Classifying Animals: Germ Layers

While animals share many common characteristics, there are some characteristics unique to certain animal groups. Other than sponges, all naimals have germ layers. Some organisms have two germ layers (diploblasts) while others have three (triploblasts). Triploblasts can further be divided based on the type of coelom the organism has and falls into eucoelomates, pseudocoelomates, or acoelomates.
