I know when Windows 8 first came out, I resisted, but lately I feel much more comfortable with it. It's on both my desktop and my Macbook Pro Retina. I'm even considering putting Windows 8 on my netbook after seeing how well it ran on the Winbook. As for the device, it is an impressive devices for only $60. I actually got to play Modern Combat 5 on it and it ran almost flawlessly (a little bit low on the frame rate and a little controller lag). On Friday, I'm going to go and get the 8" version, which I have a feeling will be better with the extra gb of RAM.
This thing is awesome for 60 bucks! Gotta keep in mind the price of this when reviewing, can add a 32gb sd for for like 8 bucks lol which is really the only downside to this tablet ive seen so far. I love it has a full size USB port so you can charge it the same time you hook it to a tv (with micro hdmi to hdmi cable, 6 bucks on amazon). Overall im super happy with this purchase, and windows 8 isnt too bad on a tablet!
The built in flash memory can't be upgraded. This is why they should not sell the 16 GB versions. They should only sell the 32 GB version Because with updating it will lose about 15 GB. You can upgrade the microSD card to 64 GB for only less than $20. The problem is that windows 8.1 does not allow apps to be saved on the microSD card.
"Touch this button to flip to the front facing camera" ... *takes picture* ... *takes picture* ... **takes another picture** Lol. Still a nice review my dude! This is indeed a good device. For the price. Especially now it has dropped even further. Under 60$ tablet with full featured OS.
Hi i was wondering if you can play unoty games on this i would love to play aottg)(attack on titan tribute game) when i get mine and i know ram is low im not looking for high settings i just would love to know if low to medium is possible
Is the screen of your TW700 kind of grainy or blurry when you read text or news in white background? Mine was and I returned for another one but still has the same problem.
I will be picking one of these up today. I am not a computer guru so I have a question. I have Office 2003 on a cd and use it for my work. Is there a way to install it on this tablet, and will it work. I would prefer not to even download the included 365 Office. Thanks in advancefor your help!
Re: I have Office 2003 on a cd and use it for my work. Is there a way to install it on this tablet, and will it work. Office 2003 should install and run just fine on the TW700. With that said since Office 2003 was designed for a "non-touchscreen OS" pairing the TW700 with a Logitech K400 keyboard that has integrated laptop style trackpad and connecting the TW700 to a external display via HDMI vs the 7 inch display will make it you much more productive. TW700 or 801 /802? etc. If you have the cash go with one that has 2GBram, 32gb as with 1gb of ram you are always near paging out data to the swap file. (Regular Windows apps, and windows updates installer can be moved /installed to SD card, but with TW700 using a WIMBoot type setup, the updates themselves go on the system drive which reduces "hard drive" space available, 16GB really isn't enough (Upon first boot you have 5.77B free, let windows update for about 10 days you have about 3Gb free, so install app apps to a SD card). Tip buy Class 10 SD card /fastest sd card you can afford. To keep as much of the system partition space available for swap file install "real" windows applications (EG: full featured apps) that take up alot of space to SD card.
shoenutz The electronic reviews I make earn a lot of money on UA-cam. In fact, many of my cellphone reviews - while low quality - have earned enough money to actually pay me back for the price of the device. I made this review to inform people about the inexpensiveness of these Winbooks, but obviously, I'm doing it for money. My UA-cam channels earned over $1500 last month alone. No kidding.
This guy doesn't understand Windows 8 is designed for Touch devices. Especially for small device like this, and its really different to Android and iOS. This guy really wants the Windows 7 desktop on a 7 inch screen. Pretty dumb attitude.
No, I also want windows 7 desktop experience on my PHONE. That's even smaller form factor than a tablet, even "dumber attitude" as you say. But I want it. And I'd pay for it. So there's at least two of us. Meaning there's demand for this. It'd be so awesome. That's why I bought into Windows Phone 10 originally. (That was a mistake.) They never did bring desktop experience to phones. Only remote desktop but that required a PC, and LAN, not available over over mobile internet. This tablet device bridges that gap nicely. Small PC. Except no sim card so no phone calls. Oh well. Some other technology. Today there exist several Phablet devices (phone + tablet) that do exactly what I want. Windows 10 DESKTOP, in phone form factor. With texting and cellular internet. All I need now is stylus, no not the surface pen + dial combo, that's way overpriced. And needs battery - charging. I guess what I really want is an old resistive (as opposed to capacitive) touch screen that I can press with any old plastic stick. My favorite phone ever was the HTC TyTN II - Ran (full desktop experience moddable) Windows Phone 6, and had a plastic stick exactly how I want it. Plus, full physical qwerty keyboard.

Last year one could even update it to windows 10 for free. Now though, that offer is no more. But staying with Win8 is OK I guess. For a tablet, yeah.

Technically, you can use a USB CD DRIVE to install it.
You just need 32GB of storage.
