    Your precious daughter added such joy to your video. We visited St. Thomas and loved Coki Beach. My son bought 1.00 dog biscuits to feed the fish. They will eat out of hand. Glad to hear someone enjoyed Magens bay. We didn't have a good experience. Rude staff all around. We were happy to leave. Looking forward to visit the other two beaches you recommended as we're heading back this year. On your next visit hop over to St John let us know how you like it. We enjoyed Trunk Bay, amazing snorkeling, Food, and clean changing areas. Tents and chairs available to rent too plus friendly staff!

      Thanks so much for watching and commenting! We are so happy you enjoyed it! We just couldn’t get over the beaches in St. Thomas-each one was prettier than the last. That’s great to know is about using dog biscuits to get the fish to come up. We will have to try that next time! We have heard a few people have disappointing experiences as Magens Bay. It looks like we lucked out because it was such a slow day. Thanks for the recommendation for St. John! It’s definitely on our list!

    I lived five minutes from Megan's Bay by car and 25 minutes on foot from my house. it still looks the same but with way more houses on those hills.
    It's a living landmark for me.

    • @micalebgoeswest
      @micalebgoeswest  5 місяців тому

      Sure! We saw someone snorkel with these full face masks a few years back and they raved about them. So we just found them on Amazon and they really are amazing. It’s so much more comfortable than the old school snorkel masks, and they don’t fog up as easy. They run about $30. Here is a link. Hope this helps!

    Great vlog! I'm going back next week but never tried Lindquist Beach. Did you see taxis there? I'm concerned about getting stuck. I also stayed at Margaritaville last year and it was great.

    • @micalebgoeswest
      @micalebgoeswest  Рік тому

      We are jealous that you are going back! St. Thomas still haunts our dreams. We did see some taxis, but you could always call the resort when you are ready to leave and have them send a taxi. They offered that service when we were there. There was also a public bus that was super cheap that takes you to some of the more popular areas that may be worth looking into. We hope you have an amazing trip!

      Thanks so much! We are happy you enjoyed it. We got to Magen’s Bay at about 9:30am and had the place essentially to ourselves for a about an hour. This beach is also fun with crowds, but if you want to enjoy some solitude then get there as early as you can. Hope that helps!

    Hello, did you just visit St. Thomas this month? I heard there was an abundant amount of algae along the beaches for some reason. Appears to be that way in some of your clips. We are visiting there in 3 weeks! 🥳 I was hoping the algae issue would be gone.

    • @micalebgoeswest
      @micalebgoeswest  Рік тому +1

      We are jealous that you get to go in 3 weeks! We actually went last summer so we aren’t aware of the current conditions. During our visit there was minimal seaweed at most of the beaches. The main tourist beaches usually keep it cleaned with tractors so the sea weed was piled to the side, but beaches like Lindquist were all natural. We hope the beaches are beautiful for your trip. Have a wonderful time!

    Since you have been to Maui, are there any beaches like Baby Beach in Maui, in St. Thomas? We are looking somewhere like that with the break where we can go way out and there's barely any waves or scariness....

    • @micalebgoeswest
      @micalebgoeswest  7 місяців тому +1

      We have been to Maui but have never heard of Baby Beach before. We just looked it up and it looks so peaceful and nice (adding that to our return list!). We were pleasantly surprised in St. Thomas that the beaches were all relatively calm. We experienced some waves but they were very mild; no one was able to surf or boogie board. By far the most peaceful was Magens Bay though. The beach is set within a cove so the waters are incredibly calm with minimal waves. No scariness at all! That’s our best recommendation from the beaches we went to. Hope that helps!

    Hi! Quick question: we will be traveling to St Thomas also staying at margaritaville with our 8 month old…do you recommend renting a car? I was concerned about taking taxis since we would have to bring her car seat. Thank you for your advice!!!

    • @micalebgoeswest
      @micalebgoeswest  Рік тому

      Hello! As you probably saw, we also traveled with our 8 month old and we chose to rent a car. We brought our own car seat but the rental car companies should have one for rent. If your plan is to leave the resort and explore the island then we highly recommend renting a car because the taxi situation wouldn’t be great for a baby (in our opinion). If you have any more questions about traveling to St. Thomas with a baby we are happy to share our experience. Thanks!

    Have you done other excursion there??

    • @micalebgoeswest
      @micalebgoeswest  Рік тому +1

      We have previously taken an excursion to Magens Bay from a cruise, but on this trip we actually stayed in St. Thomas for a week and rented a car so we could explore. We ventured to these beaches and to a lot of restaurants, but no true excursions outside of that because we were somewhat limited by having our baby with us. We heard really good things about different sunset boat tours and snorkeling experiences.

      @@micalebgoeswest planning to doing research. Lol. Is there a best snorkel beach? I get that Magan bay is turtles.

    • @micalebgoeswest
      @micalebgoeswest  Рік тому

      We were told that Coki Beach was one of the best snorkeling beaches on the east side. We didn’t have great luck snorkeling there but we also went when it was most crowded. Also, the Lindquist Beach park was great for snorkeling because it was secluded and non-touristy, so there were lots of fish. We didn’t film in the water there but it was great snorkeling!
