  • Hurricane Creek is an off-road trail that starts on Highway 40 near the North Carolina & Tennessee border and is part of the Harmon Den Wildlife Management and Pisgah National Forest. This trail is pretty special to me as it is one of the first trails I ever went on that lead me to falling in love with Overland travel and Overlanding. It was on this trail that I determined I would make a trip across the USA on similar roads.

The wife and I did a trail ride yesterday on the CanAm Outlander (which was a blast because full size rigs wouldn't have made it due to gate closures, but 50 inches or less gates were open) anyway you could see where people had gotten stuck and cut down trees for traction and left all their tow strap boxes on the ground :(

My wife and I are just getting into it and we are from Kansas so overlanding isn’t a big thing. Other channels the guys are so over the top so for beginners it’s hard to relate when they have everything money can buy for overlanding lol. So keep making the great videos and we will watch!!!

Love the videos. My son and I just ran this on Wednesday 3/6. The entire trail was a hot mess including the "improved" section at the top. There has been a lot of recent heavy rain and it has washed out lots of areas and exposed some huge rock. The large trucks have dug ruts deep enough to swallow most stock vehicles. Lucky we didn't run into anyone coming the other direction because it would be very difficult to back up any distance and there aren't many areas wide enough to pull off.

Mostly smooth fs roads that I was finding, so when I came across a little mud with a bit of a ledge climb out I had to attempt it. Bottomed out hard on my 2nd attempt and took about an hour to get out so that put me a little behind on checking out other areas. You're right about the rock crawlers... they're hard on the landscape. Video is very good. Music needs to be lower volume.

TREAD LIGHTLY isn't being used here any more and landowners are looking to shut this area down.

Great video. You gave some really good points to watch out for. One thing I would add is how or where to get onto the trails. I see a lot of videos that show the trail ride but fail to show where to go to get started on the trail.

😂Agree! Down on the bottom right of the player there is a little speaker icon, click that and it makes me go away 😉
