    Why does gay short films always have sad endings they should send out positive messages to young gay teens who are finding themselves and that message should be be who you are and don’t listen to the haters your sexuality is your business no one else’s so don’t listen to the bullies because they just want to make you feel depressed and they want you to hate yourself when you shouldn’t. ❤

      Sad and tragic endings brought about by homophobia, suicide, rejection by family, friends, teachers, pastors, et al, murder, betrayal, extortion, blackmail, depression, "conversion" therapy, exile to military schools, etc. Makes young LGBTQ+ who watch these feel good about themselves and their future?

    Gay movies often have a tragic end, a reflection of the too often negative perception of the hetero-macho society in which gay people evolve. However, this Quebec film, a society open to sexual differences that honors it, also has a high rate of suicide among young people, struggling with their sexual orientation. 1:54, the title of this film, evokes the physical performance between two young rivals, but also denounces the phenomenon of bullying, particularly to those who have or are suspected of a sexual orientation different from the majority, gays in high school.

    I appreciate the care that goes into these movies. But they are aware that constantly showing instances and not showing the good side does help others live their truth of being. Gay. If we want to move move a better future, we need to give emote attention to the love, care, and acceptance that exists more than the hate.

    And remember dear gays, before you make out in a teenage coming out drama, you always have to put in a bit of a fight and become physical because it’s sooo masculine. Also... this guy pushed him away twice (a clear sign of a no) and the other one still tried to get on with him.... This is not okay.

    • @sarcasmprophet2423
      @sarcasmprophet2423 Рік тому +2

      in this scene the dude kissing him looks awfully like his dead best friend who he was in love with, to the point where in Tim's eyes it was truly him. I believe the fight is only there to represent his internal struggle.
      He loved his bestfriend romantically but never got to express it, he even had to pretend to "hate" him for his (the bestfriend's) homosexuality so that he wouldn't become a target like he did. So this scene is mostly there to show that he is giving in, sort of admitting openly his feelings and sexuality in general.
      You are right, someone shouldn't force themselves on somebody else, but this scene signifies so much more and IS important to Tim's character development.
      (i did not intend to make a paragraph but hEY, if you read it fully thxs )

      SD 90Mac I get the “just be yourself” thing, but not everyone has that freedom.. Many closeted guys are restricted to come out because of their situations whether it be a homophobic family or sometimes something worse. Lots of homophobic parents have even disowned their child for that reason, which brings fear into these closeted people who are afraid to lose all the trust they have with their parents.

      Got really drunk the other night for the first time and literally just came out just like that. I remember saying that the alcohol let’s me forget and escape and shouted at the top of my lungs that I’m gay and asexual, everyone looked at me and then we just laughed together. I don’t know if people remember that night but I’m happy that at least I’ve come out once and it feels less like I’m lying to myself. (It was a bit easier because half the people there were gay 😅)

    Lame storyline. Though I am against bullying, but no one will be bullied if you stand against bullies. The lead character is too coward. What a shame

      In real life many victims don't have the courage to stand up to the bullies. It would be nice if that happens all the time but that's not always the case.

      Or sometimes they overpower you with numbers.
      Other times trying to stand up to your bullies and beating them up gets you in trouble as well.

    Filme péssimo, os dois personagens gays do filme morrem, um se suicida por causa do bullying e o outro morre por uma bomba que ele plantou para atacar quem fazia bullying com ele e que vazou um video íntimo dele. E o pior de tudo é que os homofobicos saem impune e as vítimas morrem. Passei o filme inteiro torcendo pelo Tim, mas ele só sofre...
