His lack of ball carrying and inability to know when to settle the game and not play a risky pass are big negatives for me. At his age (29), he's not worth building around because he may not have that many years left at the top level. I think we should cut our losses now and get a more long term AM in the summer.
Exactly. Age is a very important factor that hasn't been mentioned in the video. If a big offer comes in and United does not sell, I'd consider it an actual mistake. Apart from that, I agree with the video. I think, Bruno is very interesting player with a special skillset. For sure, this skillset can put to good measure, the question is, is United able to do so early enough. I highly doubt it. I also think, this chaos element is what brings out the best in Bruno, he is so quick in mind and execution, if you take that away, I am not sure, the output would still suffice. I hope, this notion will now quickly go through the fanbase. Undoubtedly, Bruno is one of the reasons that United haven't fallen even lower in the last few years. But we have to plan ahead. Bringing in big money for somebody over 30 will give us the chance to potentially improve two positions in the team. And god knows the team needs that.
He's going great at Portugal alongside a ball carrying midfield partner in Bernardo Silva. Maybe, we should get a ball carrying midfielder to play alongside him instead of saying he's a liability? Just check his stats at FBREF, he's literally 98-99 percentile when it comes to creativity. So, how many players are better than him in the AM position? Well, just one or two players.
@@mattdaniels6430 you say we have to sell him if the right offer comes? So, who do we replace him with? Literally no player that's more creative than him in world football who's younger than him.😂
@@benedictjajo I agree, finding a replacement is neither an easy task nor a cheap one. But for all that Bruno is as a player, look at Uniteds overall output, look at our goals scored, our xG. Compared in our league, we are like 12th... And even in more successful seasons resultswise, we haven't been up there with the best WHILE having such a good player as Fernandes. So other teams manage to create as much and more without channeling everything through one player. I seriously hope, we are going down the same route. I wouldn't even say that would mean the end of Bruno because I certainly think, be can be useful when applied right but the question here was "what if a big offer comes in?" and knowing his age, we have to make smart decisions. Taking big money for a player in his 30ies is important, especially considering that there is quite some work to do on the team.
I just think that he's just exhausted and when Mount/Eriksen come back he should go on the bench for a few games. Maybe the captaincy is having an effect as well as it seems he's trying too hard to influence the game because he thinks he has to as captain, perhaps taking the captaincy away might improve his game and seeing how Maguire is now playing far better since he's no longer captain, it could work.
Which begs the question: Do we even have a true captain in our team? Is there any obvious candidate for that responsibility. No one other than Diogo Dalot comes to mind.
@@victorokeke3395Martinez is the only one from this group. Casemiro will have to up his game in the coming months to make people not consider replacing him. Varane is made from glass and Shaw is just as unsuited as Bruno is. Onana might be a good idea but he does have to establish himself more I guess. There certainly are not many candidates around, Martinez being the only one. But the captaincy shouldn't be something coming into play when considering a player. I think, there aren't many who want to get rid of Bruno at all cost. But when a good offer comes in, we simply have to take it. This season has us asking how much of the present of United Bruno is, the question in the summer should be, who is and will be the future for United. A good amount of money will help to set us better up.
@mattdaniels6430 when Bruno came here, he said he wants more goal contributions than appearances. The fact that he hasn't been able to influence games the way he wants to under ten Hag perhaps has sent him down a negative spiral. I would like to believe that without the burden of captaincy, which clearly he is finding too heavy, Bruno will thrive in the midfield for years to come. But that is just wishful thinking, I guess. Maybe he will never find the composure we need from a number 8.
@@RASMUS119 In my eyes, that is simple, Bruno is an awesome player as a 10, maybe as a 2nd striker, maybe in the odd game as a player on the wing (in a Mata like role) but he never has been and still is not an 8. He has always been too weak for that, his carrying isn't ideal for it. Forcing him into such a role doesn't seem to be a good idea. I think, Bruno couldn't have chosen a better time to join us, he arrived when Ole was looking to built this ultra transitional unit, trying to be as vertical as possible. This brought out the best of Bruno (and most likely Rashford). But such a playstyle has its limits and will lose its edge if you don't create at least one reliable way of scoring like dead ball situations or drawing pens by adding really strong dribblers. Everything catered to Bruno, which helped him to boost his numbers while, unfortunately, United as a team was kind of stuck. So many people look at Brunos stats, celebrate them for being "best in the league" and don't want to question him. But they don't acknowledge (or don't want to acknowledge) that as a team, we don't create as much as teams that don't have such a great player. So for all his numbers, the teams output hasn't really been convincing for quite some time and while this surely isn't "just because of Bruno", I think it is safe to say that he is a factor and he shouldn't be seen as unquestionable.
The wisest comment I have read on this video. Most people have overlooked this. Bruno is exhausted. I saw a stat that he has only missed one game in the epl since he joined us. Last season was very exhausting. I believe he needs some time off. Unfortunately he won't get it. Once the season ends if i was eth i will give him an extended break. Check his previous season's when he joined us. Was he like this ?
Yes, the problem is both Bruno and Casemiro are transitional and with the added fact that our frontline has pace and thrives running in behind open space, it's obvious ETH has such a set-up. Kobbie and Bruno with technical DM OR Casemiro and Kobbie with technical AM is more balanced. If we get a technical ball playing DM beside Kobbie who has defensive positional awareness and can put in a tackle (like De Jong or even a player below his level but same profile), then with a right CB beside Licha and a two footed winger in the squad, we are good to go. I really don't think we could be a pure slow patient possession style team and maybe we shouldn't be because that's really not our DNA. I want us to be a team very good on the ball and have technical players BUT the forte being transitions (exactly how Real Madrid play with Vini, Rodrygo and now in future with Mbappe). If we are going to replace Bruno, it only and only has to be Wirtz. He has got the passing range, close ball control, receiving in between the lines and basically everything. I personally think that Mount needs to be tried there. I saw him live during the 21/22 season and he was amazing. It could work out very well👍
I genuinely feel like this is the reason why ten hag brought in mount because if we look back to the match in the league cup against crystal palace, there was a nice balance to the game. We controlled the game, had possession and also countered in some situations too. Granted it was in the league cup against a bad crystal palace side but the evidence that we can have balance was there. My only problem with mount is can he be someone that can drag us out of a ditch when the chips are down or be a match decider when the games on a knives edge. If he can he can become that then we would be good for another 5-7 years especially if we bring in someone like kamara from west ham to become our number 6
@@aidanmagill6769 I agree with you in the sense that amrabat could have been the ideal profile for a number 6 at man utd however, the fact that he’s not a ground eater is a huge problem. I personally don’t think he’s athletic enough for the premier league. In possession though 👌🏾
@@adelowofamadewa7509 Even in possession he left a lot to be desired considering he came with pretty good passing statistics. For United, this hasn't been on display yet. The guy has another 2-3 month to show something, otherwise goodbye. We have to make sure the starting lineup is great, the next thing is making sure the starting lineup will stay as good or become even better in the next 2-3 years. Only if that is achieved, we should think about who might be good to have as a sub.
@@adelowofamadewa7509 Exactly, Mount was labelled as an upgrade (age and versatility wise) on Eriksen. So, no one really thought of him being tried out in that no. 10 role. I think Kobbie and Bruno are definitely starters but the 3rd CM has to be a technical DM so that Kobbie can play as a no. 8. We really lack a player like Fede Valverde, Szoboszlai, Barella, Gavi etc who do all the running and dirty work in a way uk. Casemiro is that and everyone knows it as no one really blames his ability but only his physical capacity. Technical no. 6 with good ball playing ability beside Mainoo as no. 8 and Bruno/Mount as no. 10 is the way to go. I hope we get the no. 6 signing right as it's the most crucial position. For me, Amrabat doesn't seem like a regular starter, great squad player to have.
Bruno gave the ball away over 20 times in the 3-2 win over Villa. That's not his record though, 29 times vs Galatasaray 2-3 year ago. United aren't winning anything while Bruno is doing that !!!! That's why every game is like a basketball game. BRUNO IS THE CULPRIT!!!!!
Bruno is a high risk and reward player he is a typical United player of old we would risk everything for a goal, but that’s when we had great players all around the team currently there isn’t so it gets exemplified as players aren’t there to bail each other out, example is without Licha everything is slowed done and defensive shakiness occurs.
You just made a case for Frenkie De Jong. A player who carries the ball, who can beat a press and control the tempo while leaving Bruno higher the pitch.
@@benedictjajo he's proven he's a solid holding midfielder. Both from his time at fiorentina and during the world cup. Y'all tossed him into a more intense league into a system that was leaving him exposed and then complain about him "not being Casemiro level" despite the fact that Casemiro was also being cooked when he played that role. And to top it off him and Kobbie actually are our most solid DMF pairing. Despite Liverpool being one of his worse performances, we didn't concede and I believe that had Casemiro started that one we'd be talking about another 7up.
@@ronniekantikana5772EXACTLY. Add to that that Amrabat has played FOUR full league games in his natural position, and it’s no surprise that he’s struggled to find his form. His longest run of games in all comps at DM is 3 I believe. No pre season, brand new league, brand new team, playing out of position, still playing relatively well when he plays, and he’s STILL been judged as not good enough after four games. Don’t get me wrong, he’s no De Jong, but I really think he’d add a lot to our team if given a proper chance. He’s our only midfielder who can track a runner, and he’s a solid ball carrier, too.
Martinez should be Our long-term Captain, when the opportunity arises it's best to sell Bruno in the summer & replace him with Barella & 6 more then we can seriously challenge for league & Europa league Next season! Man Utd should Cash In on at least 10 players in the summer!
I think he's a perfect fit for the team, yet the team underperforms, which is why he has to run that much, being caught off the position, lose balls, because he absolutely has to do everything and try high risk- high reward SCA, as almost nobody can carry the ball, and actually control the possession. With, say, Camavinga and Fede, he wouldn't have been so wasteful in possession and committed mistakes trying to be an orchestra alone
@@ronniekantikana5772 You mean the version of Amrabat many people constructed for themselves last summer. I think, the player they had in their minds never existed though. He isn't covering enough ground, he is not as combatative and strong as expected and for somebody with such good passing stats (last season) he has been pretty underwhelming for United. He has 2-3 month to show something, otherwise it should be goodbye. There is no point pumping 20 million into a 28 year old that isn't looking like a starter.
It’s not the fact that he losses 3 more than them. I think the biggest difference between KDB and Bruno, Wirtz included. It’s the fact that’s Bruno can’t carry like those two.
Lack of rest due to being captain and no available number 10, also he does not slow the game down enough as needed (stoppage time against Luton) otherwise he brings many positives
I’ve said this since day one, he’s a luxury player. To accommodate likes of him you need 10 other players who always outrun the opposition. That will rarely happen. Without Bruno we will get more done with a dynamic player or someone like Maddison/Odegaard.
I think that Bruno needs to be played as a #10 instead of a regular CM. His passes are fantastic, really great for setting up runs by our wingers and Hojlund. However, like McTominay, he can be dispossessed rather easily. He needs a strong #6 behind him that can repossess the ball when he loses it or at least give time for our CBs to stop an attack from the opposition. You are correct in saying he needs to play higher up the field setting up those sick passes into the box that can turn into goals. There is a place for him in the team, its just that we also don't have players that can make up for his weakenesses. Casemiro feels like he can't keep up with the game, Eriksen is not being played, Mount has been MIA the entire season. IMHO Bruno and McTominay combo is the weakest our midfield has been in a long while.
Exactly, the reason is that we are so focused on transitions that ETH deliberately asks him to play deeper and spray those ping balls onto our front 3. See, transition is his best ability but there has to be a balance uk. We are too one dimensional in that way. It's like if we had 2 Kobbies behind him, he would have played exactly as we wanted.
We need to move away from Bruno mate. I love the man for what he has done for us. But he keeps killing us with stupid passes and his shooting in front of goal has become so awful. Yes he creates(majorly for Rashford who cannot buy a goal this season), but half of the shots we face are from Bruno losing the ball when the team have gone high up into attack. We need an 8 who makes better decisions. Know when to go risky, know when to go safe. Bruno doesn't understand that.
Asking McTominay to do that would be just as pointless as having Bruno there. Just for different reasons. Neither of those is the future of United. But Bruno at least offers something in the present. When McTom doesn't pop up with a goal, he is invisible and offers next to nothing. And thats coming from somebody who likes the Scot and hopes for him to get into a team where he can play every match.
ETH has setup to play transitional because his players strengths suit transitional play. ETH has said they cannot play like Ajax due to the players he has.
Rash/G17 - Hojland - Bruno Erickson Maino Casimero Better balance b/n control + transition. (Forest, Utd's next but one game, are looking scary. This lineup could provide a better safety net to their vigorous approach; while leaving them more vulnerable to being hit by counters via the outball to Rash/G17 - one each half to keep them fresh 'n fast)
You can't have Bruno and Eriksen in the same team!!!! Why do people think you have to have a creative midfielder!!!!! You don't. Mainoo, Casemiro and Amrabat are all capable of passing the ball to the front 3 who are all good enough to beat any back 4 by themselves. You need midfielders to win you the ball back, win 50/50's. Be up and down the pitch. Bruno and Eriksen are both weak and too slow. That's why every United game is like a game of basketball they get outnumbered in midfield.
@@chriswood753 You are describing Liverpool from 3 or 4 years ago. Our front three is everything but it certainly is not creative. I don't know, what you seem to see when you watch our matches.
@@mattdaniels6430 Why do they have to be creative ? Why? Rashford and Garnacho are capable of beating a full-back then putting a cross in or shooting. You don't always need a magical pass to score !!! That's where United have been going wrong too many passes instead of going direct.
I honestly think Bruno has been a better all round player for us this season yes the assists and goals haven't been there that's not to say he hasn't been creative enough just let the team blend its a rebuild there will be situations like these till it blends properly with the right signings ETH sets up like this to make the best of what he has at his disposay we get the right personell in and the possession game becomes easier to execute for now we use the tools we have.
I love Bruno. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more hard working player in my life. His passion, attitude, and hard work is genuinely admirable. However, as much as I appreciate what he’s done for us over the years, I really don’t think he’s the way forward. The amount of times that I’ve seen him come deep to collect the ball from the CBs, just to launch a ridiculous ball over the top to our wingers is incredibly frustrating. Whether the pass is successful or not doesn’t matter because even if the pass is perfect, it leaves our winger in a 1v5 with no options, which was completely unnecessary in the first place. As unselfish as Bruno is in nature, I also think he seems to need to be the centre of everything, which is to our detriment. I’ve seen him play RW, get frustrated, go all the way to LW just to get the ball multiple times throughout a game, getting in Mounts way (at CAM), until Bruno and Mount were swapped at half time so Bruno was back to CAM. I hate to say it, but I’m not sure that he’s the team player that he appears to be, especially if we are trying to play more possession based football. He is literally the best transitional midfielder I’m the world tho, I don’t think that can be argued. I hope Mount is given a chance as his replacement. He was world class a couple of seasons ago, over the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons. Chelsea’s player of the season over both of those years, helped them massively to a UCL trophy, 30 g/a in all comps in 2021/22, etc. If he can find this form again, he’d be great for us. Granted, I’m pretty sure he wasn’t playing CAM in either of those seasons if I remember correctly, but I’m sure he’ll be great there anyway. Otherwise, I’d love a proper dribbler and ball carrier like Musiala or Wirtz, but I just think they’re too expensive. We’ve been there, done that, and they’ve all flopped. I do really like Wirtz, and I can’t see how a player that good could possibly flop, but it’s a massive risk either way. Remember that we signed Bruno for half of what they’d cost us, and City even signed KDB for something like £65m. It was 8 years ago, but still.
Hello. Really enjoy the content. Excellent analysis. What’s your opinion of Brahim Diaz as an option for United? With Mbappe arriving at real he’s sure to be a bench warmer but he’s an excellent player. Second striker/false nine/10. He can play right wing and is the right age. Great attitude and unfairly overlooked by both City and Real. We would have to pay a bit extra because of the City sell on clause but he would still be a bargain. Potential fan favourite and he could well galvanise a young group of players going forward.
Bruno is so so good on his good day and because we are so so inconsistent, Bruno becomes suspect. Bruno is a individualistic player but hasn't quite clicked in a system squad. Also, he isnt quite a ball carrying midfielder and he should work on that part of his game, because already he is a great transition player but not quite a possession player and hence looses the ball alot for comfort. I don't think that Bruno is our number 10 for the future but Mount could be just that alongside Mainoo and a De jong profile type of player to play a perfect Ten Hag style
I think Bruno's shortcomings are way more pronounced this season when he's also actually out of form and aren't getting any goals and way fewer assists. People have been talking about how much Bruno was giving the ball away almost since he first came. But when he's involved in 60-70% of our goals, this isn't much of an issue. If nothing else we should consider ourselves extremely lucky he didn't end up at Liverpool. Imagine how many more goals he would have helped them get the last few years. They would have won more titles for sure.
If there's a solid double pivot in behind him that can control games and be neat in possession, it might mitigate Bruno's weaknesses. Mainoo is a start but he needs a solid partner who's neat in possession too, someone like a Rodri, Carrick type of player. I like the look of Zambrano.
United have been playing that way all year!!!! it's basically a 4-2-4. It doesn't matter if United had Rice and Bellingham as the 2 holding midfielders. 3 players always beats 2. Bruno is the problem. Would Pep or Klopp pick a player who gives the ball away over 20 times a game? Bruno isn't physically capable he gets overpowered by better and more athletic players. Look at the top midfielders all powerful and quick. Bellingham, Rice. Tchoumeimi, Camavinga, Musiala. Szlobaslei, Paulinha (Fulham) Rodri and FDJ. Would Bruno outrun or push ANY of those off the ball.
@@chriswood753 I get your point but look at Thomas Müller for instance. He's not quick nor powerful nor a good ball carrier but he makes his impact in the final third as he has generally had quality in behind him with the likes of Kimmich, Goretzka, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Thiago, etc. running the midfield. If I recall, Bruno played his best football when he had Pogba behind him on a decent run of form at one point of time. Even Pep plays Álvarez as a 10 behind Haaland and Arteta plays Havertz, not every player in the starting lineup needs to be a Rodri or an Ødegaard.
We should sign Ross Barkley as a free agent. He is an effective ball carrier good physical profile in both boxes. As a former number 10 he has a good record for key passes and is somewhat press proof. He comes on cheap wages and we could swap him out for Erikson or Mctomminay who Aren’t well equipped to play in a high press gagenpressing game with possession elements that it looks like we want to play with the first 11.
He can't win the ball back!!!!! When have you seen Bruno win a tackle? He gave the ball away over 20 times in the 3-2 over Villa. 20 times in 1 game!!!!!!!!
@@chriswood753 he has the potential to be a good pressing forward (by forward i mean attacking players). offensive players in gegenpressing team doesn't have to be good at winning the ball back, the willingness and the teamwork is all they need, counterpressing is a team effort and united were never well-drilled as a high pressing team, they were not designed to win the ball higher up the pitch, and when rangnick or ten hag try to implement it, it turns out very poor because the players weren't used to it. he's already 29 now, of course it's too late, but even now if he's in a klopp or naglesmann team, he'd surely start. also players like bruno would find home in a gegenpressing team because it isn't really about keeping the ball, but it's about mitigating high-risk play with off the ball intensity to win the ball back.
I still don't understand how we still respect this guy after he took the cowards way out to miss the Liverpool game. Some CAPTAIN! I want nothing to do with him.
@AJ-ry8qd he got the yellow and missed the game... lying 🤥 oh yeah not just any game against out BIGGEST rivals! CAPTAIN. Same thing last season begging to come off that 7-0 right. CAPTAIN.
I think we are just looking for problems where we dont need to, sure we can look at the negatives, but they dont outweigh the positives, the positives outweighs the negatives of the current system massively
Thats your take. The league position says differently. And while the results have been quite good recently, lets not act as if the performances were great. So no - the current system has to be overlooked on a constant basis. I am quite confident the next good side we come up against, will provide another reality check
@@mattdaniels6430wow, the league position is because of Bruno? You twat. Injuries, GK mistakes, Rashford and Antony having literally 0 goals contribution the first half of the season.. . I'm sure it's all because of Bruno and none of the other major reasons I've just mentioned.
I think we've seen Bruno played in a much more controlled manner at times. So I think he's able to play in a more retaining possession if those are the tactics by the gaffer. It's probably not his prefered playing style. But if Ten Hag decides it's time to curb the constant transitioning and have a higher % of possession, I think Bruno can still be a part of that.
Its events like against Luton, which drive me up the wall. We get a corner, take it short, then Bruno lashes a ridiculous shot and Luton then go upfield and nearly score. He needs to play with his head, not his heart.
You always have to look midfield balance. I think, casemiro and mainoo with bruno makes good balanced midfield. Casemiro and mainoo are good on the ball, little bit defensive minded. So we need someone who can take risks in front of them.
Good content as usual, however, to your actual question - yes Bruno Fernandes is a problem for us. Fans who said this 2yrs ago were called haters, no. If we want United to sit alongside the elite in Europe, he has to be sold. Statically and through some of your screenshots, you've showed us some of his "chances created". However, as fans, we watch games with our eyes - where are the big chances that our players are missing. I dont recall him laying chances for Rasmus on a plate. Please dont compare his loss of possession stats to players who play in ball dominant sidee, such a weak argument, not even worth a response. The guy is a hindrance to us. The last play v Luton on Sunday sums him up. To give away the ball in 90+ mins, only to allow Luton to earn a corner and almost score.
Not all chances created are equal! Just as losing the ball in our defensive third isn't the same as losing the ball in the oppositions third with defensive cover. Bruno is a statmans wet dream as the way he plays skews stats and you can maniuplate them anyway to "show" hes a good player to the average "fan" who doesnt understand the game. I'm so happy many of the comments are aware of this nonsense. if I pass you the ball and you shoot from 40 yards with no prospect of scoring is that the same as a perfectly weighted line breaking pass to a team mate for a tap in? Guys like AJ need to be honest. Football In general needs to go back to valuing assists as a true indicator of creativity or at least hockey assists (the pass before the assist)
United, with Lindelof/Maguire and Varane as CB should not be playing quick transition football. The lack of pace and gaping space between the centerbacks and the midfielders is astounding. Bruno and United forwards of Rashford and Garnacho lose possession for fun and in transition too frequently and easily, and United concede chances every time. Just about everybody is out of position, and it seems they caught off guard by a loss of possession that shouldn’t be so frequent and sloppy.
Bruno is definitely the reason why United are so open. Every time he gets the ball he wants to create a goal with a risky pass straight away. Everything Bruno does seems to be in a rush!!!!! How often do his risky passes come off? not many times. Bruno loses the ball in bad areas leaving Casemiro and Mainoo outnumbered while Bruno is too slow to get back to help. In fact Bruno is awful off the ball he can't tackle as he's physically weak and slow. Players get by him with ease. ETH has got to sort that midfield out. Hojlund, Rashford and Garnacho are enough to trouble any back 4, Bruno is not needed. ETH should play a 4-3-3 Midfield of Mainoo, Casemiro and either Amrabat or McTominay. Drop Bruno he's not a midfielder.
Could it also be tactical, Rashford and Garnacho also dont cross so much, Bruno isn't playing as a 2nd Striker type of Am that he was under OGS, we really need a technical midfielder to compliment Bruno, we had Pogba back then, dont know he is available but in a perfect world Musiala would be amazing for Utd.
(Man think of how many times we see Bruno run back to make a key block. Rooney Syndrome) Really feels like we're all losing faith in ETH. What's weird is we saw how savvy Ten Hag could be last year. His results last year were excellent. A Cup and a final with that start? Brilliant. The team just looks sketchy as all hell this year. Is he stubborn and off? Agree with your solution. He's so good that it's worth working around. That casemiro buy was just classic woodward with a hole we needed to fill solved in a horribly way strategically. 70mil for Case was just so bad given his age and now given his profile.
United should of a necessity replaced. Bruno Fernandez, He's a fantastic player but with his age and the resale value. He could fetch some box for United and at the same time create a free space for United as well
What do you mean unmatched, De Bruyne can Play those long passes from anywhere remember the Newcastle game, Bruno can't do do that Bruno plays obvious passes he can't play clever disguised passes like Odegaard. And this myth about Chances created, when Manchester United played Luton they were tied in Goals with Luton playing less matches and since Hojlund started scoring how Many assists came from Bruno?? Man UTD fans cling on to nostalgia they're still thinking of Ole First season Bruno when in reality that Bruno is gone and may never return and that's the difference between Good players and Elite players, elite players can keep that form for years look at Salah. Last season was apparently his worst at Liverpool, the guy scored 30 Goals... STANDARDS.
"Bruno can't play in a controlled system is a myth" , SPOT ON.... Does ETH even want to play controlled system bcoz he thinks chaos suits this team better?? The more stable the game the better you're gonna get from Bruno, another myth is he can't do one two's but the truth is the system doesn't warrant him doing that, his job is to get the ball to the wings not through the centre in the current system and honestly I think he is decent in tight spaces obviously not elite but certainly pretty good just look at the last game where he did that and created a chance for Rashford who shot with his left foot and was saved by the GK ..
EtH can’t play in control system, because he got no players in the back, beside martinez, onana. All the backline maguire, varane, luke shaw, lindeloff, bissaka, and maguire are chaos system players, and in upfront with rashford its more chaotic! When 70% team is chaotic where will you find control? I think EtH should move smartly by selling casemiro, maguire, varane, lindeloff, bissaka first and then rashford later, bring some players who know how to keep ball in pressure
I think most peoples issue with it is yes, he can make magic happen but when it comes to a point when we need to slow down he doesn't seem to have an off switch. that needs to be coached into him or well always be vulnerable to getting overwhelmed
I think this is being ungrateful.. The man has been a rock stepping up when we need him to.. Just because the team isn't doing to well this season y'all Wang to kick him to the curb.. Dislike button for this 1
Wow first time you've shown objectivity however still alot of hyperbole in terms if passing its a lot of hit hope and his weight of pass is still sketchy
If every time you gain possession you give it away by trying to play through balls to your pacy forwards, you are stretching the team out vertically - leaving too much ground to defend with the forward trio already out of the game. Bruno isn't the only culprit but he's *the major* culprit. He needs to play more like he did against Villa and pick his moments to try the high risk/high reward passes.
De Bruyne plays the same way except that when he makes mistakes his teammates are always there to win the ball back immediately. So yeah,if you wanna turn our team into a sideways passing team again then by all means, let's sell him. Just don't complain when we stop scoring again.
It annoys me that in his age,he keeps trying to do it all himself with a killer ball instead of using his head to read the game. No other player and no other serious teams waste the ball like that.
Y play to bruno strengths???? We don't hv team to play to bruno strengths he jus not at a level to compete for big honors its same with sporting Lisbon wen he was there thay had good moments but they never really challenged for the big trophies but as soon as he left they are a very strong organized team with bruno and rashford ur team can't develop a style of play because wen both get the ball its not about building up more play towards the gol rather they try some individual stuff to get goal or assist its so obvious he has to go
mount needs game time, amad needs game time antony, rashford need a new challenge awb, maguire, varane need to move out one more season for onana to prove he can play in the epl bruno stays
I would keep Bruno, he annoys with his nagging tendency to loose the ball easily. It could be team setup, United is forever on transition hence the lack of control and chaotic nature of their games vs almost any opposition. Bruno has no idea how to tempo a game, he lacks game management leadership, he literally wasted a time wasting opportunity for United by taking a shot at Lutron goal. It nearly resulted in a Lutron equalizer after Barkley hit the post. What we need is a technical 10, Bruno plays 99% of games, he is reliable, but he needs a breather, come off the bench sometimes, he needs competition.
Bruno isn't the future for Man Utd. He loses the ball too frequently, and he's a bit chaotic in his football. Yes he's good in transition, but I think he makes players around him nervous with his unpredictability in terms of ball retention, and this breaks the teams rhythm & patterns of play. In 12-18 months we must get an upgrade who has ball carrying abilities and upper body strength.
His input is wanting while his leadership skills are poor. He is a decent player but I guess after playing almost all games recently he is a little bit tired. At 29 years his legs are slowly but surely giving in moreso due to premier league intensity
You cannot win a league with Bruno fernandes starting all 38 games. He’s suitable for some games where transition is key he’s bad at settled possession
To those who wants to sell bruno for the right price. With whom do we replace him with? Jude? Never gonna leave Madrid. Writz? Not even close to Bruno's numbers and he has time to improve but Leverkusen's asking price is gonna be insane, probably 100+ million quid. It'd be cheaper to keep Bruno and sign one ball carrying midfielder and a creative traditional right footed right winger. So, stop talking out of your b-holes if you don't have a solution to the problem.
Reading this comments and seeing how people think bruno is the biggest problem really shows a lot about todays football fans… he has his flaws but he is our best playe its ridicoulous he just has a spell of bad form right now he runs the most, creates the most and is giving his everything every game look at how many goals have come from bruno taking the ball and plazing incredible pass that leads to our goalscoring chance not necessarily asisting bur plazing a pass that creates the chance i guess you dont know what you have until you dont have it anymore… we will miss him when h moves away
That's only according to stats. He did match them and had better G/A numbers than Kevin during the lockdown days but KDB is like one of the greatest CMs of all time and Bruno needs 1-2 major honours and then he surely needs to be considered as one of the best CMs in this generation (not all time).
Bruno came to United when we were a serious transitioning team and performed, ever since we tried to switch from that to play a more possession-based football he has been struggling, and I'm shocked you said he helps a lot against low-block teams, he's rather clueless against such teams but very good against teams that setup highlines and possess most of the ball allowing us to to sit deep and counter, that's when he plays well, because in transitioning he has all the time in the world to give the right pass, I don't think he's a number 10 for possession-based football, we need a young player who is a different profile, you can't control games with such a 10
Ole's two recruits of Bruno & Maguire that got Ole the sack, of course they have the 'Captain's Curse' & they are still at the Club, Joke Thing, AJ. We want to Cash in on Greenwood, Sancho, Mount, Bruno, VDB, Maguire, Lindelof, Willams, Pellistri & Antony etc.. ASAP & recruit at least 6 players this summer e.g. 2CB, 2CM, RW & ST! Then we can seriously challenge for league & Europa league Next season!
Bruno is the definition of a Route One player. boy is way too eager to get rid of the ball on his feet he will keep flinging the ball forward and boom there goes them chance created stacking up. Sell Bruno while he has good value on his name; maybe getting rid of Bruno and others will help Ten Hag get the football that he wants, whatever that may be
Who else loves me saying the wrong thing, and then correcting it on screen with a typo 😂😂💚
😂😂😂 You all right, mate…
I'll tell u guys so that u don't have to watch this. I agree with this video, the point is so yes Bruno is the problem but not the main problem.
His lack of ball carrying and inability to know when to settle the game and not play a risky pass are big negatives for me. At his age (29), he's not worth building around because he may not have that many years left at the top level.
I think we should cut our losses now and get a more long term AM in the summer.
Sell while there's value. That's the smart thing to do.
@@RASMUS119Martinez Shaw Casemiro Varane and possibly Onana could be captains
But also, man plays all game every game, I’m tired for him 😮💨🤕
They just had the winter break and are only playing once a week.
Don't give up on Amrabat just yet.
At last people are willing to talk about him not being the midfielder you'd want in a possession based side..
Man utd has never been a boring possession team anyway.. van gaal was kicked out for trying possession based football..
Man utd has never been a boring possession team anyway.. van gaal was kicked out for trying possession based football..
But we are not a possession based side, Ten Hag said he want United to be thr best transition team🤷🏾♂️
Or Sofyan Amrabat
@@ronniekantikana5772😂
@@ronniekantikana5772nope. Not even close.
If United can get a more calm DMF alongside Bruno and KM. The midfield would be balanced.
Sofyan Amrabat
I think we should do everything in our power to get Wirtiz. He will cost close to 100 million but he will figure some many issues
Lack of rest due to being captain and no available number 10, also he does not slow the game down enough as needed (stoppage time against Luton) otherwise he brings many positives
Best comment so far. He needs a rest. Long overdue
Even Rooney was dropped when Sir Alex felt he wasn't at it. McTomminay can easily go into the attacking mid role for a few games
Rash/G17 - Hojland - Bruno
Erickson
Maino Casimero
Better balance b/n control + transition.
(Forest, Utd's next but one game, are looking scary. This lineup could provide a better safety net to their vigorous approach; while leaving them more vulnerable to being hit by counters via the outball to Rash/G17 - one each half to keep them fresh 'n fast)
Respect, you managed to put a typo into all but one name ^^
@@mattdaniels6430😂😂
Spot on.
Every time he looses the ball , the whole team has to run their socks off to get it back.
I think he's playing 2 much football cause he looks a bit tired
Bro is never injured 😂
Only playing 1 game a week now , man utd only had two games in January
Spot on!!!
Wow. Some actual analysis on Bruno. As opposed to we shouldn't sell him cuz he's crucial with no explanation as to why...
This is a great video AJ!
He comes on cheap wages and we could swap him out for Erikson or Mctomminay who Aren’t well equipped to play in a high press gagenpressing game with possession elements that it looks like we want to play with the first 11.
bruno is truly the type of player that managers like klopp or nagelsmann would love, in a proper gegenpressing team he'd really shine

Do you think thats why we got Mount to play alongside Maino
You always have to look midfield balance. I think, casemiro and mainoo with bruno makes good balanced midfield. Casemiro and mainoo are good on the ball, little bit defensive minded. So we need someone who can take risks in front of them.
Could you do a video on that holding midfield that would compliment him
100% he's part of the problem😢 even though his workrate is up there, we need a better AM
It has come to the attention I always waited 🍿🍿🤦
100% a problem , he doesn't want others like mount to compete for his place , he always want a one goal differences in the game from substituting
A mix between Manuel and Freddie Mercury. Likes to be flamboyant but mostly messes things up
But we have than number six...sofyan Amrabat. He a baller. And he has a lot in his locker. 10hag needs to find the balance between case and sofyan.
Anyone saying Bruno should be sold knows nothing
Spot on bruno giving the ball away too much. Ok if he stays up as a 10 but he is all over the place and is risky when he is close to our goal
(Man think of how many times we see Bruno run back to make a key block. Rooney Syndrome)
Really feels like we're all losing faith in ETH.
He deserves a league title at least...
United should of a necessity replaced. Bruno Fernandez, He's a fantastic player but with his age and the resale value. He could fetch some box for United and at the same time create a free space for United as well
Bruno is good but Mount would be better for the future
Thanks for all your service, Bruno.
But it is time to change.
Let me know who u want at the number 6/8 role
Fernandes shud js go .. ee need a better player
Bruno has great vision but only has good technical quality. Which is why he has such low completion rate
I think this is being ungrateful.. The man has been a rock stepping up when we need him to.. Just because the team isn't doing to well this season y'all Wang to kick him to the curb.. Dislike button for this 1
Yes he’s apart of the problem not only him rashford and co
If Utd get a nice offer he needs to get sold.....the issue is we need to find a long term replacement that can do all the things he cant. Wirtz??
Bruno can’t dribble, his left is non existent, he can’t control.. He should be a super sub, like McT..
It annoys me that in his age,he keeps trying to do it all himself with a killer ball instead of using his head to read the game. No other player and no other serious teams waste the ball like that.
Y play to bruno strengths???? We don't hv team to play to bruno strengths he jus not at a level to compete for big honors its same with sporting Lisbon wen he was there thay had good moments but they never really challenged for the big trophies but as soon as he left they are a very strong organized team with bruno and rashford ur team can't develop a style of play because wen both get the ball its not about building up more play towards the gol rather they try some individual stuff to get goal or assist its so obvious he has to go
Bruno is our main line breaker with those passes and an engine off the ball. gotta channel those two things
mount needs game time, amad needs game time
antony, rashford need a new challenge
awb, maguire, varane need to move out
one more season for onana to prove he can play in the epl
bruno stays
Arg a Bruno fan
get eriksen in on brunos place. we will create many more chances.
Bruno is gold in a system like Ole's. Quick transitional approach. Is good in games ETH goes for that approach too.
Hell no why will you say bruno is the problem
it's true Bruno Fernandes is a problem to Manchester united he not deliver what we expected to him it better him to leave the club
His input is wanting while his leadership skills are poor.
He is a decent player but I guess after playing almost all games recently he is a little bit tired.
At 29 years his legs are slowly but surely giving in moreso due to premier league intensity
The other team have high possession.
So, stop talking out of your b-holes if you don't have a solution to the problem.
where does Mount fit in this team?
good question
I think he might be the Fernandez replacement
Hes not the best number 10.
But we could use him on and off as a umber 8.
Rashford should be gone.
Bruno, on the bench
Reading this comments and seeing how people think bruno is the biggest problem really shows a lot about todays football fans… he has his flaws but he is our best playe its ridicoulous he just has a spell of bad form right now he runs the most, creates the most and is giving his everything every game look at how many goals have come from bruno taking the ball and plazing incredible pass that leads to our goalscoring chance not necessarily asisting bur plazing a pass that creates the chance i guess you dont know what you have until you dont have it anymore… we will miss him when h moves away
To compare this guy to KDB is pure insanity
That's only according to stats. He did match them and had better G/A numbers than Kevin during the lockdown days but KDB is like one of the greatest CMs of all time and Bruno needs 1-2 major honours and then he surely needs to be considered as one of the best CMs in this generation (not all time).
Its not that weird
Even de Bryune highly rates him above all other no 10s in the league
Greatest cm of all time nice joke @@Aarya-v5n
Mainoo also plays in the same system so why’s Mainoo not playing the same way Bruno plays . We must move on from Bruno and get someone asap
Bruno came to United when we were a serious transitioning team and performed, ever since we tried to switch from that to play a more possession-based football he has been struggling, and I'm shocked you said he helps a lot against low-block teams, he's rather clueless against such teams but very good against teams that setup highlines and possess most of the ball allowing us to to sit deep and counter, that's when he plays well, because in transitioning he has all the time in the world to give the right pass, I don't think he's a number 10 for possession-based football, we need a young player who is a different profile, you can't control games with such a 10
In my opinion he not good enough for MUN
Bruno is a good player but he plays with the ball as if its too hot and he got to get it away from is feet 😂😂😂
oh hes good at one thing... spitting his dummy out 🤣🤣😂😂
He loose the ball,he just walk,doesn't press,complains a lot
Yes we should sell Manchester united
Ole's two recruits of Bruno & Maguire that got Ole the sack, of course they have the 'Captain's Curse' & they are still at the Club, Joke Thing, AJ.
We want to Cash in on Greenwood, Sancho, Mount, Bruno, VDB, Maguire, Lindelof, Willams, Pellistri & Antony etc.. ASAP & recruit at least 6 players this summer e.g. 2CB, 2CM, RW & ST!
Then we can seriously challenge for league & Europa league Next season!
Excuses excuses. Ffs!😢
Dive vs Fulham 😂
The club still has no reliable left backs, cbs and rws but bruno is the problem...must be sold 🤡
