4:15 - Breeze 4:41 - No idea to be honest 5:15 - Buttersnips 5:41 - Racecar 6:00 - Racecar (the song is over 15 minutes long, many parts) 6:35 - All New Materials Sorry if someone else already covered this!
This amp is pretty impressive. I expect to see a lot more of these in the coming years making the way into more metal rigs. I want one to go along side my dual recto.
all the demo sounds on this one are awesome, not only that but all the different settings and channels sound useable. The clean is beautiful and super clean and the crunch is smooth. Even though u seem to set it at 100W power seems to have alot of headroom still.
Wow, missed this one! I love this one- absolutely shitloads of character to the sounds!!! For me, now it's 1. Blackstar; 2, H&K 3, Fryette Pitbull. I like how it sounds when Misha adds a tube screamer- what a sweet tone that makes! Now I want to Hear Neil Young rip up the riff to "Hey Hey My My" on this, I think it would sound perfect.
@GJRM18 that's from the song "Buttersnips" if you want to buy/download/whatever the song. It's a good song. All of their songs are good to be honest. I highly recommend acquiring them using the method of your choice.
@purpledc1 It's not quite doubled, but two stacks are quite a bit louder than one. Especially on where they're placed. Malmsteen further uses a cab for each head. And there's something wrong with your stack if you can crank it at your house and not annoy your neighbors, or most likely in your case, your parents. A stack is insanely loud.
Most who diss the Blackstar series are kids who have played the HT amps, which I compare to the Marshall MG series. Many of these kids have no idea of the Series One amps or the Artisan series, which are both fantastic. I haven't owned a Blackstar, but played an Artisan 30, as well as the amp in this vid, and both sounded amazing!
@lopez1172 For an entire band? Or just your personal rig? This amp is plenty for mid and larger shows. Larger shows are usually mic'd and fed through the PA system. This would be overkill on a small show.
@HurricaneTBag Wrong, I still have a stack and crank it everyday. Two amplifiers will be louder than one but not by a huge amount. You double the amount of air your moving but that is only half of the equation. Two amps running at 100db is still 100 db. Its not like if you take two amps running @100 db and put them together that you now have 200db of volume. Sorry it just doesnt work that way. It will sound fuller and you will feel the sound more but its not going to be that much louder
@cast390 It probably doesn't sound saturated enough because its not on very loud, you have to remember the player is sat directly infront of the cab and this is a very loud amp so cranking it up would probably be painful for these guys.
@HurricaneTBag While I agree that 100w is plenty loud, its highly noted by not just yngwie but also his techs that he uses every cab and head thats onstage.
I know Blackstar makes good quality stuff. I had a Stage 100 Head and like a dumy sold it but the Series One stuff sounds great! Now is it me and my Old Man ears or does the Blackstar Series One 4x12 Cab sound a little harsh & Thin with those Vintage 30's?
@Ureyeuh Get a Diezel or a Hughes and Kettner. If you can finda used VHT superlead that'd be a nice one too. Of course a Mesa dual rec is always there, as is the 5150 III.
@HurricaneTBag Not a fact, its your opinion. BIG difference.. Extreme protection? like $1 ear plugs that many many sound guys wear? or maybe headphones that eliminate all the ambient noise and reverberation of the hall being played and listening to the mix from the board? most sound guys will listen to what other hear for a fraction of the show at soundcheck. They listen to the mix from the board because they know high volume levels can fatigue the ear and cause them to set improper levels
@purpledc1 I've seen lots of big "loud" bands live, and seen the production of their show. When Ace Frehley was still with Kiss his stacks weren't even real amps, they were just the faces of heads, he used a little 18 watt old classic Marshall amp below the stage and had a monitor in his ear. AC/DC does something similar, Angus still uses the classic stack, the amp that's miced to the PA is behind the stage and hooked through a monitor to his ear. Malcom does pretty much the same thing.
@xXxiFvkxXx Idk what you're talking about as far as this man being unnecessary. He did record his band's first album, essentially put the band together, and write some very different music that is getting him recognition all over the world. I don't have time to read all the comments and arguing, but this is a fact.
i own a blackstar ht 20 and i like it cause it can take pedals very well and pushed with an OD it can near give you a metal sound with a lot possibilities and everything before , but if i have to spend more why i should buy a blackstar ? I mean with a black star you should go to English to American , but which is the blackstar sound ? If i like The American i will spend my money in a Mesa or on the other and in a Marshall. No ?
@Zed1967 Again, this amp has DPR = Dynamic Power Reduction. Meaning you can go ANYWHERE from 20 to 200 watts. ie: it can SWEEP ANYWHERE IN BETWEEN those two ratings..... no need for a power brake/attenuator at all as it essentially already has that feature built in. 0_0
@cast390 idk what source your listening to this throughout (computer speakers, something like that etc) but im listening to misha's riffs at 6:03 etc through my sony headphones (paid $30. were $130. ebay. win) and there is plenty of saturation and gain! :) \m/
Since all of Blacksta'rs stuff is not made in the UK, I suppose the Vintage 30 they put in here is also made in China, I'm sure it's not a UK V-30 to keep the costs down. This cab is also an Oversized one approx. 33 in Tall, reminds me of their competitors "Vintage" cab. LOL I wonder if the Bass is any good in person, it is so hard to tell from youtube's videos and all the compression.
So I'm looking into buying a nice head. I'm really looking into Engl's and Blackstars. I want something with good mids, and lots of note definition and clarity, not something that I turn up and lose chord definition and eq with. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not a big UK sound fan, but Engl's sound good to me. Idc much for Orange either.
@barneycockburn You pay that much for a digital "amp"? Why didnt you just spend the money on a nice Diezel VH4 or Mesa Boogie triple rectifiert? Engl Powerball II E-645 or "just" a Peavey 6505?
@Sean2592 sure, but so do the engl's and even the mesa isn't cheap..... I'ma dual recto user, and love my sound, but i think this blackstar my be on my list next.
@Ureyeuh if u did take the time ud see it was a mere sarcastic remark due to the fact that this video is about the amp, not him. and also it was in regards to the top comment before stating that to skip the unnecessary go to whatever time it is when misha started playing. im not saying hes bad nor that he isnt respectable, merely that hes over rated and rlly only plays the same things on these demos and usually uses tubescreamer so u cant even hear the amps natural sound.
@HurricaneTBag I was just trying to bring the conversation down to your level of understanding. I know much of it went over your head so i was simply coming down to your lever. Obviously it worked and you understood it.
@lopez1172 Yeah if you played this at a smaller gig you'd have to turn it around in order to get it at a manageable volume for the sound guy. It'll sound awesome, but it would be overkill. How big is a midsized show? You'd be plenty loud to shatter any bar. There's gigs of 1500 or so that it would be plenty loud enough for. Keep in mind 100W of pure tube power is pretty fucking loud.
@lopez1172 I can ashure you, this is up for any requirements you may have, its 200w of valve power... I own one of these and also an S1 412 loaded with v30´s ofc, and if you put the channel volume on 10, DPR on 10 (this is the feature that behaves like a power attenuator, putting it on 10 allows you to use the amp at full power)
its a very general description..usually american will be a tighter more focused bottom end...while the british will be more shimmery and "loose" or "open" sounding..of course this prolly varies..but its a good general overlook i guess
@HurricaneTBag Thats why malmsteen concerts are known to be some of the loudest on earth. Right behind manowar. remember, malmsteen doesnt care much for his audience, his bandmates or anyone else not named Yngwie. Im not saying its the proper thing to do, but some band have and still do use alot of running amps onstage.
@purpledc1 And don't even tell me that he doesn't crank his stacks, a full headed amp needs to be turned up pretty damn loud in order to even sound good. If you're putting a head around two or so, it'll likely sound like ass. In order for a head to sound the way it's supposed to sound it needs to be around a four or so. Justin Sandercoe did a lesson with a head and a single 4x12, he needed to put the amp in another room in order to record the lesson properly. Heads are LOUD, that's what it is.
Misha's riffs are incredible. Instantly catchy and melodic, yet very heavy at the same time
4:15 - Breeze
4:41 - No idea to be honest
5:15 - Buttersnips
5:41 - Racecar
6:00 - Racecar (the song is over 15 minutes long, many parts)
6:35 - All New Materials
Sorry if someone else already covered this!
thanks @ PG for these epic reviews sound and looks sick in 1080p.
I seen Devil Driver back when they were still tuning to drop B for live shows and these amps sounded pretty damn good to me
Misha's tone is awesome on all the channels.
The clean channel is awesome!
Wow, missed this one! I love this one- absolutely shitloads of character to the sounds!!! For me, now it's 1. Blackstar; 2, H&K 3, Fryette Pitbull. I like how it sounds when Misha adds a tube screamer- what a sweet tone that makes! Now I want to Hear Neil Young rip up the riff to "Hey Hey My My" on this, I think it would sound perfect.
i really really like that amp.. and mishas playing is fantastic and versatile!
I've got this amp. It's amazing how bad it sounds here, when it actually rocks.
Wow.... Misha's playing really brings out the amp's true ability.
@GJRM18 that's from the song "Buttersnips" if you want to buy/download/whatever the song. It's a good song. All of their songs are good to be honest. I highly recommend acquiring them using the method of your choice.
dude, this is a 'monsters of high gain' segment and 7 string is perfect for that
@blacklabelmansociety That's a song called Breeze. You can find it on his myspace. Look up 'Bulb'
Not a fan of the distorted tone, but props to Ty for that classic Finger Eleven riff.
you can see misha start really diggin it when the tube screamer kicks in on od2.
BULB..!!! .finally got hear him play breeze live...so happy..!!
Really liking the first progression Misha played.
Why would they put both transformers on one side? Surely that's gonna be weird to carry.....
Save wire? Lol
That's; All New Materials, by Periphery, brotha! The single greatest clean intro of a metal song ever :D
@holycumulus The song is "Buttersnips". It's awesome.
@aLevitatingPnut ty's guitar has 27 frets and the end of the fretboard is angled
@lopez1172
For an entire band? Or just your personal rig? This amp is plenty for mid and larger shows. Larger shows are usually mic'd and fed through the PA system. This would be overkill on a small show.

Ty plays the opening riff to Finger Eleven's "First Time" in his first clip of playing on this amp - a fellow Canadian band...
@HurricaneTBag While I agree that 100w is plenty loud, its highly noted by not just yngwie but also his techs that he uses every cab and head thats onstage.
In reply to axismusicman the song @ 4:15 is called "Breeze".
Fantastic players 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I know Blackstar makes good quality stuff. I had a Stage 100 Head and like a dumy sold it but the Series One stuff sounds great! Now is it me and my Old Man ears or does the Blackstar Series One 4x12 Cab sound a little harsh & Thin with those Vintage 30's?
Love this Hi Gain episode because Misha plays breeze and all new materials (Y)
I love how Bulbs demos are so much better in every video hahaha
blackstar....just freakin awesome :)
@Ureyeuh Get a Diezel or a Hughes and Kettner. If you can finda used VHT superlead that'd be a nice one too. Of course a Mesa dual rec is always there, as is the 5150 III.
Didn't expect misha to be in this. Cool.
@HurricaneTBag Not a fact, its your opinion. BIG difference.. They listen to the mix from the board because they know high volume levels can fatigue the ear and cause them to set improper levels
its the song all new materials by periphery, its one of my fav songs by them check it
@cast390 they are really different kind of amps...blackstar produces the 104 6l6 which has a more saturated sound
The first riff played by Misha is the perfect riff! OMFG!
thank you
i own a blackstar ht 20 and i like it cause it can take pedals very well and pushed with an OD it can near give you a metal sound with a lot possibilities and everything before , but if i have to spend more why i should buy a blackstar ? If i like The American i will spend my money in a Mesa or on the other and in a Marshall.
No ?
i found out it is a song called Breeze by Bulb, which i think is his solo work!
Some times the amp dosent take the 7 string as well as lets say a 6. its all about how you eq the amp, and of course if you can play
Hey guys. Do you know the title of the song @ 6:35? I really liked it! One of the most awesome clean sound I've ever heard. Reply please.
the best demo
@Zed1967 Again, this amp has DPR = Dynamic Power Reduction. Meaning you can go ANYWHERE from 20 to 200 watts. ie: it can SWEEP ANYWHERE IN BETWEEN those two ratings..... no need for a power brake/attenuator at all as it essentially already has that feature built in. 0_0
It's a song he wrote when before he was in periphery. Look up breeze by bulb. It's a great song!
@cast390 idk what source your listening to this throughout (computer speakers, something like that etc) but im listening to misha's riffs at 6:03 etc through my sony headphones (paid $30. were $130. ebay. win) and there is plenty of saturation and gain! :) \m/

It's a his track from Bulb project. It's called "Breeze" ;) Awesome song
Definitely my favourite one out of the 13
@dontbannme2540 It's not off axis. If it was it wouldn't be pointing straight at the amp?
So I'm looking into buying a nice head. I'm really looking into Engl's and Blackstars. I want something with good mids, and lots of note definition and clarity, not something that I turn up and lose chord definition and eq with. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm not a big UK sound fan, but Engl's sound good to me. Idc much for Orange either.
I've also had an ht-100 though and still sounded badass. Like I said if the user actually knows what theyre doing the amp will sound great.
@barneycockburn
Which did you own? May you could upload a few samples of Axe FX?
The best high gain amp!
@barneycockburn
You pay that much for a digital "amp"? Why didnt you just spend the money on a nice Diezel VH4 or Mesa Boogie triple rectifiert? Engl Powerball II E-645 or "just" a Peavey 6505?
@Sean2592 sure, but so do the engl's and even the mesa isn't cheap.....

@OndskapensHersker Well that's because Misha is using his signature pickups.
what's that first riff misha was playing? sooo dope
@HurricaneTBag I was just trying to bring the conversation down to your level of understanding. I know much of it went over your head so i was simply coming down to your lever. Obviously it worked and you understood it.
Can anyone tell me what song he's playing at 4:14, beautiful riff
I have a good feeling that this isn't how the amp sounds at its best, I'm pretty sure this thing is a beast, but the mic placing mucks it up.
@theriggermortis2400 They're coming back with a brand new album they even announced it, but you already knew that. Too bad we don't even know when.
@Phishiz I hope you know how to properly use a tube amp then.
I will buy this amp soon
@lopez1172 Yeah if you played this at a smaller gig you'd have to turn it around in order to get it at a manageable volume for the sound guy. It'll sound awesome, but it would be overkill. @purpledc1 I'm pretty sure the gigs that Man-O-War would be playing wouldn't be able to fit that size of a rig, but that's just me.
@HurricaneTBag You could play a loud show with a Blackstar HT-5 Combo, as you say, its all about the PA
Good one dude! This comment pretty much sums up the general intelligence of core and djent fans.
LOL 5:15 is from Buttersnips! Which Misha DO you know!?
The first "bit" from the second dude is pretty damn sick.
What's up with John Petrucci introducing the vid?
I never thought Misha would ever show breeze in a demo video hahaha
Great song, Great player, Great Amp --> The three Gs
@lopez1172
I can ashure you, this is up for any requirements you may have, its 200w of valve power...

@voodooman803 I guess it also goes to 50, 100, and 150.
the thing misha plays first is beautiful?? is it from a song or he is just jamming??
yes, I totally came to see someone play Dave Matthews on a high gain amplifier.
Is this amp quiet enough to use for home and bedroom practice? Say in my uni dorm for example. I know the DFR setting can lower the wattage to 20.
its a very general description..usually american will be a tighter more focused bottom end...while the british will be more shimmery and "loose" or "open" sounding..of course this prolly varies..but its a good general overlook i guess
Believe it or not this is however one of their "better" videos . . .
I heard some Finger 11 in there and a clean riff that sounds a lot like a Cold song.... nice! ^_^
@pissedoffsol thats what i'm looking for man is it for sale?
@purpledc1 And don't even tell me that he doesn't crank his stacks, a full headed amp needs to be turned up pretty damn loud in order to even sound good. If you're putting a head around two or so, it'll likely sound like ass. In order for a head to sound the way it's supposed to sound it needs to be around a four or so. Justin Sandercoe did a lesson with a head and a single 4x12, he needed to put the amp in another room in order to record the lesson properly. Heads are LOUD, that's what it is.
Played a used one at GC. Sound really really good. Just weighed a raking ton, and would be tough to carry around for gigs. Mark V for the win!! :P
@Noxx93 $2400 USD is the street price
@MonkeyRiffs Plays Breeze (feat. Hayley Williams)
such a tune man.
@USMCScoutSniper27 @Guitarrig31 It's called 'Breeze'
Cool, thanks :)
@metalmouth13 yeah ! he is a great musician
is t nessecery for these amps to be so expencive? good plaung misha btw.
@spoofyshamrock
Yup, looks like an absolutely killer amp.
so buying this amp
