- ✅ What is SYRINGOMYELIA?
Syringomyelia is a rare neurogenic disease which can damage the spinal cord due to the formation of a fluid-filled area in the form of a cyst (Syrinx), usually found in the high cervical spine. (Also found in lumbar area but this is very rare)The name derives from the word Syrinx, Greek for a tube-formed object and the Myelum, referring to the spinal cord.
✅ What are the causes of Syringomyelia?
It's unclear how and why syringomyelia happens. When it develops, cerebrospinal fluid - the fluid that surrounds, cushions and protects your brain and spinal cord - collects within the spinal cord itself, forming a fluid-filled cyst (syrinx).
Several conditions and diseases can lead to syringomyelia, including:
Chiari malformation, a condition in which brain tissue protrudes into your spinal canal
Meningitis, an inflammation of the membranes surrounding your brain and spinal cord
Spinal cord tumour, which can interfere with the normal circulation of cerebrospinal fluid
Conditions present at birth, such as a tethered spinal cord, a condition caused when tissue attached to your spinal cord limits its movement
Spinal cord injury, which can cause symptoms months or years later.

Mujhe bhi hai yeh problem MRI pe aayi hai. Chala , leta, betha, soeya bhi nhi jata... Bs pain pain pain continuously... . Or doctors ne bol diya hai ki operate krea lo lekin 1% bhi guarantee nahi dete ki yeh thik ho jaega ya nhi. Bolte hai ki successful ho gya to bahut acha hai.
