After Haney beat Abduliev, he called out Santiago not long after that. Mid training camp for Santiago, Haney was “mandatory” to fight Loma which doesn’t make sense because Haney vs Santiago wasn’t sanctioned to fight for Loma & he was mid training camp so it can’t happen. He was only ranked 1 & requested to be Lomas next mandatory. Haney beat Santiago & then was out for 6 months for rehab after me messed his shoulder up, Loma Vs Teo was being made during that time & Top Tank requested Loma to be Franchise champ. Teo vs Loma date extended 2x & there was no time within that time period where Haney could’ve fought Loma. Also WBO & WBA would’ve requested Loma to fight a mandatory for those title before the WBC title anyways even if Loma was mandated to fight Haney. Haney better get off this narrative.

Loma is a great fighter and one of very few who never had a padded record. He never fought guys with journeyman type records, from fight one to his most current he fought too competitors. That super rare and has to be respected. But I feel he had his time in the sun, it’s not too old he’s still relatively young but I think he peaked already. Gonna be a good fight but it’s Devins fight to win.
