That big, relaxed sigh at 4:08. I love it!
Thanks for watching! :)
Finding your youtube channel was like finding digital gold. Amazing, mesmerizing and inspiring video
So glad to hear Muriel! Thanks for watching - more outdoor adventures and camping trips coming up! :)
Wow! Awesome!
I used to do Algonquin every other weekend on the bike and camped at all the campsites and have hiked most trails, have seen bears and moose, but my dream was to canoe it's interior, as you both have.
Very! nicely done, great skills and great sense of humour.
Now I want to do it more than ever.
Wow! I've gotta watch them all again.
Thanks so much Ed! Glad to hear - you should go for it! :)
Thanks so much Ed! Glad to hear - you should go for it! :)
Great vid watched right to the end of ep 1. Love what you do with the maps and got a couple laughs too.
Thanks Jim! Glad to hear you enjoyed it :)
What a nice campsite. Can't wait to make some trips up north to some more natural parks.
*applauds as video ends*
+Hi I'm Alan Thanks Alan! Trekking into the interior of Algonquin is so worth it - many times, you get an entire lake to yourself :)
You've captured the essence of Algonquin so beautifully....Thanks for sharing
Thanks Ian! We're currently planning our next trip :)
you guys are awesome, demonstrating respect for nature while having a good time. Amazing stuff
+John Le Thanks John! :)

Looks amazing! Just went camping over at Bon Echo, not too far from Algonquin! love canadian camping.
Nice! Bon Echo's a beautiful spot :)
Love this! Still gives me goosebumps! Thanks C&J!
Thanks Gordon! Glad to hear :)
Really awesome video work. These videos , of which I binge watched over the christmas holday would make anyone want to get out there! Ten years ago I did this exact same trip, even stayed in many of the same campsites. I was so excited and inspired to see my trip retraced by you two that my son and I are making plans to do it again this August. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos!
WoW that looks like paradise :)
"And here we have a Julia in her natural habitat" Can't stop laugthing ^^
+Kyle Of Klanach Haha, yeah, always lots of laughs! :D
Start over every roadtrip....Timmies! Love the vid, Can't wait to get back again next year!
Thanks! Haha, yeah, it's become a tradition - we stopped at a Timmies in our latest skiing video posted yesterday... and also passed a Timmies transport truck on the highway in the video too, lol :)
Stellar, stellar stuff!! Canoed and backpacked in Algonquin so many years ago, like 15 I think...loved it!! We head up to the Adirondacks fairly often but really need to make the trip back up to this area.
Great, great job filming...think it really gives a great overview to folks who've never been there but want to go...and makes folks like me who have, want to come back!
Great job!
Thank you! Glad to hear :)
This is the first time we visit your channel, but NOT the last one - we follow you! Awesome good video, and an exciting adventure. Look forward to enjoy the rest. The way you show the route on the map is amazing. Greetings from Tove and Kaja
Thank you so much Tove and Kaja! Glad to hear you're enjoying them! :D
Love Algonquin park, one of my favourites.
Great videos, thanks !
Great video! Awesome editing. You guys make the back country look easy. Cheers!
Thank you! :)
Still most amazing quality of videos. Been binging them all this week. The relationship you two have is incredible and makes these videos super positive for me. Thank you again Chris ^_^
I miss camping! I go to Algonquin park and do portage camping every summer, I can't wait to do it again this summer :)
Nice! Stoked for summer! :)
S Lee apparently now you have to book your canoe trips before hand. my dad no longer does it because of that
Kevin Callan sent me over!
Cool! Thanks for watching! Kevin rocks :D
love your videos almost as much as i love algonquin park! :) thanks for the algonquin videos and sharing your experiences :)
Aww! Thanks Mike! :)
What a spectacular area! I love the water. Nice filming, and I look forward to watching the rest of your adventure!
ah love the nature/vid ... wow so incredible guys... I want to travel to CA again now... big hello from midtown:)
+YOtube Thank you! You should go for it! We actually paddled by some people from NY during this trip :)
I love the pre-added grill marks on the burgers : ) classic.
+Leftcoast Media House Haha! Btw, thanks for posting your GH5 videos! I've been filming more recently with the GX85's dual I.S. on a PilotFly H2, but the AF hunts a little bit sometimes, so I think I might move to an a6500 or the GH5. Looking forward to seeing more of your vids :)
Yea those burgers look totally legit. Awesome job Julia.
excellent vid, algonquin is beautiful, you make portagin look so easy I luv it. ☺👍
+simon malik Thanks Simon! I love the kevlar ultra-light canoes for portaging :)
Great video Chris - wonderfully filmed and edited. We stayed at that site a few years ago. Nice site.
Thanks Larry! It truly is a nice site! Btw, is your UA-cam thumbnail picture from the falls along that route?
+Chris Prouse yes - a keen eye Chris!
Nice! Absolutely beautiful spot :)
I've watched a ton of canoeing videos and yours absolutely the greatest in content and editing!
Thanks so much Douglas - glad to hear! We've got another canoe trip coming up soon that's going to be in 4K :)
I've spent a week in that park - lots of work but great views!
+Brian Fisher Thanks Brian! So true :)
Your videos are inspiring! Just went on my first back country winter camping on snowshoes and cold tenting in QEII Wildlands. Hope to go on my first Algonquin trip this year!
Thanks Emily! Glad to hear - you should totally go for it! Early May, or from August onwards are our favourite times to go for avoiding the bugs :)
Oh man... my old backyard. Sigh ...heart is longing for those waters. Don't get me wrong being in BC is great and beautiful.... but something about back east... I miss living in Ottawa... awesome video Ladies!... so glad I came across this channel!
Really nice video girls! keep more of it coming. Subscribed 2018 style and smashed the like button Peter McKinnon style!
you guys are my heroes
Great video Chris!!
I applaud your leave nothing behind message. I have been camping in Ontario for almost 50 years now and I follow the same rule, in fact I try to clean up what others leave behind whenever possible. For the past five years I have also stopped using fire pits and only use my small camp stove. I have seen the devastation caused by forrest fires, and I don't want to take any chances with a stray spark or ember.
ahh the scene at 49 sec with the Neis-overhead camera rig 😏🙋✌🚴rideon Chris
looks like a beautiful place
+Sean Childs Thanks Sean! :)
Nice video...you guys are happy! Good job and thanks for sharing.
+Montreal288 Thanks for watching Montreal! :)
Awesome series! We just came back from a 2 night 3 day trip. Your videos really helped! :) Thanks for the content!
Glad to hear! Thanks for watching - more coming soon! :)
Awesome will be on the lookout :) You guys actually inspired us to start recording all our trips and adventures, our first video being Algonquin park :) Awenda Park is also a nice place to visit! :)

Thanks Travis! :)
Nice video. I am going up there Canada day long weekend with some pals can't wait for it! DO it ever year
Thanks! Hope you have a great trip! :)
All I can say is wow! You ladies are just amazing! You got strength and courage to sell! I wish I could meet a lady close to my age with your attributes and with as much love for that incredible part of our province as I have!
that looks like so much fun! one day i will go on a similar trip like that :D
+Pyro B3ar It's amazing out there - like a completely different world. You should do it! :)
I was reviewing the other comments and you received a number of thumbs up for vloggers I follow in the camping world and some of them are hard core bushcrafters. Oh ya, I've said it before, that Julia loves her food. Nice burger!!! 🇨🇦
amazing. awesome trip!
+jakesky100 Thanks Jake! :)
I'm spending weeks in that place this summer. :)
As a rookie to the park I appreciate the video showing me around. Don't u tubers know your never supposed to show the world these spots..........
Nice! Haha, thanks for watching! :)
I just came back yesterday from there. I was at Rock Lake. I miss it already even though it rained all weekend and we didnt get to see any stars at night :( but it was still awsome. Cheers for sharing this !
Nice! That's awesome - glad to hear you still had a great time! Julia and I were just talking earlier today about how we actually miss the sound of rain on our tent, which can be really peaceful sometimes :)
Wow I just checked out all 5 of your 7 videos and you guys did so much cooler stuff in one hour than what we did in 4 days LOL. I think we didn't even discover probably 2% of the park. Just went on one little 5 KM trail and then Kayaked all day in the Rock lake.
But looking at your camping skills, I realized we didnt actually camped..... :/ we just maybe visited the park probably xD
Cool! You should try camping in the interior with your friends sometime - highly recommend just going one or two lakes into the park for a few days, and renting gear from Algonquin Outfitters (or the Portage Store on Canoe Lake). You can book all the lakes/ gear you need ahead of time, pick up your permit on the way, and you're good to go :)
Are you kidding me Chris ????? You carried the canoe for 700 meters?? Haha damn girl you nuts but I love it. I wish I could come with you guys. The wife doesn't want to go camping lol. I love!!!!!!! Fishing and love camping.
Also I hope you guys brought a gun with you two just for any emergencies?? Haha
Haha, we have two cans of bear spray! :)
You both are amazing!!
Thank you so much! :)
love all ur videos!
Thanks for watching Matt! More trips coming up soon! :)
Subscribed after 60 seconds of your video… why?... High
production values and slick editing, so I knew the rest of it was going to make
for enjoyable watching. Good job!
Thanks so much Graham! More to come soon today! :)
So proud of you Lady Thumbs up and you have a new sub.
Thanks so much Pamela! :)
Nice video! Makes me wish I could be able to go to Algonquin Park someday. Thumbs Up!
Thanks Magnus! :)
Love the vlog! Beautiful adventures! Greetings from Switzerland:)
Thanks Moira! Welcome to the channel! You have a very beautiful country - my mother spent a summer in Switzerland working and exploring when she was younger :)
Watching this again and I realized how satisfying it is to hear and watch those maps slapping down on the table in the opening I know I am weird LOL its the little things sometimes right?
I went there last year! We went to pog lake and we hoped to see a bear but all we saw was a wolf, that was still awesome as well!
Today I start to see your videos and they are great!!!, of course I'm subscribed.
as a early teen I spent a bunch of time in Algonquin park. a few different 10 day excursions. some of those portages are no joke, 50+ pound pack and a canoe up hill and down hill. 2.4 km was my longest but i hear there is some close to 6 km dry evergreen leave go up like gasoline also.
Молодцы девчонки!!!
great video I hope your summer of 2022 was good 👍
take me with you!!! looks like a great trip
thats what she said haha i love it
Haha, yeah, that jokes become a bit of a tradition now... Julia said it again at the beginning of more recent Algonquin trip too :)
Great video :)
Thank you! :)
Camped at that same site in 2017, there was a Moose there. Algonquin was great, our Moose to people ratio was 4 to 6 - we saw four moose and only talked to 6 people.
Hello! I see you from Spain. I really like your adventures ... You are great!
Great stuff girls! Beautiful and entertaining. Liked and subscribed.
Adventure Archives Robby and Andrew sent me here.
That burger looked so good ... and I’m (supposed to be) a veggie
Remember me my travel in Quebec !
+Green Tea Thanks again! :)
excellent job ladies
Thank you! :)
Came over from Joe Robinet....Please thank your friend for her comment to not take birch bark from live trees...I'm a new fan
You two are my sheroes 💪🏽💓 do you have a video where you show how you pack your gear? I watched this series and would love to know how you kept your food safe, what was that circular case you carried on your backs, etc. I’m binging on the next Algonquin series next! Ever thought about doing another trip for women? I’d love to join you two! 💓
Great video ... we always appreciate seeing the map(s) used. Might we ask how you chose your map from the collection of maps piled on the floor? Thanks!
Thank you! The map featured in the video is an older map of the entire park, and the others are smaller (waterproof) regional maps within the park that show a little more detail to help with navigating. We also recommend "Jeff's Map" of the park, which you can purchase online or download for free onto your iPhone or Android phone, and even works when you're off the grid, with the phone's internal GPS to show where you are on the map :)
Great editing, enjoyed
Love it
At big waterfalls, did you see white cross with A. Corbeil name on it??? He was my great grandather who died on a logging drive on the Petawawa River.
I'm watching this series for the second time and it's just as enjoyable as the first. It's now mid-April and my canoe is waiting (im)patiently in the garage. What month/time of year was this trip? There don't seem to be any/many bugs about.
Thanks for watching it again Jim! I believe this trip was filmed during the last week of August, and then we released it the following spring. Hope you're able to get out paddling soon! :)
Nice videos and good production work, but I can't believe you each ate those double hamburgers all by yourselves :-)
Thank you! Haha, yeah we build up quite the appetite sometimes :)
extra talent,amazing.
Great job ...
Wow, very nice adventure...Nice editing too.
Thank you so much! :)
prefer pine cones as firestarters but cool, need a dog get one. dogs rule. good for bear alarms.
Cool! I'll have to try the pine cone next time :)
+Chris Prouse pine cones usually just blow up and do nothing I wouldn't recommend them
great video and you both )
I'm new to your Channel but great trip and editing. I have subd
Thank you so much Flinders! :)
Have the same tent from MEC. That thing is absolutely amazing! is that barrel full of water? you should consider a water pump :)!!! I wish I could make videos this good!
Nice! Haha, no, the barrel's full of food and other supplies, as well as a Katadyn Hiker Pro water pump - it's totally worth the money! :)
Hi Chris,
I loved your videos of this trip.
I have a couple of questions for you.
What are you using to filter your drinking water?
Artisan Burger and Hash Browns, where can I buy these?
Thanks Waldo! We use a Katadyn "Hiker Pro" water pump that's great for collecting water on the go, which is totally worth the money and easy to maintain. Haha, the burgers are actually individually pre-packaged veggie burgers made by a company called Yves here in Canada. The hash browns are from the grocery store, and the bacon is the microwavable stuff that can be stored at room temperature before it's opened - we don't have any refrigeration though, so we eat perishables near the beginning and hope for the best once things have been opened :)
Hi Chris, i noticed that u had bacon and burgers (perishable food), i wonder how do you preserve those foods for after a couple of days on the back country?. have u brought a dried ice?
Hi Antonio, the veggie burgers are individually sealed, though we usually just have them on the first night. The bacon is the microwaveable ready-crisp stuff that stores well at room temperature... though once it's been opened, we try to keep it in a cool part of the food barrel and then hope for the best :)
ohh ok.. i thought that you actually cook it there. i'll do that on my backcountry trip on sept in algonquin. Thanx. btw, what software you were using for your vid editing? again thanx for the useful info..
Antonio Modina You're welcome! I use FCPX most of the time, and sometimes After Effects :)
i liked the video!
Would you get cited/fined for camping elsewhere than an official APP camp spot ? Sometimes things happen and a person might not make it to the next spot. ? It's such a pretty Park. 😃
I have nothing to say, except......... Can Julia come to my house and make burgers. ;-)
I'll clean up afterwards, promise....lol
Lovin your work Chris #heavyloadhappycouple
Andy.
What kind of frying pan is that? I never expected to see this level of food being eaten. I thought people only ate dehydrated meals from packages on backcountry camping trips because of the weight and space issue.
The portages are more grizzly than the bears!
Haha! So true :)
Only in Canada, eh? Love it!
Great camera work the background scenery is always so beautiful. And so is the foreground.
I've seen as part of some of your breakfast you both eating hashbrowns. I'm assuming they started the trip frozen or are they dehydrated...they pretty tasty :)
Yes, they start off frozen... and then they can start to look a little sketchy by the end of the trip. Depending on how they look towards the end of the trip, we may or may not eat them :)
Omg!! I see a storm barrel...... where did u keep the burgers?
I love your videos!!
What software do you use for the map route animation? I started making videos this year, it could be a handy technique to learn.
Nice! I used a plugin for FCPX called ProMap, from Film Pixel Studios :)
Chris Prouse Ah, I'm using Premiere. I'll have to look for something similar.
What programs are you using to edit movies :)?
I edit in FCPX :)
