I see nothing wrong with this at all. When one starts a horse or pony in harness for driving, you lunge work with the harness, get them use to the equipment. This horse is green to the equipment but not to lunge, the one working the horse has much experience. You can tell the equipment is loose enough that it does not cause discomfort and looks to me the whole purpose is to get the horse to relax, drop his nose to stretch his back. I think its to encourage stretch through the back, and relax

Das soll den korrekten Muskelaufbau erzeugen und das Pferd lösen und dem Pferd den Weg in eine korrekte Dehnung mit aktiver Hinterhand und aufgewölbtem Rücken erleichtern.
So this is essentially the same thing as butt roping. I've seen it done in the past and I don't find it effective at all, if anything it is counter productive. It seems like it locks up their shoulders and they become heavier on the forehand. Even though the idea is to get them using their butt more, they get too jammed up in the front end, unable to lift their shoulders and just become tight over the top line.
Was bringen diese ganzen Stricke?? Außer das man die natürliche Bewgung des Pferdes nicht mehr zulässt?! Sie sollen Haltung bewahren, aber ist ein natürliches Pferd nicht viel schöner anzusehen???
und jeden Schritt der Hinterhand spürt das Pferd im Maul.... nee, dann doch lieber n bisschen mehr Zeit investieren und vernünftige Arbeit an der Hand machen.
