Hey Nick, basically it depends on how big your operation is and how many zones you are supplying. If you just have one zone and your submersible pump can supply it all efficiently, there's no need for a solenoid valve. If you have multiple zones, your pump might not have the power to push to every zone, and the solenoid valve can help with that.
