Based on Dan Brown’s international bestselling thriller “The Lost Symbol,” the series follows the early adventures of young Ivy League symbologist Robert Langdon, who must solve a series of deadly puzzles to save his kidnapped mentor and thwart a chilling global conspiracy. - Розваги
It turned out better than I thought. Before I was like "it's gonna be bad because they dragged a book to a full season", then it seems that Dan Brown's books need a far longer runtime to tell the story in details.
I definitely agree because the movies felt rushed in comparison to the books. So many things they missed here and there with trying to bring it down to a 2 hour format. I felt like the Da Vinci code missed on some key sections of the book to make up for lost time, sometimes skipping over important details that give context just because they didnt have the time.
I can't imagine another actor other than Tom Hanks
Now you don't have to.
SC week
I always envisioned David Straithairn but I thought Hanks did a decent job. I’ll give this guy a chance. I enjoyed the books and I’ve run out of streaming options. 😀
Tom was above the budget :/
@@maujo2009 😂😂 No truer words
This is my favourite Dan Brown book!!! So happy we have an adaptation FINALLY
I´m so happy too, that´s my favourite book after Origin.
Mine too! The plot twist of this one surprised me the most out of the others.
Its actually my least favorite Langdon book. But I'm still interested.
I'm glad finally there's someone else who felt so too
The plot is amazing but I’d say the ending is anti-climactic
I love this kind of mystery old archaeology escape room indiana jones national treasure style show.
When they ask you for your favorite genre
Whatever he said....
YEEESSSS!! 💯💯
I love that kind of stuff too
You should play the uncharted series on Playstation
Finally I no longer have to imagine the sculpted Ma'lakh!
🤣🙌
same, tbh. 😆
Yeah..
True man
I agree😅
If it does well, they should also make Digital Fortress and Deception Point.
oh yes I agree
hopefully, those two are also very entertaining
I agree! Digital fortress and The Lost symbol are my top 2 favorite Dan Brown Books. Digital fortress is what got me into his books.
Such underrated books
Digital fortress was the 1st book for me, i readed it in one day :3
He may not be Tom Hanks but I'm excited about actually having a young Harvard symbologist. Hoping this does well so we can also have deception point.
The last book my Dad read before he passed. I'll be re-reading this and subscribing to Peacock!
Sorry for your loss buddy hope you enjoy this one for Him 🙂
Sorry to hear that daddy
@@ravigupta2659 thanks, man!
Appreciate you!
This show seems to be doing justice to the book. Can't wait to watch it!!
I have been waiting a long time to see this novel adapted. Cannot wait to see Mal' akh in action absolutely terrified me when i read it in 2009.
64 yr old Tom Hanks is a bit old to play "YOUNG Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon" so quit asking why not Hanks.
And this guy looks too young.
Why not Pattinson
Thats why CGI exists.
In the novels, Robert Langdon is not young, so it would've been better if they cast someone middle aged.
I'm glad they let Tom go, because now that Brown's name is big, they can do without a top billing actor for the role.
This looks fantastic. Finally a fresh spin on the screen adaptations of Browns amazing novels. Can't wait!
just like different actors portraying Sherlock, it's ok there will be someone else portraying Langdon. I honestly can't wait. who else will be reading the book again to get a refresher?
I just started reading this book yesterday and I am loving it so far. Still have 20 pages to go before I finish reading it. I was hoping they would release a movie for it. Now I honestly can't wait.
I just finished reading this book, and now it is my favorite one of Dan Brown books. And I just saw this in my recommendations, I'm so hyped, can't wait the day it comes out !!
my favorite book! Its sad that Tom Hanks isnt in it but Ill definitely watch it!
Hans Zimmer is going to be missed. Can't imagine these adaptations without his music
Just watched the first episode and it deliver right from the start. Even the first episode didn’t draggy or slow by any means. Love it!
After all that waiting, twelve years of it in Azkaban, it's here!
Eddy Izzard, Ron Howard... YES!!
in azkaban jajaja LOL
Who Ron howard?
Opie!! 🙃
I hope they retain a version of the iconic Chaveliers de Sangreal music by Hans Zimmer. I cannot imagine Langdon having any other theme music except that.
Same
Weirdly I just finished this book 2 days ago with no knowldge this was coming out. Now seeing this is fate! literally one of the best books I've ever read
Yea mate you need to read a lot more books if you think it's "one of the best" books you read.
The book that inspired me to become a Freemason. 11 years later, still love it and going strong. Great book.
Welcome, brother.
Mine was The Man Who Would Be King....with Sean Connery and Michael Caine.
you think you know the secrets? only the master mason knows the true purpose of the order.
Happy to see something finally come of the book, but it would also have been nice if the shows/movies could have come out in the order that Mr. Brown published them. Hollywood takes too many liberties with great literature. I look still look forward to this series though, I trust Ron Howard, he is a great director!
Hollywood paid Dan Brown and he advises on the script....so it not allHollywood fault. Money talks
Finally the Lost Symbol!! The books are great and I loved all the movies, I was bummed when they skipped this one, I’m happy they are finally making it
My favorite book. Super excited to see this adaptation of the younger Langdon!!!
1:29 - This is what I've been waiting for so long... I made so many of these when I first read the book😍😍
Simply brilliant..you can't go wrong with eddy izzard..from acting to comedy to his charity work he shines in all he does and doesn't get the credit he deserves! Enjoying every moment of the lost symbol
so, did the series give the book justice and recommended to watch?
@@mastersh5633 it's worth the watch it did the book well..
FINALLY!!! Have been waiting for a movie/series adaptation for soooo long 😍
This guy looks more like what I pictured Robert Langdon looking like years ago when I read this series.
Ok, Thanks for reminding me to finish the book now before this series will be released.
When will it releases
@@thedelusionist8320 Still "coming soon"
I'm reading the book hopefully will finish it soon
On which platform will it launch
@@thedelusionist8320 On PeacockTV. They pasted the link in the description of this video. 👍
Thank you dude but the service isn't available in my country
Great book. Love this kind of mystery. I hope they plan a beginning, middle, and an end and not drag this out infinitely.
Love the song “This is only the beginning “
Yes, it is amazing! I immediately started looking for the full version of this song.
@@ausrejurke and you found it?
Dont know where the song occurs or even the slightest thing about it but i want to hear it now.

So glad you love it! You can listen to it on any platform! Appreciate the support!
Peacock, you have no idea how long I've waited for this.
Define "SOON"????? Can't wait!
Mid-Sep on Peacock.
I’ve just finished the book version and searched up to see how people think about this masterpiece. Glad to see this.
This actor is always on his apex! If you like what he does really look into "The Manhattan project" which he is spot on.
The twist is so terrifying for a father.
Intriguing and visually devastating, just like a trailer of such a masterpiece should be. Awaiting impatiently!!!
Technically, this was short version of the whole show! Thanks! Now I need to read last few chapters of the book and it's done!
So that's what Tom Hanks looked like when he was young. Jokes aside, this looks quite epic.
Choose someone else
so weird that its not Tom Hanks but Im still looking forward to watch this
I can’t wait to see the scene when the lady is running from the antagonist in the dark
The Lost Symbol M.D. The dude looks like a young Dr. House. Probably his first job before he went to Princeton.
Aw it won't be the same without Tom Hanks
I agree
x3
No it doesn't.
Hanks is always confused in movies. His role is to be confused and cry. That's it
Out of the 3 films, I am only interested on Angels & Demons. Didn't bother to rewatch the other 2, even if Tom's in it.
@@almelmendoza8129 Yeah Angels and Demons is one of the best, and Da Vinci Code is really overrated. There are better Dan Brown books, this one being way better. I'm not hating it, I have read all his books, just Da Vinci Code wasn't a special masterpiece.
This Langdon looks considerably more chipper than the movies.
Yes, he looks like he drinks earl grey tea in the morning
I’m sorry, did they say “Katherine, your DAD has been taken????” Lol they’re siblings in the book😫
I just posted a few days ago on Quora that this would never be filmed because the leading lady would be in her fifties. I guess they solved THAT problem. Pity.
@@julietcunningham852 you're comment sounds sooo misogynous. Yall were okay when tom hanks played Robert Langdon who was in his fifties, but the lead lady must only be in her twenties right
@@julietcunningham852 It was mentioned in the book that Langdon was in his 40's, Peter was 58 and his sister Katherine even though 50, was slim and attractive for her age. There're so many beautiful actresses in their 50's like Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett, etc etc etc
Ashley Zukerman is back at the Capitol. Honestly, I couldn't’t imagine Tom Hanks to be not anymore in this adaptation but I’m honestly excited to see Zukerman taking over the role after seeing his great performance in the Designated Survivor before.
If you’ve read the books, Tom Hanks is a terrible Langdon.
No
After three movies, I didn't even know this trailer existed for a year!
Not Tom Hanks ? That's sad , he was the perfect Langdon. Let's see how this series goes
The last Dan Brown film starring Hanks was a flop.
Exactly, excited to see d movie adaptation......but disappointed to see no Tom Hanks...
@@jeefray what are you talking about? despite negative reviews, it still made 220million on a 75million budget... none of the robert langdon movies are flops...
@@benabraham3973 Comparative. The film was a critical and commercial disappointment whereas the first two films were smash hits commercially at least.
0:26 "Professor Langdon?"
"I was expecting Tom Hanks"
Dan Brown: one of the best fiction writers of our time.
waiting eagerly
I watched the beginning of the original movie. Dan Brown's books are so interesting and impossible to put down.
I just finished this book, so this is great news, its a fantastic story!
Same here
A young Robert Langdon 😏I'll give this guy a chance.
I love Dan Brown's books & movies! I am SO gonna watch this!!! It looks great!
Finally a tv show for Dan brown! Love Langdon
I hope chevaliers de sangreal track makes an appearance in this series. It's like Robert Langdon's revelation theme to me.
I liked this actor lot more than the previous one ☺️
Have waited for this for so long
"This service in unavailable in your region."
You watch how many pirates pick this apart to punish you for your arrogance.
I'm not sure how i feel about this. Loved the book. Hope this does justice.
I'm so glad they finally made it into a series, rather than a movie. The movies never do a lot of the books justice
Yup. They always take away the powerful and brilliant female character that Dan brown writes.
Very excited this will be a series!! I loved the movies but hoping this format will give more room to explain things and go more in depth. Looking forward to it!
the movies were terrible comparing to the books, a lot of skipped actions and even main characters
It seems that producers never really read the books when adapting to screen projects. This series confirm (again) this thesis.
I agree with you on this...I was really buzzing with joy upon seeing one of my favourite Dan Brown's book on live screens....on episode 5 and boy..am I disappointed
Hey what happened to Tom Hanks?? How can a Langdon series be made without him? 😔
Same feeling bro
I wonder the same
Get over it! Enjoy the history.
The actor is way too young to be Langdon. Not believing it for a second.
This is the origin of Langdon. Says so in the trailer.
I have to agree though, Langdon without him doesn't feel right.
I read the book, very captivating and interesting book, I can't wait to see the movie. I just hope they do justice to it.
this is what i always imagined langdon to be like OMFG
Awesome!!! I will be missing Tom Hanks but I will watch this series for sure!!!
Im so happy. almost 9 years since I read this.
10 years for me!!
Sadly, I just found out Peacock's not a service in my region...
About 1.5 years for me! Read all of Dan Brown's books from September 2019 - May 2020.
@@elephant35e Welcome to the cult
I personally would've preferred if The Lost Symbol had been made into a movie. But I think the problem is that it might have seem too similar to National Treasure. When you think about it, Dan Brown movies and the National Treasure movies are very similar movie franchises.
Really hope they use the actual House of the Temple! The building is magnificent in real life, and I would love to see it explored on screen!
The Scottish Rite denied access to filming, from what I’d heard.
Not to hide secrets, but because of some of the things Brown wrote that rubbed them the wrong way.
Ashley is so lucky to get this role the young version of Robert Langdon he deserve to be known .Never seen with famous Hollywood interview like kimmel, Fallon,Colbert,Coreen so on
It was a GREAT book. Plan to watch.
Can't wait, I could never understand why it took so long to make this one.
Do you know when exactly it’s coming out? Or has it been released yet ?
This one looks like an accurate adaptation of the book
YES YES YES been waiting on this adaptation since reading the book years ago!!!! Finally.
The wait is over this is gonna be awesome , Ma'lakh is coming🙂🙂
I had to hold myself from not finishing this novel in two days...Can wait for the series!
Mal'akh is an interesting character! Wondering who'll be the one in the movie!?
If Tom Hanks is not Prof. Langdon, I don't want anything.
Tom Hanks will always be my professor Langdon👑
True
I like the idea of this being a prequel
looks not bad.
but Robert Langdon IS Tom Hanks.
I agreed
Can't wait to miss it!
Though Ron Howard's adaptions are mediocre, I still prefer Tom Hanks
At least they were not so Hollywood woke.
Or Mulder from x-files lol
Literally reading this book again right now when I came across this trailer!
Dan Brown is a genius but i want Tom Hanks to play it 👀
YAAAAY IVE BEEN WAITING YEARS FOR THIS ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS OF ALL TIME, ITS ABOUT TIME
finally...im waiting for such a long time to see this
I made a comment that was in support of the production, network and cast, in spite of critical reaction. It was pulled.
Don't alienate viewers, Peacock.
Really looking frwd to this.if only he released books more often
Shame on YOU Peacock!! This show was 100% one of the main reasons I actually signed up for Peacock.
LaME!!!
Great concept and dialog!!
It's Dan Brown's best book in my opinion, and I'm glad to finally see it in theaters. But I can't imagine Prof Langdon in a character other than Tom Hanks
Woah Vice President MacLeish is Robert Langdon!
This is gonna be the best tv show ever
Lol
It will forever be THE PRACTICE for me, but this does look intriguing.
Every chapter of book gave me chills when I first read it. Hoping same for the adaption.
I am pretty sure that The lost symbol was set after The Da Vinci Code. Anyways, this looks to be an enjoyable journey.
No I think this is a prequel.
technically the lost symbol did come out after the Da Vinci Code but the stories don't actually tie in together so it doesn't really matter what order you watch or read in. They started a movie with this book and stopped for what ever reason....glad it's going to be a show! just wish it could be with Tom Hanks lol
During my first time reading the novel, I made some of my own cast for live action version
Langdon: (still) Tom Hanks
Peter Solomon: Donald Sutherland
Catherine Solomon: Joan Allen
Zachary Solomon: Ralph Fiennes or Michael Fassbender
Inoue Sato: Michelle Yeoh
Warren Bellamy: Forest Withaker
Robert Langdon will always be Tom Hanks for me :/
I think Benedict Cumberbatch would have been great for this role
