some weather including heavy wind. The tree has a huge canopy and leaves-the grower said it could act like a sail and carry the entire tree away. We had them do 6 anchors, and it stood just fine against wind gusts up to 80 mph. I too lost some sleep, but 7 years later it is still there and glorious. We removed the tethers after 1 year, as recommended by the grower. It took about 2 years after planting before we saw substantial new growth. The first two years it sort of just hovered but leafed out beautifully in the spring each year nonetheless. The first few storms were indeed nerve-wracking. I’m optimistic yours are going to do great.
