Magnum XL-200 vs. Steel Force: How Are They So Different? Coaster Crash Course #3 [FIXED AUDIO]

- Take a second to look at Steel Force and Magnum XL-200 with just your eyes, and the two look like carbon copies. You and I know very well, however, that this couldn't be further from the case. Why do these practically identical layouts ride so differently? Let's dive in on this latest Coaster Crash Course.
The background audio was way too loud on the last one so here is an updated video with the BG dropped a little bit. Tiny change but it makes a big difference IMO.
A HUGE, MASSIVE thanks to Deborah Ong, who did the vast majority of the editing and compiling on this video! I would not have been able to reach the level of depth I have in this video without her help. And I probably wouldn't have gotten it out on a very important milestone- Magnum's birthday. So please shower her with deserved praise in the comments, and if you need someone to edit your videos, I can't recommend her enough.
Hope you enjoyed this new entry into the Coaster Crash Course series, covering two rides which are near and dear to my heart. If you watched the video, please give it a like. A comment. A subscription. Share it with your friends! It's really difficult for a small UA-cam channel such as mine to succeed in the algorithm, so the help is definitely appreciated!
Music Credits: Bliss of Heaven by SOMM, John Philip Sousa's United States Field Artillery and Hands Across the Sea, Gustav Mahler's Symphony #2 Movement 2, Hymn to Freedom in the style of Oscar Peterson, Sibelius's Finlandia, Plasterbrain, Jay_You, and Badoink (as well as that song from DankPods, I can't find the original anymore) for jazz loops, SOMM, Wertstahl, and Audionautix for casual EDM stuff, the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection theme, and more stuff that I probably missed. I spend too much time on the music.
Howdy everyone, this video is an updated version of last week's video with updated sound! The background music has been decreased in volume slightly, which is a minor change but one that I think improves the quality of the video a good amount. If you watched before, why not watch again? If this is your first time watching, hope you enjoy! :)
This is also why Boulder Dash is so awesome. The ridiculous overspeed it has coupled with the triangle hills make it a hoot.
I love Magnum. Honestly even today there's a legitimate case that it's the second best ride at Cedar Point, only behind Steel Vengeance (which you could say is the true "modern Magnum", similar stats but the ejector airtime is just more sustained), although there's a case to prefer Magnum for marathonability (that line). I just worry with Cedar Fair's new direction they're going to try to replace Magnum with a garbage Zamperla knock off.
13:39 Brilliant stuff with these graphs. I do prefer getting the sudden surge/jolt of airtime while sitting in the front on many coasters, as opposed to the buildup/yank in the back. I understand why so many people love the back though, they are both distinct (and fun!) sensations.
I liked Magnum (its OK) but my wife hated it, Dorney likely on the trip next spring
Magnum "Magic Seat"......Row 3 of the first car...left seat. The ejector seat.
I don’t like Magnum I think it hurts
I hope they replace the restraints with something that hurts less to slam into, or just replace the ride all together.
heretic
Magnum was my first roller coaster ever at 8 years old in 1994! Love that coaster! I have 352 credits now
Magnum XL2Painful!!
Did you think this was funny when you posted it
@@thomasxl200 he probably thinks it's still funny (it's not)
Magnum XL-200 is a name for condoms. Not a roller coaster.
I have bad news for you buddy
