How to Measure a Shower Door Opening

IMPORTANT: All measurements must be made from finished surfaces.
Step 1: Write down your preferred shower door height.
Step 2: Measure the opening width along the curb.
Step 3: Measure the middle of the shower opening and again at the chosen shower enclosure height.
Step 4: Place your level on the left wall. If the wall is not plumb, record the out-of-plumb measurement.
Step 5: Take your level to the right side and find the out-of-plumb measurements again. Write down the measurement.
Step 6: Place your level on the curb. If the curb is not level, record the out-of-level measurement from wall to wall.
Step 7: If you choose to have a floor-to-ceiling unit, measure the height at each wall and at the center of the opening.
