Absolutely LOVE your colouring scheme here. I’m a big fan of colours and try to get my students to colour their sheetmusic but this is definitely much better than what I came up with. Will turn me sheets into rainbows first thing tomorrow morning :)
I just thought of a system using the famous ROY G BIV 7-color rainbow scheme. Obviously C = Red. Then "G" for "Green" and "B" for "Blue" seem like a helpful mental aid. Indigo for F since F strings are either black or blue, and indigo is a dark blue. That only leaves orange, yellow, and violet. C, D, E could be red, orange, yellow in rainbow order, so D = orange, E= yellow. All that leaves is violet for A!
I just came up with yet another color scheme basically using the same colors you're using. I know I'm probably spending way too much time thinking about this, but I want to settle on a color system before I eventually play pedal harp! I really wanted to figure out a way to keep the colors in rainbow order while still keeping C as red and F as blue. I also thought about the fact that harp string numbers and octave numbers go from high to low. So, if we go DOWNWARD from C and keep rainbow order, we could have: C = Red B = Orange A = Yellow G = Green F = Blue E = Violet (Purple) D = Magenta/Pink As you can see, 4 of the color associations are the same as your system! AND, "G" could still stand for "Green" as in what I previously came up with, which seems helpful. I know you won't likely ever change your system from what you're used to, because it would be way too hard with little/no benefit, but I might end up using what I just came up with. Wouldn't it be nice if the strings were those colors?!? It would look so pretty!
I love this system! I'm too much in my old system now and I would be super confused, but I definitely will keep your super pretty rainbow system in mind when I give masterclasses for introducing students to this method. Thank you for thinking about it! I definitely think Bow brand could think about those coloured strings, what happens if you drop them an email?! That would be AWESOME...Soooo pretty.
@@chiarapedrazzettiarpatelie6470 Thanks, Chiara! Something tells me Bow Brand wouldn't want to consider the colors, but I would be happy to email them about it, as it certainly wouldn't hurt. The worst they could do is ignore the question. However, I found the Bow Brand website but can't find an email address for them anywhere on their site. Do you know of an email address for them?
I've thought some more about my last comment and came up with a slightly modified system to what I previously posted, still using the famous 7-color rainbow spectrum scheme. In the U.S., it's famously taught as ROY G. BIV, but I've read that what Newton considered "blue" was really cyan (between blue and green), and what he considered "indigo" was really blue, and that other parts of the world therefore teach it as ROYGCBV (not as memorable but more accurate). While I've never seen a marker or colored pencil labeled "Cyan," another name for "Cyan" is "Aqua," and it's not hard to find "Aqua"/"Aquamarine" or something similar in colored pencils or markers. Here goes: obviously C = Red and F = Blue. Then "G" for "Green" and "A" for "Aqua" seem like a helpful mental aids. C, D, and E could be red, orange, and yellow in rainbow order, so D = orange, E= yellow. All that leaves is violet for B!
Wow that looks really helpful!! I'm actually currently working on a music with a LOT of pedal movements and i'm really struggling. I'm almost done but for the next one i'll defintely give it a try !
Hi! No, it's just the picture to show my pedal system. I just put colours on the score, also because you never look at pedals while you're playing..! :-D
@@chiarapedrazzettiarpatelie6470 That photo you made of the colored pedals looks so believable! You mentioned in another video that you would love a red harp; I bet you would also love to have your pedals colored for the "wow" factor for your audience!
@@chiarapedrazzettiarpatelie6470 That would be really neat! Which is your favourite colour? :-D Mine is GREEEN!!!

TRUE!! I use colours on the keyboard for beginning students! Very effective!

Thank you for sharing
This video is extremely helpful for a composer such as myself who is composing his first Harp Piece. Thank you so much for posting this.
I'm glad it helps!
Super! Danke 😃
Glad you find it good!
I love it ❤️❤️❤️
Brilliant! Thank you for the pro tip! 🙏
You're welcome! :-D

This is great!!!! Thanks!
:-D
Brilliant! I tell my very young beginners to color pencil their F(blue) and C(red) strings, but this takes it to a useful advanced level. Thank you.
:-D Glad you find it useful!!
I was hoping you had colored adhesive strips for the pedals! So cool.
Haha no, also because you NEVER look down at your pedals :-D Forbidden!
@@chiarapedrazzettiarpatelie6470 Yeah, well I'm still a newbie, and, at 6'4", I have very little 'wiggle room' for my large feet, so I still look.

Thanks, great tips, but do you mark something else to identify sharp or flat or natural ?
No, I just write Eb or whatever I need and highlight it with the colour (in this case, purple).
I don't have any black and white vision only color I know it sounds weird but I can only see in color
