AVAA! I love RXK Nephew and it's good to note he's nowhere near as homophobic/transphobic in real life (at least toward his fans) as he can portray sometimes in his music. I found out about him last year through a screenshot of a hilarious DM exchange where a fan asked for Nephew's thoughts on femboys and explained the concept, to which he replied "I have a cousin like that ! He know how to fight and Robb people, so I just mind my business cause gay n- be regular ppl who hit licks too n they got guns" Awesome guy.
i think its important to note that he often calls people out for not being their selves. For instance he wouldn't call you out for being gay if you were openly gay, only if you are hiding it and not being true to yourself will he call out the fact that you are actually gay.
AVAA, I highly suggest listening to beam on ya toes next. Definitely satirizes addiction while being genuinely catchy and describing the inconveniences of that lifestyle. Also goes hard in the club
AVAA prof skye you’re making me actually appreciate literary analysis somehow. Never thought this type of content would be made on such an obscure rapper
Thank you so much Prof! It’s so refreshing to see neph be taken seriously. I thought I was the only one looking too deep into it. I listen to him at work and sometimes he makes me stop and think which is the most valuable thing music can do. AVAA
Aye I’ve been listening to Neph for 5-6 years since he had like 1,000 subs max he’s a goat. I’m the conspiracy goat tho but yes he does know some good basics of it. this my fish page.😂
AVAA! the only thing i disagree when it comes to these past two rxk nephew songs is your opinion on the beats. Personally I think they are fantastic and do add a lot to the song. the america terrorist beat reminds me of a cross between memphis rap and 2001 a space oddessey. Just this looping ambient beat that swirls around and sets the stage for nephew to express his thoughts. The haunted screams in Slither Conspiracy's beat are fantastic and add so much to the nightmarish aspects of neph's music imo.
Aye Professor Skye got that giving holiday spirit. Every video has been fantastic forreal. Dawg if you do The Real Lil Reese by Neph that would be too epic. At this point you have a legendary catalogue Prof👌🏾. Thanks for nourishing peoples minds in such an entertaining and accessible way.
I actually think the beat lends a lot to the song. It's ambient and surreal. The surrealness makes the lyrics hit harder. I imagine sitting on a porch in the desert at night with RXK Nephew as he explains his opinions about our society. I'd also guess that the beat put Neph in a more contemplative mood as he wrote and/or freestyled this track -- something like a trappier beat would probably not have led to as interesting a song.
His 2021 album Slitherman Activated is definitely worth checking out as well. It would be my favorite rap album of the year if it wasn't for Injury Reserve
I actually got that Diogenes and Alexander the Great scene Tattooed on my thigh, for all the odd things Diogenes said and did, I reinterpreted his response to Alexander the Great wanting to be him as "If I were not myself, I too would choose to be me." Great video as always, love RXKNephew, AVAA!!
I think you're right about crack being the great equalizer. I think crack is being used to make us see the equivalence between crack and cash, the way that crack is used you could almost replace crack with the stimulus check. The way that all the celebrities use crack and do not get backlash for that dependency as opposed to the dependency of the stimulus check and the government. it is the great equalizer between the wealth inequalities, where one must be subject to dependency on cash to survive the other chooses to become dependent. Like you also talked about coming from a place of wealth will blind you to the dependency that cash brings which Neph calls out.
AVAA !!! Love the RXK videos. As I’ve been listening to you over the past couple weeks you’ve made me try to think deeper on a number of topics which is really cool. I’d like to maybe see a Lil B vid in the future?? #TYBG

AVAA! I really like your recent videos on the RX Artists! :) I would love to see a video on the dutch international sensation Joost Klein, he makes very unique music and his last project fryslan is amazing!
AVAA - if you are going to continue this series of analysing the works of RXKNephew, I would highly suggest a song I consider to be greatly underrated "Unsubscribe Me & Don't Buy My Music". It explores Nephew's hedonism, has some of his most pointed commentary on religion and his performance is highly passionate the whole time.
AVAA! This was a phenomenal breakdown of one of the weirdest things I’ve heard. I’m really impressed that you got everything to tie together so well considering nephs pretty sporadic choice of topics. I’d love to see you do one on operation: kill Chet haze by Devon Hendryx. Idk how much you’d get out of it, and I’m probably guaranteed to be a fan of whatever you post next regardless

Thanks for the interesting video! Really enjoy you covering more underground hip hop artists. I'm curious, have you listened to Young Pappy at all? I think in 2017 he was shaping up to be one of the most interesting rappers in the last decade. Songs like Shorty wit da 40 and Two Cups made it seem like he had a very sardonic understanding of the consequences of his active participation in gang activity, making his eventual murder right when he was beginning to gain some main stream appeal all the more chilling.
