If you already own the gun do a chamber cast because I have seen one in 8mm Mauser

Do you happen to know if the m95 can be in other calibers besides 8X50 or 8X56?

The one I own is a long rifle. The bolt face seems to have had a shim added to the circumference that the existing guide extended to. It happens to fit a 30-30 casing perfectly, yet will not chamber. Also, my rifle will not accommodate an 8X50 nor an 8X56. A strange mystery.

8X57 also comes nowhere close to fitting either.

Kyle Iverson If there is a broken case in the chamber it will block both from chambering. When the head of the case rips off sometimes the brass left inside can be hard to see but is still there and old and tarnished. This may be your issue. You'll see this problem on Chinese Type 53 carbines too!

Need some help, how do you tell if you don’t have any of the guns brass?

the rifles should be in unmarked 8x50 or marked with a S or H for conversion to 8x56, if do not have brass then a chamber casting will be the only way to determine the caliber.
