They’re relatively the same, except the M3 having “the big 3” that need to be taken care of. Rod bearings, Vanos, subframe. Now, all 3 of those need to be addressed on 330’s or M5x’s in general, but not to the extent of the M3 which requires them to be addressed after a certain period of time, to avoid catastrophic failure.
I’ve had no problems with this unit after 4 years. This model has 4GB RAM, while some of the cheaper units have 2GB, and those tend to lag. Spend the extra money on the 4GB unit and you should be solid!
The car is still sitting at the moment, not running. I’ll eventually get around to installing a new motor. For now, my convertible is getting some work done here & there.
I’d recommend it, yes! Just make sure to get one that’s had a decent maintenance history! My car got me through high school & college. Although there were some hiccups along the way, I stuck by it & it stuck by me!
