    This is actually very accurate! In Israel (or Palestine if you prefer) we have remains of ancient fisheries from the late neolithic period that were constructed in similar fashion (but using rocks as a base for the levee instead of clay)

    • @zazugee
      @zazugee 6 років тому +1

      strange they built fresh water earthen ponds in a dry climate where evaporation is high
      or was the pre-historic weather less dry than it is now?

    • @burgeryoufoundbehindthegrill
      @burgeryoufoundbehindthegrill 4 роки тому +1

      @@zazugee much less dry. It's only dry due to at least 2,000 years of deforestation. Ancient Israel is unrecognizably different from the Israel of 50+ years ago. They are restoring the ecosystem these days though.

      What I truly admire and respect, that the guys in all these series, do not need to use any modern tools. Goes to show how gadget-happy we have become in the west. These guys are imagination & skill-centric, not gadget-centric. I tip my proverbial hat to them. p.s. it beats the carp (anagram) out of most things that pass for 'entertainment' on the MSM channels.

    Suggestion: make sure the water trickles down from the pond to the highest rice field, it will be filled with nutrients from the fish that can go and fertilize the rice soil. Awesome work!!!!

    I do enjoy watching your UA-cam channel and videos. I really would like to know how your fish pond turns out. And how are you going to stop getting your surrounding so water logged? Would you be building a fence around your area to stop other animals from coming in and eating your crops and fish? I really am interested on what you are going to do next. Well I look forward to your next video.

      If you are keen on leaving modern society (It's obviously not to everyone's liking), then help me build a city at some sort of island or coastline. It will be based on something right out of the early 18th century, and there will only be "pre-industrial age" technology used. The town is to be built, inspired by Nassau or some other colony in the 18th century Bahamas. Sadly, islands and acreage cost a lot of money, but if we are many, and we all sell our properties, it should be easy to afford the island/land and resources needed. I really don't think it should be a problem to sell your property and unnecessary belongings, if you are planning to leave modern society anyways. A couple of islands I have in mind are, Matana South seas plantation, Igoigoli Island and Whitsunday Island. There are also some coastal areas that can be used. Maybe something along the coast of New Guinea. In New Guinea one can find coastal stretches that are up to 50 km long without any named location showing up on google earth (they show the name of practically everything on google earth) Too be honest coastal areas are likely more viable solutions than small islands. Acreage bought off the mainland is also way cheaper than an island of the same size.
      Remember that if one person gets a couple followers those followers might also get some, and then we have a chain reaction. This is possible guys. If you are interested, then like my comment so other people can see that you are interested. Contact me on email: emiladefoged@gmail.com

      all nations, tribes, and tongues mined minerals and metals from the mountains on their land. We know the clear benefit of metals to aid in tools, strengthen buildings, alchemy, storage, etc. It would be exciting to see him conquer his mountain with a mine shaft and see what kind of things he might be able to build from there. It's not greed, it's exactly the same thing as him making clay.

    • @anashomestead5919
      @anashomestead5919 6 років тому +2

      Your already watching that video series. Let me say those bamboo sticks & palm leaves are paying for his nice camera system, & maybe even the land he is building on. You have to remember a large portion of the world still lives like that today, in fact those that do have jobs are often earning from $2. a day to maybe in China $2. an hour. So a small income from a you-tube channel is a comparable to a lavish income if spent well. In his community or in many countries this income would seem rich. This is one of the reasons these channels are so popular. Another reason is those of us in 1st world supposedly rich countries feel the bite of poverty, & we want to know how to live on, because we know the lifestyle we currently live will not continue on forever, it is doomed to crash one day.
