It's been really special for guys like me who play and have loved everything guitar since the early 1980's. The Great Guitar Build Off of 2020 is exactly what the doctor ordered. It's been a godsend for me and I'm sure all of you guys too. Excellent work here, it's a beautiful piece indeed.
Cheers my friend! This has been awesome!
First time i've seen this build. Fantastic use of gorgeous woods. Bare knuckle pickups complement the guitar nicely. Well done
Thank you!
My wife asked what I was watching from the other room and I yelled back, "Shock the Fox shop!" and now she's super-pissed, for some reason. Anyway, devastatingly beautiful guitar, man.
Best comment ever! Cheers, man!
That comment and the guitar are both winners!
Your neighbor can really shred. That Zack guy isn’t too bad either 😂. What a beautiful guitar Tye, congrats on killing it. Absolutely stunning.
Thanks, Brian!

Cheers!🤘
Looks great all I can say
Superb work dude!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
What a beautiful guitar. I'm also building a guitar with a schaller Hannes bridge. What neckangle do you use?Because I'm not sure if I will need a neckangle with when using the schaller Hannes
Thank you! I have built one with no neck angle and one with a 1 degree neck angle. Both worked absolutely fine.
Fantastic
Thank you! 👊
Gorgeous axe
Thank you!
That finish...oh man.
Thank you!
That is a pretty guitar!
Thank you!
How do you give such a glossy finish with oil? It blew my mind away...!!! Would you share your method?
No worries. I sand/polish to 3000 and then I use Odies Oil. After applied, I buff off the following day. It has a molecular bond so you can sand/polish to high grit counts.
@@shockthefox Was going to ask the same, damn. Beautiful wood, fabulous finish. I still have so much to learn
@@maceguitars207 stop it! I will let you know everything that I know... just ask.
@@shockthefox Well first I gotta say, I've just watched some of your other videos and your camera work is spot-on, seriously inspiring. I'm curious about the process getting to 3k, is that with a buffing wheel or with steel wool? I took a cocktail table up to 0000 steel wool once and then hit it with oil, but I believe that's only 600-1000. The finish speaks for itself, beautiful work bud
@@maceguitars207 hand sand and festool sander to 1500 with their paper, then 2000, 2500 and 3000 with mirka soft pads. 0000 steel wool is the same as 2500. I use it to blend colors when dying, but I use the 3000 pad to apply the oil.
Speechless 🤟🏻
👊 Thanks!
🏆👏👏👏👏
Thank you, Mike! 🤘
I think your demos need a young person’s perspective. I know I could make some beautiful noises with that beautiful instrument... I do believe the first song that I’d play on it would be War Pigs. 😁✌🏼❤️🎸🤘🏽
Thanks! I don’t disagree, but you could’ve picked a song that wasn’t released 51 years ago. 😆
@@shockthefox I just thought since it has Bareknuckle Warpig pickups that I should first play War Pigs. Well... it might also have a little something to do with the fact that I can play War Pigs fairly decently. 🤪 I could go with some Foo Fighters for more current stuff if you’d prefer. 😎
Builds a custom Strat with expensive materials..... plugs in to a $30 amp. really?
Why not?
@@shockthefox sounds like shit....
