Renaming of Sue-meg State Park (Previously Patrick's Point State Park)

The California Department of Parks and Recreation Commission unanimously voted today to rename Patrick’s Point State Park to Sue-meg State Park, to honor the placename used by Yurok people since time immemorial. In this livestream, Skip Lowry and Maiya Rainer (California State Park Interpreters and Yurok descendants) will discuss what this decision means to them as Indigenous people and as California State Park employees.
