Same problem with Easter Eggs i think that Bo4's approch to hints is helpful, only if they allow it to be an option like Easter egg mode in the options menu. It used to be a race to see who could figure it out and beat it first, and instead it becomes who can beat it first. By making it a challenge to figure out how to do the eeg it made the community communicate.
No literally the only Laura that was released on the trailer website before it was revealed in game somewhere has got to be the the world at war bios. You made some excellent points in this video it seems to me that they had some good ideas in the treyarch writing room and they realize they didn't have the budget to do it in game. Perhaps something in the Black ops 4 story got changed last minute and they want to save on resources so they creatively rewrote the story to involve this new character so it would make sense
No I'm just sitting here imagining the original story for Gulf war zombies is Dr. peck gaining ultimate power somehow but for whatever reason they had to retcon it maybe because of Microsoft decisions so now it's going to be about this new girl going into the dark ether and getting ultimate power instead to save on resources and like reuse boss fight attack code or something
Vangaurd and MWZ definitely haven't been great, but cold war was my favorite game for story in the series
