I know you probably get a lot of tips, but I saw a hack, where I got 2 plastic clothes pins , very light, from the dollar store to hold my doors back at convenient points. It really works well in rain when I hook my toggle around my guy line, then roll my doors up and clip them with the clothespins. It leaves me a real nice overhang to allow great ventilation in my Altaplex while it’s raining

Your personalities are a great match. Cool guy. I love the gear, especially the Mystery Ranch pack; mine is a MR Scree 32 and it is the most comfortable of my 30+ backpacks. The Grayl is an awesome traveling companion just like the American Express card. A hack I use to keep my flaps wide open is one of those lightweight tarp clamps. I drilled a small hole at the pincer end of the clamp, ran a length of #36 bank line through it and tie it to one of the rear stakes depending on what angle I want the open flap. The bank line is taut enough so as not to rub and fray the tent material. Being claustrophobic I sleep with my doors open. My tent is a mountaineering tent with double doors. I begin my traveling van life in September and will probably be on the road for two to three years to visit all of our national parks in the lower 48 and Alaska and visit Canada's provinces. I hope to meet you on one of your adventures, Dan, as you are one of my top five "adventurers" on You Tube.

Man, I got my hands on a mummy-shape Ether Light XT from sea to summit and it was so comfortable but my arms just had nowhere to be while on it. Just put in an order for a regular rectangular one and I'm so excited for it. Adds only a few hundred grams to expand my possible sleeping positions from like maybe one or two to countless, seems totally worth it.

The fly door holder latch issue (2:45) has an easy fix. Just when you roll it, roll it from the bottom of the door, so all the material is near the bottom (where the latch/loop is). Then the latch/loop thing will be holding the majority of the door material. My Copper Spur is the same, and I've never had a problem with it unraveling when I do it like that. Hope that helps!
