From Core to S2 to SE, PRS offers guitarists an exceptionally excellent playing experience. I bought my 277 as a “rut buster”. While it serves that purpose perfectly, it’s so much more than that! It’s voice is surprisingly gorgeous. I always expect any PRS that I buy to be “satisfying”. The 277 has that in spades. I love playing it. I’d really like to see more colors and beyond that, an S2 or Core version!!!
I really enjoy playing this guitar, brings new ideas every time I pick it up. Recently added PRS locking tuners for a slight upgrade, adds a nice subtle touch of gold to the headstock
Really want one of these to use for more stable C Standard and B Standard tunings. Love my PRS SE 594 for standard tuning, but I gotta get my doom/stoner riffs on!
Same. Their red burst in the past was an amazing color, but this drab grey-ish finish is offensive to the eyes. Holding out until there's at least another color option or two.
I really wish we had more color options for this. Fire Red burst was awesome. It would be cool to see something like Eriza Verde or Goldtop or Myers Blue versions of this guitar.
Every SE model should have more finish options and certain models should have more shared colors between them and PRS should add color options instead of phasing them out. The first generation SE Hollowbodies had really nice finish options first divided in two models then 3 with the addition of the Piezo Equipped SE Hollowbody Custom (Fireburst and McCarty Tobacco Sunburst on the SE HB Standard, Charcoal Burst and Tri-Color Sunburst on the SE HB Custom and Peacock Blue Burst and Black Gold Burst on SE HB Custom Piezo) but when the lineup was updated the HB Standard was limited to just Fireburst and the HB Custom lost both finish options (which were better than the current ones (Black Gold Burst and Blue Burst) imo, specially the Charcoal Burst option in the HB Custom was probably the best this color ever looked on any SE models) Having more bridge options would be awesome too and all conventional models should ship with 10 gauge strings instead of 9 since its easier to go from 10s to 9s than the other way around with the nut slots cut to size on the SEs
@@felipelopes4376 the same situation is with this guitar. When they launched 277 series back in 2015, there was 4 available options for this guitar: solidbody with humbuckers in dark sunburst and black cherry, and semi-hollow p90s in vintage sunburst and grey black. Then PRS limited these options only to charcoal burst. I understand that semi-hollow baritone with p90s was a niche guitar, and was discontinued due to poor sales, but why limiting color options on the solid body 277 when it was and is popular model. The same happened to the SVN model - it was removed when they announced Holcomb SVN. I have both 7-string models, and they feel very different, so I don't understand why would PRS limit our options. Eriza Verde finish is removed from the SE Custom 24-08, Walnut top is no longer available for the SE Holcomb SVN. It's weird to see that instead of making more options for players, the company narrows it down.
I got one of these a couple of years ago,. I began guitar over 40 years ago (Which is scary) why did I wait so long to get a baritone? My SE277 is my first baritone guitar, my first PRS too, I'm very impressed, it feels like something very much more "hi end" than it's price tag suggests. My local guitar shop had a "kick yourself up the arse for years if you dont buy it", deal on one, £650 brand new with case candy 😁 they can still be found new at around that price if you hunt. I was very pleased it has a set neck strainght out of the box it had a really good action with loads of sustain, it definitely has the snap of Maple and the thunderous low end of Mahogany, the only thing I can possibly complain about is I cant quite make out the bird inlay on the 21st fret. Apart from that it's a fantastic thing and has been a wonderful addition to my guitarsenal.
Just make a dang baritone semi hollow satin vela That'd be cool and give it mini humbucker neck pickup and a hot bridge pickup. Ceramic Bridge 12 and ceramic neck 9, similar to the dimarzio pg13s, absolutely the GOAT OF ALL mini humbuckers
Picked up a 277 in 2019 then modded it to hell and it's been my number one ever since. Love the update, but I wish we had a different color or two this year.
@@mrmatthew2443 I'm a few months late, but here's what I did: swapped to SE locking tuners, powder coated black SD JB and Jazz pickups, Graphtech piezo setup, Graphtech nut, changed out the knobs to PRS Core knobs, and some strap locks from Dunlop to cap it off.
The bumped prices on these should have given players a top carve more akin to the one in the SE Hollowbody models which is the closest you can get to the Core line without actually going with a Core model. One thing that would probably be simpler and should have been done as well was providing more finish options on the SE models
I’m a strat guy but got one of these and I just love it for very different things ., I think youde love it , it works well clean and all the way thru more gain stages
Good luck finding a nice consistent top like this one... it's almost impossible. Look up Reverb and Sweetwater, I don't know who does QC on these, but guys should be fired! lol
What string size works best? I bought one a few weeks ago but Ernie ball Baritone strings don’t fit through the tuning heads?!? I’d like to play it heavy, but what is recommended that will fit?
The Ernie Ball Baritone set has thinner treble strings vs the D'Addario ones that ship with these guitars but the bass strings are thicker (the low B being a .072 on the EB set vs the .068 on the D'Addario set) You need to either trim the string if going for anything thicker than a .068 or trim the tuning post shaft hole with small round file or a dremel) And about the question regarding using smaller Strings...It's a bit of a waste using thinner/lighter gauge strings on a guitar with this sort of scale length imo but you can definetely use lighter strings on these guitars. There's a D'Addario Baritone set that's .013 - .062 for example
PRS, I have been dreaming of this guitar for almost two years now. But the top's are so inconsistent that I am passing on almost everyone I find locally. The one in this video and a few others I've seen are ABSOLUTELY incredible!! But what is sent out to stores look nothing like this. Look up reverb sales or even Sweetwater, most look terrible. From bad flame tops, to washed out grey finishes, to half flamed and half natural top... But what I find kinda shitty is that you delete comments that doesn't only give high praise to your stuff. You could do a better QC job on the finish of these... Also, 3 times I posted a message about this and 3 times you deleted it. At least try and give us players who want to give you our money a consistent product with a nice top... not some bad looking instruments. Let's see if this one gets deleted, if it does, guess us "little" clients don't matter. @PRS, anyway you can help a fan find one of these that looks like the one in this video??
That model has one of the (if not the) most comfortable necks I've ever played. Love mine. Do you have a newer one? They've updated them sometime and changed how the neck goes into the neck pocket in the body lowering the fretboard a bit. The one I have is a first gen Mushok so it's not like that. Would love to test one of the "changed" models just for comparison's sake
Wish you guys would bring back the P90 version of this. Or just simply other colors of the humbucker version
Fun to see something being played that isn’t high gain on a baritone.
Mark Lettieri style 😉💪
@@MaayanMorMusic fearless flyer 😉👍
Don’t get me wrong though my soul is all about the heavy. But I has some funk to me too.
@@Babs42 it just means it’s a guitar you can grow with if you go off the metal path. Makes me want to get it even more
Man !!!! You are so right 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Brian. That was a great demo.. many thanks….

Bryan always manages to get the best tones out of whatever style of guitar he gets in his hands 👌 that guitar sounds sick!
pretty sure he just plays the perfect idea for each tone.
ps i have this guitar and it's amazing
Nice playing
Nice looping
Great example of the unique frequency range of thus monster instrument

Man !!! Brian I seriously dig your playing !!!!!
An excellent demo!
If you put that bridge on an SE standard / custom 24 with a cool color, I'm immediately buying :)
this is deserve a CORE version! or at least S2 OR CE version PRS nail it honestly
This is pretty cool seeing it without heavy distortion. It’s got a very funky sound to it!
Thanks for making these in a lefty as well. Got my pre order in!
Same here for the left-handed one.
Me too
I got one and wow
I have one of these but still had to watch. Bryan nailed the Lettieri style there, nice job!
Love the PRS Baritone guitars..play mine everyday. Mike Mushok SE. I have a Brent Mason Mod and USA Tremonti Pickups. :-0
Love the Mushok signature. My favorite guitar and favorite band!
wow great demo, I think I need one of these
AWESOME prs and fingerstyle adlibbing...tnxs for sharing the bari-intrecalsis
Sounds great! I really want to pick one of these up, but the lack of colors is why I'm still holding out. Hopefully, they'll add more in the future 🤘
Same. Their red burst in the past was an amazing color, but this drab grey-ish finish is offensive to the eyes. Holding out until there's at least another color option or two.
Liking the Ty Tabor vibes here!
I love it but PRS has so many dozens of beautiful color options, maybe we could get some more for this model?
I've never heard a PRS Guitar that didn't sound great. I'm wearing my PRS Guitars T-Shirt as I type this, so I got it covered.
Another amazing PRS! Hopefully this will be an ongoing model series

Yeah. It's like: so you want a cool guitar? Here it is, in grey. Have Paul's middle finger for free! Sorry.
Played one in a store without initially realizing it was a baritone. Felt awesome.
Great job
Sounds fabulous.
I've got one of the left-handed SE 277s on order from Sweetwater!
I really liked the semi hollow version with P90s
Fuck! That thing looks AND sounds gorgeous!

Why baritones only SE range? We need some S2 for sure and it will be a super price-quality guitars
is this a song he's playing or just a little riff jam he made up? Very cool riff
Hi PRS, please make SE Vela :D
I’m a “Strat” guy. Always have and always will be. But damn it; that guitar sounds nice and “creamy” to my ears. PRS never cease to amazes me! 😕🎶🔥👍🏾

More color options and I'll buy one!!!!
🔥🔥🔥
PRS needs to do a trem version
One day, a variation of this will be my signature model. Oh yes. It will be mine.
Please tell us you are gonna make the Tobbaco sunburst color for the 277 . I went to Japan just for this specific model, and I couldnt find it :'(
Cool guitar. Could this be used in the same way Joe Perry used a 6 string bass to play "Back In The Saddle"?
III saw what you did there at the end.
damn, this guitar is my dream

I still like the Mushok baritone way better in looks and sound but that’s just me.
Mines perfect too
This is what I use for Drop G tuning.
Lord please bring back the hollow body p90 version of this beauty
⚡️⚡️⚡️
out of the blue my coil split has a huge volume drop. what happened and how do I fix it? the soldering and such still looks good.
This would be even more monstrous with an Evertune!!
I put a set of thornbuckers in my 277 and it transformed the guitar. I didn't like the stock pickups at all.
what kind of bridge is that?! Can I buy one so I can make my PRS Special a hardtail?!
Can we change the string into smaller string on this guitar??
"Mom, Can we have Belief by John Mayer?"
Mom: "We have Belief at home"
Belief at home: @4:03
Time to put an evertune in a 6 string Baritone. Helps a lot in tuning stability.

Can I tune this guitar on drop C?
Wait you can use a baritone without crazy high gain????!! 😂. Illegal. Just kidding. Love the new se stuff. Killer
I really want to Djent it

The tone knob pulls out… but I don’t.
Where is chug
That's switch is so unergonomical
We want to left handed Mark Holcomb PRS 🤟
Would rather see the maple neck SE Silver Skys!!!!

101% bro
oh great, another glossy neck guitar 🤮
prs marketing is really for boomer music, except mark holcomb sig
Not really, they were partnered with Mike Mushok for a while there (the better version of this guitar)
