It's our go to spot in St. Thomas. We've been half a dozen times and enjoy that beach a lot! Nice video.

I lived overlooking mavens bay for a couple months, you feel buzzed just looking at the view.
If you stand in the middle of the shoreline and look out at see, then the house would be about 10 o clock , about 2/3 of the way up the mountain

I live overlooking Megan’s and it’s good on clear water days when there are no cruise ships on island but it’s definitely not the best beach…..just the most popular for tourists.
Thanks so much for the great information. I'm going there next month and was wondering if the cruise excursion was more than just going by taxi. This answered all of my questions and even covered the entrance price.
Ya we opted as u see to take a taxi also to when u take the taxi make sure to let the driver to come back to pick u up and what time I would give yourself plenty of time to get back like two hours should be plenty. Also they have a store next to the restaurant to buy souvenirs and other stuff that I didn’t show in the video. I didn’t show the food we ate but I would say it was decent. Other than that have a great time I love the island of st Thomas . What cruise line are u doing? I grew up on St. Thomas ages 11 to 20 1981 to 1990. They didn't build the Crown Bay cruise ship port until the late 1980s and it wasn't open until past when I left. The yellow 2 story building with white trim in the background is (or was, built for) Little Switzerland as a warehouse. I helped put the roof on and 40 foot safe in that building in late 1989. I have a fondness for the Havensight cruise ship dock, my dad had a liquor warehouse at the very end of it that he served the cruise ships from. As far as alcohol, they are ripping you off now with the high prices of it. There is no federal sin taxes on alcohol down there. It should cost you about $3 a fifth for Cruzan Rum made there. At retail in convenience stores in the 1980s it was like $1.29 a fifth.

I went to st. Thomas back in Jan of this year, 2024. I didn't know about Megan's bay til after I got back on the cruise ship. I'm going back in Jan 2025 and going straight to the bay. Thanks for sharing and you got a new subscriber!

Went here on my disney cruise it was the best beach literally ever.
Another good beach is called lindquist beach very remote no services aside from a guy selling beer out of a cooler. Or Saffire beach cool too they actually have a little outdoor beach hut that sells food and drinks.

Would you say to book a $79 pp excursion to Megan's bay or just get the taxi?
Get a taxi that way u can leave when you want to. Arrange it with the driver on when you want to leave the beach. I usually just get a taxi when I go to these islands when I’m just going to the beach that way I can decide when I ready to leave. Hope this video and my response was helpful. End of the runway in St Thomas is Rocks to the water but if you’re on a boat it’s good plane watching. Not really a thing here though due to smaller planes and less frequent flights.

@@1ablue your asking what dock? It was on Royal Caribbean’s oasis of the seas I’m not sure where abouts the port was on the island.

Yes it is another great beach especially if u want to be remote and away from the crowds. I actually have a photo video of that beach and saffire beach when I first started doing this. Been there a few times. There is no desire to visit this island anymore. Cabs are expensive, the attitude to tourists is bad. They are all spoiled and arrogant there.
